Wiley Truesdel
Wiley Truesdel, 75, of Gosport passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Tampa, FL.
Wiley was born August 12, 1936 in rural Owen County, the eldest son of Tom and Genevieve (Hensley) Truesdel. He graduated from Gosport High School in 1954. After graduation he served in the Air Force National Guard. Wiley worked for IBM in Greencastle for 32 year, retiring in 1988. He served Owen County for 16 years as a County Commissioner. He currently served on the Taylor Township Advisory Board, was a co-founder of the Solid Waste Management and a strong supporter of the EMS. Wiley was a member of the Millgrove Methodist Church serving as a trustee. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #92 serving as Master for many years. He married
Marilyn Hunsicker in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter.
Wiley is survived by his wife, Marilyn Truesdel; son, Jay (Loretta) Truesdel; step-children, Bill (Darla) Thomas, Jerry (Colette) Thomas, Tony (Gail) Thomas, Brenda (Larry) Culver, Mitzi Hardwick; grandchildren, Amanda Thomas, Kara (Kevin) Minnick, Katelyn Thomas, Hilary Thomas, Dustin Thomas, Kristen Thomas, Kyflin (Cody) Leitzman, Logan Oakley, Alisha Hardwick, Vince Wright, Abigail Truesdel, and Curt Money; three great grandchildren, and brother, Bob Truesdel.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel on Monday, January 2, 2012 with Pastor Mark Pogue officiating. Burial is to follow at Gosport cemetery. James E. Weaver
James E. Weaver, 84, of Ellettsville died at Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center on Thursday, March 8, 2012.
He was born on September 1, 1927 in Campbellsburg, Indiana to Murl and Edith (Chastain) Weaver. James served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at RCA for 38 years in the test maintenance area and also owned his own TV shop for 25 years. After his second retirement he worked at the Ellettsville IGA for 2 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 604 and a member of the Ellettsville Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Weaver.
James is survived by his wife of 58 years, Erma (Vandeventer) Weaver; children, Steven Weaver and wife Chana of Plymouth, MN, David Weaver and wife Judy of Solsberry and Sandra Hawkins and husband Jeff of Ellettsville; grandchildren, Dusty Hawkins of Bloomington, Rachel Weaver of Plymouth, MN, and Sierra Stanley of Waverly, IN and great-grandchildren; Dylan Stanley, Myah Stanley, and Alexandria Hawkins.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chad Babbert officiating. Burial is to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens with the Monroe County Honor Guard performing military honors. Ruth Marie Mobley
The family of Ruth Marie Mobley mourns her passing. Born May 26, 1951 at Beech Grove, Indiana to Clarence Alvin Childs and Ruby Helen Ellen Lawson. Entered into rest April 15, 2008 at Bloomington Hospital.
Her memory will be cherished by husband, Thomas Eugene Mobley, Sr.; children, Crystal Marie Mobley, Thomas Jr. and Kathy Mobley, Charles and Treasa Mobley, Frederick and Teresa Mobley; sisters, Colleen Alberta Rainey & husband Gilbert, Rosemary Elaine Lirot & husband Thomas, Catherine Dawn Beaver & husband Richard; 8 grandchildren.
She is reunited in the presence of our Heavenly Father with her father, Clarence “Bud” Mobley; 2 infant brothers.

Randall "Randy" S. Groh
Randall Randy Scott Groh, 46 of Bedford passed away unexpectedly at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago on Saturday, March 3, 2012.
Randy was born on May 29, 1965 in Bloomington to Franklin H. and Diana R. (Deckard) Groh. He graduated from Bloomington High School South. Randy was a former general manager of Steak N Shake and the former owner of the restaurants, Caf D Lish, DLish Pizza and Remember When. He was currently volunteering at HairMasters Salon in Bedford. Randy loved life, his family, his friends, and animals.
He was preceded in death by his Mother.
Randy is survived by his partner, Warren Jackson of Bedford; father, Frank Groh; brothers, Steve Groh and his wife Vera of Ellettsville; Jimmy Groh and his wife Sheila of Spencer; and Brian Groh and his wife Leann of Bedford; children, Camryn Hoard of Bloomington, and Katrina Hoard of Ellettsville; step-sons, Nick Jackson and Nate Jackson of Bedford; nine nieces and nephews; two great-nieces and one great-nephew; many friends; and his special pets, Jack, Sadie, Max, and Lexie.

Janet Steigerwald Knight
The family of Janet L. Steigerwald Knight mourns her passing. Born May 24, 1947 at Beech Grove, Indiana to Charles M. Steigerwald and Betty J. Welter Steigerwald. Entered into rest March 22, 2008 at home surrounded by loving family.
Her memory will be cherished by children, Lori Lehman and husband Robert, Michelle New and husband Rickie; “adopted” daughter, Christina Wilson; siblings, Carol Lemons, Gary Steigerwald and wife Marilyn, Michael Steigerwald and wife Lou Ann, Thomas Steigerwald; grandchildren, Laura Wilson, Tyler and Dillon New; 13 nieces and nephews.

