Jackie Gilbert Dutro

Jackie Gilbert Dutro, 63, of Jerseyville, Ill., died at 10:21 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at his home.
Mr. Dutro previously lived and was employed in Grafton, Ill., before moving to Jerseyville where he co-owned Poor Man’s Art Gallery. He enjoyed music, old Westerns, dressing up in his Western outfit and American History, particularly Civil War memorabilia.
He also enjoyed riding horses and his motorcycle.
Born in Bartholomew County April 10, 1946, Mr. Dutro was the son of Leonard D. and Goldie F. Pittman Dutro.
He is survived by a daughter, Rachel Mayers of Indiana; five grandchildren; a brother, Danny D. Dutro of Columbus; a sister, Tyra Cataline of Columbus; and nieces and nephews, Kristina (Richard) Henry, Tina (John) Simon, Danny F. (Linda) Dutro and Sarah Cataline.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bonnie K. Dutro.
FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Rowe officiating.
VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 at the funeral home.
BURIAL: Daugherty cemetery.

Regina Belle Garrison
July 31, 1928 - January 08, 2010
R. Belle Daniels Garrison, 81, North Vernon died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 at Jennings County Health Care.
Belle was born July 31, 1928, in Burkesville, Kentucky to parents Alex and Rhett Wyatt Holman. She was a loving mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading the bible and collecting owls. Regina was a member of Lowell General Baptist church.
Belle is survived by her husband James Garrison Jr. sons, Jeff (Abby) Daniels of Columbus and Kevin (Renee) Daniels of Scipio; daughters, Rebecca (Roger) Mitchell of Dupont, Jane Sanders of Elizabethtown and Glenda (James) White of Columbus; step daughters, Luretta Clark and Linda (Gary) Chambers, both of Columbus and Jodi Heldaman of Greenwood; a brother, Grady Holman of Burkesville, Kentucky; sisters, Betty (James) Crawford of Tennessee and Mildred Holman of Kentucky; 13 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Edmond Daniels who passed May 7, 1975. a son, Johnny Daniels; brothers Lester Holman and Harold Holman; sisters, Ruby Gross and Alyne Holman.
FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Monday, January 11, 1010 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Poynter, assisted by James White, officiating.
VISITATION: 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service on Monday.
BURIAL: Garland Brook cemetery

