Lillian Lois (Wilson) Popplewell, age 81, passed away peacefully Friday morning, October 28, 2011 at Morning Pointe in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
Lois was born March 2, 1930 in Russell Springs, Kentucky to the late Arnie and Effie (Johnson) Wilson. She married
Ocus D. Popplewell on August 17, 1946 in Russell Spings, KY. He survives after 65 years of marriage.
Lois was the loving mother and homemaker to her daughter: Lillian Ann (husband, David) Pogue of Nineveh and sons: Olis D. (wife, Janice) Popplewell & Mackel "Mack" (wife, Carla) Popplewell both of Trafalgar. She will be missed by her three brothers: Arnie (wife, Betty) Wilson of Franklin, John D. (wife, Daphine) Wilson & Elvin (wife, Gail) Wilson both of Russell Springs, Kentucky; Eight Grandchildren and Sixteen Great Grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by two daughters: Karen M. Baird & Deborah L. Popplewell; a son: Jonathan "JD" Popplewell; one sister: Wilma Snyder and three brothers: Milburn, Ralph & Arvin Wilson.
She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker that enjoyed spending time with her family. Lois was not only a member, but a former Sunday School teacher and Youth Leader at the Franklin Seperate Baptist Church. She found great pleasure working in her flower and vegetable gardens, enjoyed fishing and was an avid bird watcher.
A 10:00 am funeral service will be conduct by Rev. Homer Whited at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home on Monday, October 31st. Friends may call from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the funeral home on Sunday, October 30th. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery in Morgantown.

Marie H. (Hillyer) Eigenrauch

Marie H. (Hillyer) Eigenrauch, age 86 passed away Tuesday morning, November 1, 2011 at The Waters of Martinsville. She was a resident of Morgantown and a former resident of Hazlet, New Jersey.
Marie was born December 16, 1924, in Red Bank, New Jersey to the late Harold and Minnie (Shardine) Hillyer Sr. She married
Christian Eigenrauch Sr. on July 14, 1946 in Middletown, NJ. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2005.
Marie was a 1942 graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, NJ. She was a loving homemaker and worked for the United States Government as a secretary in the Avionics Department at Fort Monmouth, NJ during World War II.
Survivors include her children: Christian Eigenrauch Jr. of Morgantown, David John Eigenrauch of Deal, NJ, Dianne Claire Asay & Kathryne Lydia (Michael) Steib both of Middletown, NJ, and Jill (Bob) Schultz of Manalapan, NJ. She will be remembered by her siblings: Claire Parrish of Maidens, VA, Harold Hillyer Jr. of Bricktown, NJ, & Ron H. Hillyer of Red Bluff, CA; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren & one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one daughter: Claire Marie Arnold onNovember 30, 1995.
Marie was one of the oldest living member of the Middletown Reformed Church in Middletown, NJ. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and photography.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown. Inurnment will take place at a future date at the Fairview cemetery in Middletown, NJ.

Jackie L. Bush, age 60 passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at his residence in Nashville.
He was born July 12, 1951 in Bossier City, LA to the late Jessie & Lucille (McGough) Bush. He married
Donna J. (Gorman) Holland-Bush on December 17, 2010. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters: Angela Goyne of Carson City, NV & Pamela Bush of Bossier City, LA; one son: Jimmy (Angel) Bush of Monticello, Arkansas; one step-son: Robert "Robbie" Holland Jr. of Nashville; three step daughters; Holly Moyer of Greenwood, Christine Rogers of Princeton & Mary June Sammons of Enterprise, OR. He will be remembered by his one sister: Virginia Smyrni-Killian of Benton, LA; one brother: James (Teresa) Bush of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, one nephew and four nieces.
Jackie was preceded in death by a step grandson: Robert Ray Holland III.
Jackie worked as a HOD Carrier for the Local Union 120 in Indianapolis for more than 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. Jackie was an avid reader of Stephen King Novels, enjoyed working in his yard & garden and taking care of his horses.