Carolyn R. McNeal
Carolyn R. McNeal of Ellettsville passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the age of 61.
Carolyn was born on July 17, 1950 in Terre Haute to James R. and Martha (Fields) Davis. She was married
to Ronald McNeal in 1970 and was to celebrate 41 years of marriage. Carolyn worked at Bloomington Hospital for 41 years as a certified respiratory therapist and polysonographer. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Ellettsville where she was very active in childrens ministries, outreach for children, and bus ministries. Her devotion to community service carried over to volunteering for the Monroe County Fall Festival where she used her talents to arrange Kids Day for several years bringing joy to many local children. She enjoyed NASCAR, (being especially fond of Jeff Gordon) spending time with her grandchildren, and loved watching Paula Deen. Carolyn will be deeply missed by her family and all of the people she came in contact with. The family wishes to thank the hospital, her Drs, nurses, and staff for their care.
She was preceded in death by her father; and father-in-law, David Floyd McNeal.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Ronald McNeal of Ellettsville; daughters, Shannon McNeal of Ellettsville; Angela Squires and her husband David of Mooresville, Andrea Andrews and her husband Jeff of Ellettsville, and Kristen Long and her husband Chris of Huntsville, AL; her mother, Martha Davis of Bloomington; mother-in-law, Beulah McNeal of Ellettsville; grandchildren, Jocelyn and Alexis Squires, Davion and Amber Long, Lela Curtis, and Josie and L.J. Krause; sister, Joyce Teague and her husband Steve of Bloomington; brother, Joe Bose and wife Kim of Laughton, OK; a special daughter, Kim Elliott of Bloomington; and many more extended family and in-laws.
Funeral services will be held at the Ellettsville First Assembly of God Church on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Doug Carter officiating. The family of Robert Eugene Epp mourns his passing. Born December 11, 1920 at Noblesville, Indiana to William Epp and Elizabeth Beals Epp. Entered into rest March 15, 2008 at home surrounded by loving family.

Jerry Lee Crabtree
Jerry Lee Crabtree, 56, of Gosport passed away at his residence on Friday, July 8, 2011
Jerry Lee was born in Indianapolis, IN on December 3, 1954 to Warren Walls and Julia (Grider) Walls. He was a contractor. Jerry Lee was a talented woodworker and artist spending many hours making beautiful pieces and showing his craftsmanship. He was the kindest and nicest person doing anything he could to help anyone that needed it.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Crabtree and Tim Crabtree.
Jerry Lee is survived by his parents, Warren and Julia Walls of Gosport; children, Travis E. Crabtree of TX, Julie A. Mouse of IL, Willis L. Crabtree of OK, and Pawnee Sue Crabtree of OK; grandson, John W. Ronald Eugene Hewitt
The family of Ronald Eugene Hewitt mourns his passing. Born February 7, 1943 at Columbus, Indiana to Charles Hewitt and Lillie Bryant Hewitt. Entered into rest March 12, 2008 at Bloomington Hospital, surrounded by loving family.
His memory will be cherished by wife, Diane Hewitt; children, Michelle (Todd) Root, Tony (Tana) Collins, Troy Hewitt, Michelle Kope; siblings, Jerry (Beverly) Hewitt, Shirley (Larry) Elgar.
Ron worshipped at and was a member of New Life Community Church, Nashville, and his faith will be carried on by 6 grandchildren: Maddison, Alexandria, and Keaton Root, Chris Gonzales, Sarah Kope, Wesley Hewitt; one great-grandchild.
He is reunited in the presence of our Heavenly Father with both parents; daughter, Lori Hewett.
Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at New Life Community Church of Nashville, Pastor Darrell Stout officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the church. Interment to take place following the funeral in the family plot of Duncan cemetery. Virginia Stansbury
Virginia Johnnie Stansbury, 87, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Indiana University Health, Bloomington Hospital.
Virginia was born June 8, 1923, in Ellettsville, IN, to Walter and Bertha (Everman) Stansbury. She spent her entire life in Monroe County. Many people will remember her as a lifelong employee of RCA in Bloomington, until she retired after many years.
Virginia is survived by one sister, Opal Calvert, who resides in Ellettsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters: Pauline DeLoreto of Bloomington; Jean Robinson of Anderson, IN and Jewel in infancy. Her brothers included E.L. Buzz Stansbury of Avoca, IN, John D. Stansbury and Floyd Pood Stansbury, both of Bloomington.
Aunt Ginger dearly loved and doted on many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She will be remembered fondly by her many family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27th, 2011, at Chandler Funeral Homes in Ellettsville. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, April 28th 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Hill cemetery in Bloomington. Virginia will be interred next to her brother Floyd, sister Jewel and her parents.
John Thomas Collier
John Collier, 61, of New Port Richey, FL passed away on December 22, 2011 in Tampa, FL.
He was born on April 5, 1950 in Bloomington, Indiana to Harley and Georgia Collier.
John's passion was teaching and counseling in Gallup, NM where he assisted many children in their education and lives.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Gary Collier.
John is survived by his sons, John Collier Jr, Scott McCloud of Florida; brother, Kenneth Barnes of Stinesville; six grandchildren, Ethan, Coner and John Collier III, Julie McCloud, Crystal Twocrow and Elizabeth McCloud. He also left behind extended family members, Vickie Carter and family; Dave Cleveland and family as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Judes Catholic Church in Spencer on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Dehault performing the mass. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Visitation will be at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Sunday January 22, 2012 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.
Cynthia "Cyndi" Brown
Cynthia Cyndi Sue Brown, 56, of Bloomington passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
She was born in Indianapolis on October 13, 1955 to her parents, Rodney and Wilma Adams Brown. Cyndi was a devoted mother, daughter and grandmother. She attended Northside Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rodney F. Brown; brother, Joe Rodney Brown; two husbands, John Robb and James Nip Goins.
Cyndi is survived by her mother, Wilma Brown; daughter, Tracy Lynn Robb; son, Jeremy Lee Robb and fiance, Krystalina Hendrix; grandchildren, Steven Dixon, II, Hope Dixon, Kielee Robb, Breanna Webb-Giron, and Sahara Hendrix-Nichols and brother, Scott Bradley Borden all of Bloomington.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with Brother Glenn Stidd officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 4-8.
