LeeRoy Hutchison, 66, Anderson, died Aug. 15, 2003, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 31, 1936, in Paris, Ky., and lived in Anderson most of his life. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment and was owner/operator of J & N Trucking Co. Inc.
He attended Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and wrestling. He was past president of the Frankton Little League.
He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine (Yeager) Hutchison, whom he married Feb. 3, 1962; four children, Sandy (husband, Chris) Simpson of Anderson, Ramona (husband, Mike) Fountain of Perkinsville, Melissa Hutchison and special . friend Bill of Anderson, and Todd Hutchison and special friend Raven of Anderson; two sisters, Billie Clay O'Neal of Anderson and JoAnne (Belford) Phillips of California; a brother, Pete (wife, Myrna) Hutchison of Anderson; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Dora (Jones) Hutchison; brothers, Ray Hutchison and John Thomas Hutchison; and two sons, James Lee Hutchison and Edgar R. Hutchison.
Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, North Chapel, Alexandria, with Dr. Sam Muncy officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today at the North Chapel.
Mark R. Matney
Dec. 15, 1960 -- Aug. 14, 2003
FAIRMOUNT -- Mark R. Matney, 42, Fairmount, died Aug. 14, 2003, in Madison County.
He was born Dec. 15, 1940, in Anderson, the son of James and Rosemary Matney of Fairmount. He was a 1979 graduate of Madison-Grant High School, a 1983 graduate of Purdue School of Engineering and a 1995 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan with a master's degree. He was a quality engineer at Guide Corp., Anderson.
He was a member of Reamer Club of Purdue University, ham radio operator call letters were KA9YIC. He enjoyed computers, golf and auto racing. He was an assistant coach for the Fairmount Little League Diamondbacks.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Gas City.
Survivors include his wife, Timi E. Matney, whom he married June 14, 1986; four children, Zachariah, Andrew, Noah and Mahala Ann, all at home; a brother, Dorin (Sue) Matney of Summitville; a sister, Nancy Shelton of Alexandria and her fiancee, Brian Kirkwood; grandmother, Annabelle Matney of Summitville; stepgrandmother, Mary Matney of Elwood; mother and father-in-law, Judy and Dave Moulton of Hartford City; brother-in-law, Blake (Lauren) Everhart of Eaton; and several nieces and nephews.
Prayer services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, Fairmount. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 325 E. North A St., Gas City, with the Rev. David Newton officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
Visitation will be 2 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A scripture service will be at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Matney Children Education Fund.
Mildred Rheam
July 7, 1912 -- Aug. 15, 2003
Mildred Rheam, 91, Anderson, went to her Eternal rest on Aug. 15, 2003, at Countryside Manor Healthcare.
She was born July 7, 1912, in Van Buren Township, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Lewis) Doyle. She had been a resident of Countryside Manor Healthcare Center since November 2002. She married Marion S. Rheam on Jan. 14, 1929. He died on Feb. 20, 1994.
She and her husband began their life together in Hartford City. They were farmers in Huntington County for several years living in the area of Monument City before moving to the Van Buren area where they farmed for 14 years. While living in Van Buren she worked at the Appliance Manufacturing Co. for 14 years. They moved to the Barbee Lakes near Warsaw in 1966. They owned and operated the Barbee Villas Resort from 1959 to 1985 before they moved to Anderson. She had resided in Anderson since 1985.
While a member of the Monument City and George Street Wesleyan churches she enjoyed working with the children's church. She loved to sing old songs, read, and was a basketball sports fan, and an avid Avon collector.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn (Roger) Bryant of Van Buren, Joyce Reese of Gas City and Evelyn Krieg of North Manchester; son, Ronald (Patsy) Rheam of Anderson; 28 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion S. Rheam; son, Marion E. Rheam; daughter-in-law, Bethada Rheam; son-in-law, Al Reese; granddaughter, Kim (Rheam) McCormick; great-grandson, William Billisitz; grandson, Marion Rheam; sister, Rilla Bartley; father, Joseph Doyle; and mother, Ethel Doyle.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hanfield United Methodist Church, 101 N. 400E, Marion, with the Revs. Fred Stayton and Tom Brodbeck officiating. Burial will be in Van Buren Cemetery
in Van Buren.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Ferguson Funeral Home, Van Buren, and one hour before services Monday at the church.