Bobby G. Kean

Bobby G. Kean, age 77 quietly passed away at his home on Friday morning, May 14, 2010. At his side was his loving and faithful wife of 57 years Marilyn L. (Parr) Kean whom he married
on November 1, 1952 in Franklin.
Bobby was a resident of Trafalgar and born on July 21, 1932 in Russell Springs, KY to the late Cyrus E. & Mary Martie (Helm) Kean. He served as a Corporal with the United States Army from 1953 to 1955.
Bobby was the loving father to Debra Stillabower and her husband, Daniel, Gary Kean and Edward Kean all of Trafalgar. He was pa to Blake, Nicole and Chase; step-great grandchildren: Courtney, Brayden & Cody. Bobby will be remembered by his sister: Vina Lee Higginbotham of Franklin, KY and three brothers: Bill Kean of Elizabethtown, KY, Marion Kean of Franklin, & Bruce Kean of Naples, FL.
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Earlean Flanagan, Ima Miller, Lydia Snow & Pearly Lawless; two brothers: Paul & Dallas Kean.
Bobby retired in 1988 as a Foreman over the pipeline for Arvins in Franklin after 38 years of service. He also was the owner and operator of A&A Septic during the 1980's and 90's. Bobby was a member of the American Legion in Seymour.
He enjoyed working on his family farm with his two sons, cutting hay and raising cattle. His true love was his grandchildren and the joy he received by spending time with them riding his golf cart and four wheeler. Bobby also enjoyed going out to eat, watching Larry King and listening to country music.

James C. 'Jim' Smidebush

Jim Smidebush, a retired public relations executive and former broadcast journalist who spent many years with General Motors Corporation in a variety of leadership positions including vice president of public affairs for Delco Electronics Corporation, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012.
Smidebush is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jane, three children - Doug (Jenny), Katie (Shad)Durham, and Amy Smidebush; brother: Edward (Mary Lou) Smidebush; and three grandchildren (Alice and Lucy Smidebush and Zane Durham).
He moved to Brown County after retiring in 2002, but his ties to the county go back a quarter century before that. He and his family were frequent visitors with a love for Brown County that translated into becoming residents immediately upon his retirement.
After moving to Nashville, Smidebush was active in community and civic affairs. He volunteered alongside his wife at community events such as the Downtown Saturday Night series, served on a committee for the Brown County Community Foundation, was newsletter editor for the Rotary Club of Brown County, helped promote activities at the T. C. Steele State Historic Site, and was interim executive director of the Brown County Chamber of Commerce. He was later a member of the Visitors Center staff and box office manager for The Palace Theatre of Brown County. He and his wife both performed in the community's staging of "Abe Martin's Dinger of a Day" at The Brown County Playhouse in the 2005-2006 timeframe.
Smidebush had also been active in civic affairs at the state level in Indiana, serving as a member of the boards of directors for both the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Manufacturers Association. Additionally, he was a member of the Indiana University Kokomo Advisory Board and was a founding board member of the Community Foundation in Kokomo and Howard County. Smidebush served for 10 years as a member of the campaign cabinet for United Way of Howard County and was chairman of the organization's very first Day of Caring.
He was a former board member of United Way in both Howard and Madison counties in Indiana. Also, he served as general campaign chairman for United Way of Anderson/Madison County, vice president of the Anderson/Madison County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, was a member of the boards of directors for the Anderson YMCA and Madison County Food Bank, and served as a member of the public relations professional liaison committee at Ball State University. He also served on the public relations committee for Community Hospital in Anderson and the business advisory board for Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo.
His career as a broadcast journalist before joining General Motors included being business editor for WJR Radio in Detroit, where he received the Associated Press award for "the best radio public affairs program" in the State of Michigan and was honored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers for "excellence in broadcast journalism." Before moving to Detroit, he was a member of the news staffs at WOWO Radio in Fort Wayne, Indiana, WONW in Defiance, Ohio, and WIMA Radio & TV in Lima, Ohio.
At General Motors, he had served as Director of Media Relations for GM's Operating Staffs in Detroit; Director of Public Affairs for the Flint Automotive Division in Flint, Michigan; Director of Public Relations for the Delco Remy Division in Anderson, Indiana; and Vice President of Public Affairs for Delco Electronics Corporation in Kokomo, Indiana.
Born in Ottawa, Ohio, on December 20, 1941, Smidebush grew up in Kalida, Ohio, where he graduated from Kalida High School and later served as manager of The Union Bank Company in Kalida, was secretary-treasurer of the Putnam County Bankers Association, and was active in community affairs including service as president of the Kalida Lions Club.
A graduate of the Ohio School of Banking at Ohio University and Elkins Institute of Radio & Electronics in Chicago, Smidebush was also a member of the first graduating class of the Anderson Leadership Academy in Anderson, Indiana.
He met Jane Surovjak of Lorain, Ohio, while attending Bowling Green State University, and they were married
on July 4, 1970.

