Services were held Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Bro. Cletis Ellett officiated. Burial followed at Methodist cemetery in Ellettsville.

Betty L. Buchanan, 75, resident of Cloverdale, formerly of Greencastle, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle. Services will be held Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Larry Boswell and Pastor Donnie Watson will officiate. Interment will be in Danville South cemetery in Danville.

Rhoda C. Sink, 96, resident of Bloomington, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at the Golden Living Center (Fontainbleu). Services were held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington. Burial followed at Gosport cemetery.

Ralph T. Flinn, 62, resident of Orleans, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County. Services were held Monday, March 26, 2007 at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial will be at Cresthaven Memory Gardens in Bedford. Calling hours will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Dr. Frank J. Korn, M.D., 67, resident of Ellettsville, died Thursday, March 22, 2007. Visitation and services for the family were private. Arrangements are entrusted to Nathan Butler Funeral Home.

Winona Gertrude Watson, 92, of Gloucester, Virginia, formerly of Spencer and Indianapolis, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Walter Reed Convalescent Center. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 24, 2007 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. David Owens will officiate. Burial followed at Riverside cemetery.

Richard E. Close, 77, resident of Spencer died January 10, 2007 at his residence. Graveside rites were held Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Gross cemetery, located approximately one quarter mile West of Whitehall, Indiana just off State Rd. 43.

Mary E. (Sweeney) Derleth, 90, resident of Spencer, former long time resident of Indianapolis, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at The Residence of McCormick’s Creek in Spencer. Mass was held Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the St. Marks Catholic Church in Indianapolis.

Ethel I. McCallister, 91, resident of Spencer, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Spencer Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Warren Officiating. Burial followed at Riverside cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spencer Church of the Nazarenec/o the funeral home.

Esta A. Walters, 89, resident of Patricksburg, died Friday, March 16, 2007. Services were held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Dutch Bethel Church of Christ in Freedom. Church & Community Funeral Service is handling arrangements.

Marilyn Jean Helvie, 80, resident of Spencer, formerly of Anderson, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at Bell Trace Living Center in Bloomington Services were conducted Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. James Root officiated. Entombment followed at Chambersville cemetery. Memorial contributions should be directed to the Owen County Humane Society c/o the funeral home.

James R. Rice, 67, resident of Spencer, died Friday, March 16, 2007 at St. Anthony Hospital in Effingham, Illinois. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Spencer Christian Church with Pastor Robert Wilson officiating. Entombment followed at Chambersville cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spencer Christian Church c/o the funeral home.

Martha J. Sendmeyer, 77, resident of Cloverdale, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville. Services were held Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Rev. John Nees officiated. Interment was in Cloverdale cemetery.

Albert J. Haltom, 93, lifetime resident of Owen County, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital. Services were held Monday, March 19, 2007 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor Dick Poff officiated. Burial followed at Hudson Hill cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church c/o the funeral home.

Carrie Maxine Smith, 78, resident of Spencer, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Michael Douglas officiated. Burial followed at Oliphant cemetery in New Hope.

Ernest “Bud” H. Crites, 77, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly of Freedom, passed away Monday, March 12, 2007 at his residence in Florida where he had made his home the past 12 years. Graveside rites were held at Riverside cemetery on Saturday, March 17. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice.

Infant Michael Ray Hooker, son of Brandon C. Hooker and Jennifer L. White, was stillborn Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital. Graveside services were held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Mitchell cemetery. Rev. Don Phillips and Rev. Phillip Meredith officiated.

Loren Lincoln Spear, 85, resident of Rensselaer and former resident of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Jasper County Hospital-AlternaCare. Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service. Burial followed at Forest Hill cemetery in Shelbyville. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to Jasper County Hospital-AlternaCare, in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service.

Timothy “Tim” L. Buis, 46, resident of Spencer, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville. Rev. J.D. Sink will officiate. Burial will be in Coatesville cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Marvin Jane “Marty” Martin Myers, 62, resident of Clay City, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at her residence. Services will be conducted Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Clay City Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m., Friday, August 3, 2007 at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home and Saturday from 9 a.m. until services in the church. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Anna S. Hacker-Bailey, 45, resident of Bloomington, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Spencer. Pastor Shanon Benham will officiate. Arrangements were provided by Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville.

Helen G. Simes, 82, resident of Bloomington, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at West & Parish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor Alan Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow at Gross cemetery in Owen County. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 3 at the funeral home.

