James Luby Baker, age 72 of Mooresville, Indiana, died March 4, 2004 at his home of natural causes. He was born January 9, 1932 in Wayne County, North Carolina to the late James Osborne & Bettie Beaula Bass Baker.
He retired in 1995 after 33 years as a maintenance supervisor for Blue & White Services, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a member of Springhill Christian Center, Mooresville, Indiana and was a Korea Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife Naomi Ruth New Baker (Married April 4, 1952) of Mooresville, Indiana; sons Rocky A. Baker of Mooresville, Indiana, Ronald C. Baker of Indianapolis, Indiana, Rodney O. Baker of Monrovia, Indiana and Jeffrey J. Baker of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters Pamela D. Eberhardt of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sharon E. Beaver of Bangkok, Thailand, Bonita R.. Haer & Carolyn V. DeCamp of Mooresville, Indiana; brother Eugene M. Baker of Dunn, North Carolina; sister Edith M. Westbrook of Newton Grove, North Carolina; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Calling is Sunday, March 7, 2004 from 3-8 P.M. in Springhill Christian Center, 12150 N. Rooker Road, Mooresville, Indiana. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M., Monday, March 8, 2004 in Springhill Christian Center. Revs. Mark, Wright, William Wright and Jerry Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow in Center Valley cemetery, Clayton, Indiana.

Herman Vernon Hamilton, age 68 of Mooresville, Indiana, died March 8, 2004 in Morgan Hospital and Medical Center, Martinsville, Indiana. He was born August 6, 1935 in Morgan County, Indiana to the late Cleo & Eddie Clay Barnett Hamilton.
he had worked for the past 17 years as a welder for Estes Design & Manufacturing, Indianapolis, Indiana. Previously for several years he owned and operated H.V. Hamilton Insulation. He was also preceded in death by a son Charles V. Hamilton and a brother Lem Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife Tamyra Lynn Shrake Hamilton (Married February 8, 1962) of Camby, Indiana; daughter Tonya Ridgeway of Martinsville, Indiana; brother Charles Hamilton of Plainfield, Indiana; sisters Josephine Hurst of Greenwood, Indiana, Hazel Jordan of Georgia and Nan Lyons of Monticello, Indiana and 2 grandchildren Christina & Stefanie Shrake.

James Howard Shaw, age 78 of Mooresville, Indiana, died March 10, 2004 in Community Hospital South, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born May 2, 1925 in Slick Rock, Kentucky to the late Chester H. Shaw & Ethel Bunch Hodges.
He retired in 1988 after 39 years an an inspector for Allison Gas Turbine Plant 5 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Lifeline Baptist Church in Mooresville and was a member of the Mooresville VFW Post #1111. He was a WW II Navy Veteran being honorably discharged in 1946.
Survivors include his wife Mary Lena Eckel Shaw (Married February 20, 1954) of Mooresville, Indiana; sons Daniel B. Shaw of Mooresville, Indiana, Scott A. Shaw of Orlando, Florida, Gary W. Shaw of Glasgow, Kentucky and Steve H. Shaw of Mooresville, Indiana; sister Marie Johnson of Glasgow, Kentucky and 3 grandchildren.
Calling is Friday, March 12, 2004 from 4-8 P.M. in Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, Indiana. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Lyman Taylor at 10 A.M., Saturday, March 13, 2004 in the funeral chapel. Burial with Military Honors will follow in White Lick cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana. Teresa Jane Melvin, age 47 of Mooresville, Indiana, died March 30, 2004 in Mooresville, Indiana. She was born April 14, 1956 in Morgan County, Indiana.
She was an electroplated for 6 years for Sumco, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a member of the United Steelworkers of America Local 1999-10. She was preceded in death by her father Loren Collins.
Survivors include her mother Velma Gertrude Bayliff Collins of Mooresville, Indiana; son Jeremy D. Melvin of Mooresville, Indiana; daughter Angela D. Melvin of Mooresville, Indiana; brother Gene Collins of Gosport, Indiana and Alan Collins of Mooresville, Indiana; sisters Linda Burmeister of Mooresville, Indiana, Ruth Ferguson of Centerton, Indiana and Nancy Sue Smith of Indianapolis, Indiana and 1 grandson.

