LaVonne G. Osborne, 83, Indianapolis, passed away June 6, 2010. She was born July 26, 1926 in Rush County to the late Bernard L. and Lora P. Pribble Reed. LaVonne married
George Osborne on September 18, 1948 in Rushville and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2007. She was a 1944 graduate of Rushville High School and had one year of advanced studies. She was employed 17 years at Indiana Bell retiring in 1972 as a unit supervisor. Her memberships and associations were Center United Methodist Church, Indy Skyline ABWA Chapter, Southport Chapter No. 442 Order of Eastern Star (50) years, Round Hill Union cemetery Association Treasurer, Election Poll Volunteer for 30 years and former Center United Methodist Church Financial Secretary and Treasurer for 23 years. Her survivors are daughter Lorraine Elysabeth of Indianapolis; brother Bobby Reed of Rushville; nieces Lora Jean Ryse and Terry Hall both of Rushville; nephew James Reed of Indianapolis; great niece and nephew Angel Hall and Allen Hall both of Rushville; godson Preston Brownell of Phoenix, AZ. She was also preceded in death by her brother Darmond L. Reed. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 10 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with visitation 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9 at the mortuary. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial gifts have been suggested to Center United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 5445 Bluff Road, Indianapolis 46217.

Sarah Ann (Wooley) Semon Dunaway, 79, Indianapolis, passed away June 5, 2010. She was born September 26, 1930 in Osgood, Indiana to the late Charles and Beamont Ewing Wooley. She married
Floyd William Semon in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1978. She later married
Curtis GuthrieDunaway in 1998 and he preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Barry) Rose of Lawrence; sons Tony Semon of Indianapolis, John (Wendi) Semon of Martinsville, and Thomas (Lorette) Semon of Holly Springs, NC; 19 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother Charles 'Bud' (Sharon) Wooley of Osgood; and sister Betty Canada of Covington, KY. Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 9 in Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with visitation 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 8, at the mortuary. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memory Gardens. Memorial gifts have been suggested to Ruth Lilly Hospice, 1815 North Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202.

His survivors are wife Loretta Bales, sons David (Angela) Bales, Mooresville and Dale (Sara) Bales, Marysville, MI; daughter Dana (Kenneth) King, Indianapolis, step daughter Julia 'Nicki' (Matt) Thompson, Clayton; step son Heath (Amy) Pingleton, Coatesville and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Dale L. and Dorothy E. Kinser Bales. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Arthur Ray Bridgewater

Arthur Ray Bridgewaters, 53, of Cloverdale, died January 7, 2010 at Regional Hospital following complications from a stroke.
He was born in Brazil, IN November 24, 1956 to Raymond and Ethel (Frazier) Bridgewaters.
Art graduated from Brazil High School. Following high school he worked at the Terre Haute Airport as well as at Lear Corporation, Blue Lightening Express, and Townsend Tree Service. He married
Thalnia Galloway April 7, 1984. Art enjoyed spending time with his family and many pets.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond Bridgewaters Jr. and Vernon Bridgewater; nephews Johnny Osborn and Kenny Dodson Jr.; brother-in-law Kenny Dodson Sr..
Survivors include his wife Thalnia; two children: Shawn Galloway and Samantha Bridgewaters; sisters Louise Dodson and Merrilen Cooprider; brother Bob Bridgewaters; step-brother Tommy Tedder; step-sister Karen Nischan; as well as several extended family members.
Services will be at Lawson-Miller Chapel Monday, January 11, 2010 at 1:00pm with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 11am until time of services. At his request cremation services will be provided.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Ernest E. Freese

Ernest E. Freese, 95, of Sycamore Street, Columbus, Ind., died Friday, March 6, 2009, at 8:10 a.m. at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Ernest earned his Associates Degree from Central Normal College. He graduated from Butler University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1953. In 1954 he received his Master’s Degree in Education from Indiana University. Ernest was a member of NEA, as well as the alumni associations of Butler and Indiana universities. He was a lifelong member of First Christian Church and enjoyed bowling, playing cards and gardening.
Mr. Freese was born September 13, 1913, in Brown County, Ind., the son of John Calvin and Nancy Elizabeth Kirts Freese. He married
Viola Freese in July, 1969.
Survivors include a son, Ronald L. (Carol) Freese of Columbus, Ind.; a daughter, Barbara L. (Donald) Olkiewicz of Columbus, Ind.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Freese was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Freese;a daughter, Phyllis Joan Freese; a stepson, James Christian; a grandchild, Brian John Freese; and brothers, Ray, Walter, Earl, Willie and John Freese.
FUNERAL: Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Al White officiating.
VISITATION: Monday, March 9, 2009, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 am. until time of services.
BURIAL: Garland Brook cemetery.