Mr. George Washington Atwood
Mr. George Washington Atwood, 48, of Seymour, passed away at 5:17 AM, Monday, November 3rd, 2008 at his residence in the presence of his family.
George was born in Columbia, KY on June 26, 1960, the son of Willie Lee and Ada M. (McFarland) Atwood. Father preceded in death, Mother survives
On August 18, 1980 in Haleysburg, IN. he married
Rose M. (Abner) Atwood, Who survives. .He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed Bluegrass music. He was musically inclined as he could play many instruments, the mandolin, guitar and the bass guitar.
George was a member of the Seymour Community Church. He worked at NTN Driveshaft, Walesboro.
He is survived BY; wife, 2-children: George Adam Atwood and Ashley Elizabeth Atwood, 5-grand children: Kyra Alexis Phillips, Devon Micheal Atwood, Dylan Adam Atwood, Kaylee Aliyah Phillips and Samuel Edward Ellis Atwood, 1-brother: Willie Lyle (Melissa) Atwood, 9- sisters: Twin sister Nettie Elizabeth Atwood, Emma Plisko, Wilma (Herb) Taylor, Anna (Tom) Bishop, Lana Peyton, Martha (Bob) Malone, Theresa (Bob) Vondielingen, Nancy (Brad) Goben and Sue M. Smith, several nieces and nephews.
George is preceded in death by: father, 2-brothers: Edward Lee Atwood and Earl Dewain Atwood, 1-sister: Linda Darlene Morrison, 2-nephews: Earl Lee Wesley and Samuel James Smith
Funeral Service will be Thursday, Nov. 6, 1:00 pm at Voss Chapel, Seymour, IN, with Rev. Frank Holt officiating.
Friends may call at Voss Chapel on Wednesday, Nov 5th from 4-8pm. and Thursday after 12 noon until time of service at Voss Chapel. .
Burial will follow at Cana cemetery with a Voss Dove release.

Willis Gary Kean, age 63 passed on Sunday evening, May 27, 2012 at his residence in Brown County, after a courageous battle with cancer. By his side was his devoted wife of 41 years, Carolyn S. (Wilson) Kean whom he married
on March 9, 1971 in Brown County. Also by his side were his loving children, Amy & Renee.
Gary was born December 5, 1948 in Franklin to the late Willis Merrill & Ivie Marie (Smith) Kean. He was a 1968 graduate of Brown County High School and went on to serve his county as a Machinist Mate Third Class with the United States Navy.
Gary retired in 2010 after a 40 year career of being a Tool & Die Maker. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and the Wetzel Trace Long Rifle Club. He also was a member of the Franklin Flying Field where he enjoyed flying his remote controlled airplanes. Gary enjoyed fishing, pheasant & deer hunting and reading about history. He was an expert wood worker & carpenter and was known for making beautiful things out of nothing. Gary also enjoyed spending time with his Brittany Spaniel hunting dogs and his lap dog "Patches".
Survivors included his wife: Carolyn; daughters: Amy M. (Craig) VerSteeg of Franklin & Renee N. (fiancé, Jason Knight) Kean of Trafalgar. Gary will be remembered by his siblings: Bev Kean, Mona Cave, Missy Kean, Leona Baker, David Kean, Tommy Kean, Albert Kean, Rusty Kean all of Brown County, Les Kean of Martinsville and Mickey Kean of Bloomington; several nieces and nephews.

Wilma T. (Branam) Zink, age 95 passed on Monday morning, June 4, 2012 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Morgantown.
Wilma was born July 4, 1916 in Brown County to the late William & Laura (McClary) Branam. She married
Richard E. Zink on October 19, 1935 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death after 46 devoted years of marriage on October 3, 1980. Wilma was a 1934 graduate of Helmsburg High School.
She is survived by her loving children: James Richard (wife, Lindsey) Zink of Indianapolis & George Wayne (wife, Jill) Zink of Morgantown. She is also survived by a brother in law: Tom Parker of Bloomington; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren & 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Juanita Parker in 2002; her identical twin sister: Thelma Richards; a granddaughter: Shelly Parker and three half brothers: Roy, Orville & Albert McGuire.
Wilma was a homemaker, a member of the Morgantown First Christian Church and attended the Cottonwood Christian Church in Brown County. She enjoyed cooking for her family, quilting, knitting & crocheting and oil painting. She also enjoyed working in her flower & vegetable gardens.