Burchel "Shorty" Allen

Burchel "Shorty" Allen, age 81 of Mooresville, Indiana, formerly of Camby, Indiana died March 18, 2004 in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Mooresville, Indiana. He was born April 6, 1922 in Clay County, Kentucky to the late Marion & Dora Abner Allen.
He retired in 1986 after 30 years as a truck driver for Sodrel Truck Lines, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the widower of Callie Glen Bishop Allen whom he married
November 28, 1940 and who died May 15, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a son Carl Wayne Allen; brothers Robert, Lucius, Henry and Arthur Allen; sisters Flora Bishop and Lena Allen.
Survivors include daughter Geraldine "Gerri" Van Winkle of Camby, Indiana; sons Clifford Allen of Mooresville, Indiana and Donnie G. Allen of Waverly, Indiana; sister Alva Bishop of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother Preston Allen of Ohio; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Hay Rambole Zumbrun, age 78 of Mooresville, Indiana, died March 21, 2004 at her home of natural causes. She was born July 4, 1925 in Gessie, Indiana to the late Garcia & Della Marie Banks Hay.
She retired in 1989 after 9 years as weigh master for Dalton Asphalt Company, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a member of the Mooresville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was the widow of Bill E. Rambole, Sr. and Fred Zumbrun. She was also preceded in death by her son Bill E. Rambole, Jr. and sister Helen Pauline Campbell.
Survivors include her daughter Pennie A. Fields of Mooresville, Indiana; sister Mary Alice Sommers of Lowell, Indiana; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Phyllis Irene Robertson Giffin, age 91 of Indianapolis, Indiana, died March 22, 2004 in Eagle Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born February 13, 1913 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Walter Elmer & May Belle Hogan Robertson.
She retired in 1971 after 5 years as a veterinary assistant for the James Animal Clinic, Hickory Corners, Michigan. She was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the widow of Robert Allen Giffin whom she married
June 25, 1935 and who died October 26, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a brother John Henry Robertson and a sister Nada E. Conley.
Survivors include a sister Katherine McGregor of Indianapolis, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Marshall Henry "Shorty" Mowery, Sr.

Marshall Henry "Shorty" Mowery, Sr., age 66 of Mooresville, Indiana, died March 30, 2004 in Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born June 21, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William Henry & Beatrice Douglas Mowery.
He retired in 1989 after 30 years as a welder/repairman for GM Truck & Bus Division of Chevrolet, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mooresville, Indiana, UAW, and the Mooresville Optimist Club. He was a volunteer for the Mooresville Senior Citizens Center and for the Henderson Settlement Mission trips with his church. He was a 5 1/2 year lung transplant survivor and an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a "Never Too Late Make A Wish Foundation Recipient" receiving a brunch with Dolly Parton and attending her concert in Dollywood.
Survivors include his wife Judith Louise Sumner Mowery (Married October 5, 1957) of Mooresville, Indiana; sons Marshall H. Mowery, Jr. of Peachtree City, GA, Allen L. Mowery of Morgantown, IN and Jeffrey S. Mowery of St. Charles, IL; daughter Pamela R. McClain of Indianapolis, IN; brother Arthur Mowery of Indianapolis, IN; sisters Mary Turner & Caroline Estep of Indianapolis, IN; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Robert Lee Alsup, age 44 of Mooresville, Indiana, died March 19, 2004 in Morgan Hospital and Medical Center Emergency Room, Martinsville, Indiana. He was born December 3, 1959 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Charles T. & Doris M. Wilhide Alsup.
He had worked as a grill cook 11 1/2 years for Mooresville McDonalds.
Survivors include his sister Barbara Alsup of Mooresville, Indiana.

Barbara Ann Neitzel, age 73 of Mooresville, Indiana died March 24, 2004 at her home of natural causes. She was born June 3, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She possessed a keen eye for antiques and was a self employed dealer since 1962. She was a member of Associated Antique Dealers of America and held office in the Central Indiana Antique Dealers Association. She was also a member of the International Studebakers Drivers Club, the Antique Studebaker Car Club and the Historic Auto Club. She was a judge at the Indiana State Fair in the Antiques Department for several years and was an exhibitor for many years at the Hoosier Antiques Exposition.
Survivors include her husband David Neitzel (Married September 10, 1948) of Mooresville, Indiana; sons Mark Allen & Dana Edward Neitzel of Mooresville, Indiana; mother Marjorie Willet Daily Wren of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother Palmer David Wilson of Indianapolis, Indiana; 4 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