Carl W. Mikesell, 27, of Morgantown, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Mikesell is survived by mother, Trina Spencer Mikesell of Morgantown; and a brother, Shawn N. Mikesell of Morgantown.He was preceded in death by his father, Norman K. Mikesell.

Ames H. Miller
July 29, 1919 - February 27, 2008
Ames H. Miller, 88, of Central Avenue died at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Ames was a WWII Army veteran in the 83rd infantry division, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart and American Defense Service Ribbon. Ames and his wife were instrumental in starting the Veterans Memorial Wall in Camp Atterbury. He was previously employed by Wilson Motors, retiring in 1985 and was employed at Senior Products, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of Garden City Church of Christ.
Mr. Miller was born July 29, 1919 in Brownlee, Neb. the son of Jay Edward and Katherine Barbara Krueger Miller. He married
Helen L. Davis Oct. 11, 1958.
Survivors include his wife; children Harry Richard (Beth) Miller, James Dale (Donna) Miller and Barbara (Russell) Hobbs, all of Columbus and Edward (Khin) Miller of Seabeck, Washington; a sister, Katherine Simonson of Mullen, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Louise Helen Miller of North Platte, Neb.; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Miller, Jay Miller, Percy Miller, Earl Miller and David Miller; sisters Rosa Edelman and Mabel Young.
FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Clotfelter officiating..

James R. Ford Jr., 27, died at 8:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Columbus Regional Hospital. James was born to James R. Ford Sr. and Janice Bailey Ford on August 13, 1982. James graduated from Columbus East High School in 2000. James loved to hunt and fish and was a devoted father. He was formerly employed by Grass Luvers. James was survived by his mother, Janice Bailey Ford of Columbus; his companion, Jennifer Hubbard; sons, Jaden Ford of Columbus and Jameson Ford of Columbus; a daughter, Jasmine Ford of Columbus; and a brother, Joshua Ford of Columbus. James was preceded in death by his father.
FUNERAL: Will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jewell-Rittman funeral home with Rev. Mark Douglas officiating.
VISITATION: Will be Monday February 15, 2010 from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Tuesday 12:30 pm until time of service.

Amy Rae Elifritz

Amy Rae Elifritz, 20, of Columbus, died at 10:55 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Columbus Regional Hospital, due to complications from a flu virus.
She was a 2008 graduate of Columbus North High School and was a graphic design student at Ivy Tech.
Born in Columbus Oct. 16, 1989, Miss Elifritz was the daughter of Ray and Lisa Buchanan Elifritz of Columbus.
Also surviving is a sister, Sara Elifritz of Columbus; grandparents, Dolly and Raymond “Fritz” Elifritz of Columbus and Delema Harrison of Southport; a great-grandmother, Elsie Allman of Columbus; uncles, Mark Elifritz and Danny Elifritz, both of Columbus; an aunt, Diana Buchanan of Southport; a great-aunt, Laquita Peterson; and cousins, Molly and Cass Elifritz and Libby and Lauren Calkins.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Richard “Bigfoot” Buchanan; and great-grandparents, Stanley “Doc” Allman, Gordon Buchanan, Leila Buchanan and Elarea and Clyde Harrison.

Scott W.R. Sheppard

Scott W.R. Sheppard, 13, of Road 265N, Columbus, Ind., died at 4:44 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
Scott loved hanging out with his friends, especially Dakota, Kyle and his cousin Jordan. He loved fishing and spending time with his “Grandpa Richard, ” who preceded him in death.
Scott was born August 27, 1996, in Indianapolis, the son of Douglas Sheppard and Cuca Mary Herrera.
Survivors include his father, of Columbus; his mother, of Columbus; sisters, Rosemary Herrera of Phoenix, Ariz., and Gabriel Herrera, Jennifer Herrera and Casey Purvis, all of Columbus, Ind.
Scott was preceded in death by his uncle and grandparents.
CALLING: 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2009, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
FUNERAL: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