Thomas R. Young, 56, resident of Bloomington, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at his residence. Services were conducted Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Gundrum Funeral Home in Logansport. Jeff Strite officiated. Burial, with full military graveside rites, was in Mt. Hope cemetery in Logansport. Memorial contributions may be made to Champions Academy at www.championsacademy.org.

Bishop Robert “Bob” Eugene Anderson, 76, resident of Stinesville, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at his residence. Funeral services were held Monday, July 30, 2007 at Stinesville Pentecostal Church. Pastor Richard Anderson officiated. Burial followed at Chambersville cemetery. Chandler-Whitaker Funeral Home in Gosport was in charge of arrangements.

Eddie Lee Arbuckle, 70, resident of Bloomington and Apache Junction, Arizona, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Garden Villa Health Care Center in Bloomington. He had formerly lived in Muncie and Spencer. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Day Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Harry Pitts officiating. Cremation followed the service. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, 55 Kenosia Ave., P.O. Box 1968, Danbury, CT 06813-1968 or to the American Cancer Society.

Frank M. Bock, 58, resident of Martinsville, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital & Health Center in Beech Grove. There will be a private family memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Bertie Mae (Walker) Detraz, 96, resident of Spencer, died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Owen Valley Health Campus. Services were held Monday, July 30, 2007 at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Rev. Garland Rudd officiated. Interment followed at Vevay cemetery. The family requests memorials in memory of Bertie to the Cedar Creek Community Church.

Bridgette F. Rothenbush, 45, resident of Bloomington, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at her residence. Services were held Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington. Pastor Doug Schroeder officiated. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bridgette Rothenbush Children Fund in care of Allen Funeral Home.

Leo L. Wilson, 80, resident of Paragon, died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at his residence. Services were conducted Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Costin Funeral Chapel, Inc. in Martinsville. Rev. James Ackerman officiated. Burial with military service was held at Friendship Park cemetery in Paragon. Memorial contributions may be directed to Bloomington Hospital Hospice Unit.

Clarence “Bill” Daniels, 82, resident of Spencer, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor Bill Grandi officiated. Burial followed at Chambersville cemetery in Owen County.

Celetia Helton, 84, resident of Reelsville, formerly of Quincy, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at her residence. Services were held Friday, July 27, 2007 at Creekside House of Prayer in Millgrove. Bro. Wayne Baker officiated. Interment was at Cloverdale cemetery. Arrangements provided by Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale.

Gary Lee Rogers, 60, resident of Ellettsville, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at his residence. Services were conducted Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel. Burial was at Valhalla Memory Gardens, where military graveside rites were conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Alan C. “Tommy” Thompson, 85, resident of Speedway, died Monday, July 23, 2007. A graveside service with burial following will be held at Maplelawn cemetery in Flora, IN at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Alan to the Speedway Public Library, 5633 W. 25th Street, Speedway, IN 46224 or The American Cancer Society.

Edith Walls, 95, resident of Gosport, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Meadowood Health Pavilion in Bloomington. Funeral services were held Friday, July 27, 2007 at Liberty Church, of which she was a member. Norman Wells officiated. Burial followed at Liberty cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.

Paula Faye (Hutcherson) Barnes, 53, resident of Spencer, died Monday, July 23, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, July 26, 2007 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor Charles Evans officiated. Burial followed in DeFore cemetery in Freedom. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Owen County Public Library c/o the funeral home.

Junior E. McClure, 81, resident of Eminence, died Monday, July 23, 2007 at his residence. Private services and visitation were held. Interment was at Shumaker cemetery in Eminence. Arrangements provided by Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale.

Harry James Gillen Jr., 81, resident of Cloverdale, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle. Services were held Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Pastor Wes McClure officiated. Interment was in Cloverdale cemetery.

Albert C. Parrish, 80, resident of Eminence, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Plainfield Health Care Center. Services were conducted Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Eminence Christian Church. Rev. Ron Hallock officiated. Interment was in Shumaker cemetery in Eminence.

Carl T. Scott, 77, resident of Cloverdale, died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at his residence. Services were held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Bro. A. J. Cox officiated. Interment was in Cloverdale cemetery.

Paul C. Ault, 78, resident of Spencer, passed away Tuesday, July 17 at the Owen Valley Health Campus in Spencer. Graveside services were conducted Monday, July 23 at Riverside cemetery. Arrangements provided by the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Benjamin Matthew Tyler, infant, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007. Funeral services will be at a later date. Arrangements by Alexander North Chapel.

Hattie M. Collier, 89, resident of Indianapolis, died Monday, July 16, 2007. Services were conducted Thursday, July 19, 2007 at her church, Gosport Christian Church. Burial was at Gosport cemetery.
