Snyder, Barbara J., age 67, of Muncie, passed away unexpectedly Sunday Sept. 10, 2000 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Tipton, IN Oct. 27, 1932 and graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1950, received her Bachelor of Science in Languages from Purdue University in 1954. Mrs. Snyder was a school teacher with Indianapolis Public Schools while living in Indianapolis and a substitute teacher in Logansport and Muncie. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the The First Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon; and on the Ministry Guild; Pi Beta Alumni Club; a 50 year member of Tri Kappa in Logansport and Muncie; PEO; Ball Hospital Auxilary Board Member, where she was an active participant in the Pediatrics Charity Unit, and currently a weekly volunteer at the Dialysis Unit at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was on the Board of The Festival of Trees for over 10 years; the Board for The Muncie Symphony League; Secretary of the Cardinal Greenway Campaign; Director of Very Special Arts; and a volunteer at Christian Ministries. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Jerry R. Snyder; three sons, Brad (Amy) Snyder, Pleasanton, CA; Phillip and Doug Snyder, both of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Trent Snyder, both of Pleasanton, CA; her brother, William (Mary Ann) Jackson, of Rensselaer; her niece, Beth (Steve) Chambers of Plainfield, IN; and two nephews, Craig (Lisa) Jackson and Eric Jackson, both of Rensselaer, IN. Friends may call at the Meeks Mortuary from 4:00PM - 8:00PM on Wednesday Sept. 13, 2000. Funeral services will be held in The Sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church in Muncie at 11:00AM on Thursday Sept. 14, 2000. Friends may also call from 9:00AM til 11:00AM at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer. Graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens of Rensselaer at 11:00AM. Memorials maybe made to the National Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society, or the Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation.