Brent S. Muellenberg
June 18, 1964 - February 21, 2008
Brent S. Muellenberg, 43, of Utica, New York and formerly of Indiana passed away Thursday February 21, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in New York.
Brent was born June 18, 1964 in Columbus, Indiana the son of Douglas and Mary Foist Muellenberg. He was a sixteen year U.S. Veteran serving in the National Guard and the Army, retiring as a Captain in 2000. Brent earned his Master’s Degree and PhD from Indiana University. He was employed with Stryker Orthopedics in New York, as well as having lived New Castle, where he was employed as the Henry County Health Officer.
Surviving are his parents, Douglas and Mary of Columbus; his girlfriend, Kristy Hammonds of Utica, New York and her children, Zaiah, Maya, and Hanna; one brother, Bruce Muellenberg, of Columbus; nieces, Robin (Jim) Line, Karen (Casey) Matern of Columbus; aunts, Eva May McMillan and Eileen (Michael) Bennett of Columbus, and great nieces, great nephews and several cousins; close friends, Bill Church of Utica, Jane Waldron of Utica, and Kelly DeRider of Barneveld, New York.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Muellenberg; grandparents, Linuel (Ted) and Eva Jones Foist of Columbus, and Frank and Emiline Muellenberg of South Dakota; an uncle, Joseph McMillan and a cousin, Cynthia (McMillan) Gabbard of Columbus.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Saturday, March 1, 2008, 4:00 P.M at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus.
VISITATION: Friday February 29, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of services at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus. There was a visitation at Nunn McGrath Funeral Directors in Utica, New York this past Sunday.
Remembrances in Brent’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
Kathaleen M. Williams
November 18, 1910 - October 06, 2009
Kathaleen M. Smith Williams, 98, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away October 6, 2009. She was born in Freeport, Illinois, November 18, 1910, but lived 38 years in Terre Haute, Indiana, 30 years in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and 8 years in Columbus.
She worked for Kresge/K-mart for 40 years and was office manager for 30 of those years. She was a member of the Altrusa Club of Terre Haute and Terre Haute Symphony and a 32-year member of Terre Haute First Congregational Church.
In Lawrenceburg, she was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, the Elks Ladies, Community Mental Health and Hillforest Historical Society and was a life member of the Underhill Society of America.
She is survived by her son, Norm (Beth) Smith of Columbus; her stepson, Dick Williams Jr. of Jeffersonville, IN; two sisters, Shirley Walsh of Batavia, Illinois, and Patricia Harrer of North Canton, Ohio; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Hassee of Greenwood, IN and Carol Tucker of Columbus; five great-granddaughters, Brittany, Mackenzie and Annie Hassee of Greenwood, IN and Emily and Courtney Tucker of Columbus; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the widow of Hiram J. Smith and Richard Williams. Her parents, three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
FUNERAL: A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Al Styron officiating.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Roselawn Memorial Park cemetery in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Ernest E. Grapevine
November 30, 1916 - October 05, 2009
Ernest E. Grapevine, 92, of Greensburg died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Grapevine, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of First Church of God in Greensburg, was a tenant farmer for Roy and Morgan Miers and previously worked at Johnson Wholesale in Greensburg. He was a graduate of Paris Crossing High School and enjoyed playing bingo and euchre.
Born in Commiskey Nov. 30, 1916, Mr. Grapevine was the son of Leonidas and Carrie Robbins Grapevine. He married
Lois Fay Sullivan Dec. 4, 1944. She preceded him in death Jan. 7, 1983. He married
Ina Mae Shearer in 1987. She preceded him in death May 25, 2007.
Survivors include sons, Stanley Grapevine of Columbus and Jim (Lisa) Grapevine of St. Paul; a stepson, George Tomlin; daughters, Darlene (John) Lee of Westport, Valerie (Laverne) Wait of Freetown and Lynette Henderson of Westport; stepdaughters, Geraldine Henry and Carolyn Derflinder; a sister, Charlotte Crippen of Burney; grandchildren, John and Jerry Lee, Steven DeWayne Grapevine, Stacy Marie Foster, Scott Henderson, Heather Vinson, Robert Dean Tice, Trina Hammack, Ernest E. Tice and Latricia Grapevine; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, both wives, four brothers, one grandson and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. David Little officiating.
VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
BURIAL: Garland Brook cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
Harold E. "Gene" Stoughton
November 05, 1933 - April 27, 2006
Harold E. “Gene” Stoughton, 72, of West Robbie Street died at 2:11 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Stoughton lived most of his life in Columbus and attended Columbus High School. He operated a service station on Second Street before working with Doyle Todd Buick and also managed the Wilson Olds body shop. He had been service manager at Three Guys Inc. and retired in 1996 from Northern Paint Store. For the past 10 years, he did custom woodworking.
He was a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and raced for many years, enjoyed NASCAR, model airplanes and trains, guns and golfing.
Born in Johnson County Nov. 5, 1933, Mr. Stoughton was the son of Raymond L. and M. Ruth Reed Stoughton. He married
Ilene M. Romine Feb. 14, 1953.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tony Dean Stoughton of Columbus; a daughter, Gina Gayle (Mike) Allen of Hope; grandchildren, Cody R. and Amy M. Stoughton, both of Columbus, and Travis L. and Lyle W. Castetter, both of Hope; and a great-grandchild, Trynten W. Stoughton of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. Meek.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bridgewater officiating.
VISITATION: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006 and from 1 p.m. until service time Monday.

Helen Baker
April 06, 1929 - December 25, 2008
Helen Baker, 79, of Pennsylvania Street in Columbus, Indiana died at 5:20 a.m. Thursday, December 25, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Helen was part owner of Baker’s T.V. and appliances. She also had worked at North High School cafeteria, Lemley’s, Standard Grocery and Cummins cafeteria. Helen played college basketball at Del Mar College. She also played softball and was a girls’ slow pitch softball coach. She was also a Girl Scout leader.
Mrs. Baker was born April 6, 1929 in Berclair, Texas, the daughter of Mable Towles Vallee. She married
Robert L. Baker March 6, 1952.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert (Sue) Baker Jr. of Columbus, Ind.; daughters, Robin Baker and Patti Taylor, both of Columbus, Ind.; a brother, Casey (Sue) Vallee of Wisconsin; grandchil-dren, Nicole Brown, Derek Baker, Kendra Taylor and Brandon Taylor; a great-grandchild, Rylan Brown; and a son-in-law, Ken Taylor of Columbus, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and a sister, Carolyn Mullins.
FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Kennedy officiating.
VISITATION: Will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
BURIAL: Will be at Garland Brook cemetery.