Robert L. Rittenhouse
Jan. 14, 1954 -- Aug. 14, 2003
ELWOOD -- Robert Lloyd Rittenhouse, 49, Elwood, died Aug. 14, 2003, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital.
He was employed by Pierce Co. in Upland.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Shannon) Rittenhouse; father, Frank Rittenhouse; mother, Jeanette (Smith) Rittenhouse; two sons, Robert (wife, Judy) Rittenhouse and Jayson (girlfriend, Jerri) Rittenhouse; two sisters, Lynn (husband, Dave) Luyet and Sue (husband, Terry) Shannon; five grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Dunnichay Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Hahn officiating. Burial will be in Aroma Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association through the funeral home.
Linda D. Swinford-Reed

Linda D. (Chesser) Swinford-Reed, 54, Anderson, died Aug. 13, 2003, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born Jan. 17, 1949, in Anderson, and was a lifelong Anderson resident. She was employed in production at Guide Lamp for 19 years, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of North Anderson Church of God. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1967.
She was a member of United Auto Workers Local 663. She loved her grandchildren.
Survivors included her husband of nearly four years, Morris R. Reed of Anderson, whom she married Oct. 23, 1999, in Anderson; mother, Mary J. (Day) Hilligoss (husband, Ralph Hilligoss) of Anderson; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Rebecca Swinford of Anderson; stepson, Regan M. Reed of Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Jerry Crawford of Murray, Ky.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Karen and Patrick Manship of Anderson; two grandchildren, Brittany Renee Swinford and Bryant Douglas Swinford, both of Anderson; two stepgrandchildren, Brandon Ferguson and Brad Ferguson of Anderson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Morris W. and Darlene Reed of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are five special friends, Julie Groce (companion, Bruce Hershberger) of Anderson, Steve and Janet Quate of Muncie, Herb and Elaine Hudson of Anderson, Dave and Anita Hannaford of Anderson, and Debbi and Woody Furney of Anderson; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas Swinford; father, Elmer Chesser; and a brother, Daniel Lee Chesser.

Noble H. West

Noble H. West, 79, Anderson, died Aug. 14, 2003, at St. John's Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Kirksville, Ill., and was a resident of this area for most of his life. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1999 as a toolmaker after 54 years of service.
He was a member of Bethany Christian Church. He was present Master of Frankton Masonic Lodge 607 as a 50-year member, present Sentinel Grand Council Cryptic Masons of Indiana, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple Shrine, Indianapolis, Anderson York Rite Bodies. He was a member and past president of Madison County Scottish Rite, Madison County Shrine Club, Sahara Grotto, Indianapolis, honorary member of Quincy Masonic Lodge 230, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Anderson Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 154, Ivy Rebekah Lodge 381, Order of the White Shrine, Order of Amaranth, American Legion and Farm Bureau. He will be remembered for his gifts of two-dollar bills.
He is survived by his wife, Ardella (Karns) West; children, Sherry Moss of Kentucky, Terry West of Muncie, Dale Adams of Anderson and Charles and wife Lisa Adams of Anderson; brother, Win Leon West of Kansas; sister, Eva Harrington of Texas; three grandchildren, Michael Edward Adams, Cambrie West and Corrissa West; and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded by his first wife, Donna West; and granddaughter, Brenna Adams.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, with Robert Bell officiating. Burial will be in K of P-IOOF Cemetery, Frankton. military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 266.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the South Chapel. A Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the South Chapel.
