Ruth E. Huntington, 88, of Ohio Street died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Huntington was a member of East Columbus Christian Church.
Born in Hayden June 10, 1919, Mrs. Huntington was the daughter of Edward and Minnie Adler Schafer. She married
William W. Huntington April 9, 1944.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn J. Smith of Columbus; sisters, Margaret (Ted) Staublin of Columbus, Elsie (Charlie) Hatfield of Columbus and Edna Bowling of Hayden; grandchildren, Debbie Redicker of Columbus and Melissa (Tom) Ortiz of Clarksville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Erica Smith, Tasha Ware, Michelle Ware and Michael Ware; and great-great-grandchildren, Isaiah Ware, Eric Ware and Yesina Ware.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 13, 1990; a son, William E. Huntington on March 13, 2007; a brother, Earl Schafer; and sisters, Mary Nicholson, Ethel Thurston, Louise Crider and Elizabeth Tiemeyer.
FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. David Armstrong officiating.
VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday.
BURIAL: Garland Brook cemetery.

Elizabeth Trotta
May 11, 1912 - February 23, 2008
Elizabeth Trotta, 95, of Pine Ridge Drive, Columbus, Ind., died at 5:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008, in Columbus.
Elizabeth was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. She and her husband moved from Downer’s Grover, Illinois to Columbus, Indiana in 1978.
Mrs. Trotta was born May 11, 1912, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Moscata) D’Ambrosio. She married
Michael Trotta April 26, 1930.
Survivors include a son, Paul M. (Marilyn) Trotta of Columbus, Ind.; a daughter, Carole A. (Joseph) Fisher of Downer’s Grove, Ill.; a sister, Theresa Fortino of West Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Michael (Becky) Trotta of Indianapolis, Ind., Martha (James) McGillivray of Bloomington, Ind.; Sarah (John Reed) Trotta of Indianapolis, Ind., Paul (Lori) Trotta Jr. of Columbus, Ind., Elizabeth (Frank) Muelhausen of Palm Coast, Fla. and Michael (Sue) Fisher, Julie (Larry) McFarlan, and Cynthia (Mark) Porcaro, all of Downer’s Grove, Ill.; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Trotta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-grandchild; and brothers, Richard, Jack, James, Frank and Anthony D’Ambrosio.
FUNERAL: Will be conducted Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Clem Davis officiating.
VISITATION: Will be Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with a Rosary service being conducted at 7:30 p.m. Calling will also be on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
ENTOMBMENT: Will be at Garland Brook cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to St. Judes Children's Hosptial or Riley Hospital for Children.
James N. Lawson

James N. Lawson, 82, of Franklin, formerly of Columbus, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Franklin Meadows Nursing Home
Mr. Lawson retired in 1983 from Thompson Dairy. He served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 9, 1943, until April 10, 1946, on the U.S.S. Comfort hospital ship. He was a life member of Columbus Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He dearly loved animals and music and never met a stranger.
Born in Gatesville Feb. 16, 1926, Mr. Lawson was the son of David and Mary E. Morrison Bannister.
Survivors include a son, Michael S. (Edna) Lawson of Franklin; daughters, Carlotta G. (Gary) Mitchell of Louisville, Ky., and Sarah J. Lawson of Columbus; grandchildren, Tammy Smith, Steven Mitchell, Betsy and Matthew Fields, Shawn and Alan Atwood and Donna Bell; and great-grandchildren, Brooke and Gary Smith and Clayton and Ashton Fields.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Lawson, in 1991; three brothers; and one sister.

Elsie M. Rains Lowe Partenheimer, 91, of State Street, formerly of 720 Maple St., died at 5:04 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Partenheimer was of the Baptist faith. She was the family historian and enjoyed passing down family stories. She also enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Born in Wayne County, Ky., June 15, 1916, Mrs. Partenheimer was the daughter of James Marcus and Cora Ann Guffey Rains. She married
Hubert Arnold Lowe Oct. 10, 1931.
She is survived by sons, Willard (Barbara) Lowe, Hobert (Sally) Lowe and Allen Lowe, all of Columbus, Harley (Janice) Lowe of Alcoa, Tenn., and Don (Brenda) Lowe of Columbus; daughters, Gladys (Bill) Lovins of Waymansville, Perna (Ron) Reed of Clarksville, Tenn., Hazel Pendleton and Ann (Rick) Jackson, both of Columbus; a half brother, Willie Dishman of Florida; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 14, 1963; a son, Ernie Eugene Lowe; daughters, Jane Colleen Lowe and Josephine McMillian; brothers, Everett, Kelly and Jesse Hubert Rains; sisters, Edna Plowman and Mable Jones; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.
