THOMAS J. MULLINS, 78, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was the owner and operator of Kentucky Fried Chicken for forty years.

Madge Richey, Scottsburg, Indiana

Brother: Rhondall (Janet) Mullins, Henryville, Indiana

Several Nieces and Nephews

One Grandchild

Funeral services will be held 2:PM Friday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with burial to follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Henryville. Visitation will be Friday from 9:AM until the time of service.

HOWARD ELLIS BERRY
HOWARD ELLIS BERRY, 85, passed away September 29, 2010, at his residence. He was a Navy WWII Veteran and an Iron Worker for Union #70 located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Surviving are:

Sons: Greg (Robin) Berry, Maukport, Indiana

Bruce (Mindy) Cline, Memphis, Indiana

Daughter: Dorinda (Michael) Kochert, New Albany, Indiana

Sister: Marjorie Woods Berry, Louisville, Kentucky

Five Great-Grandchildren

A memorial service will be held at 5:PM Saturday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:Noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Dare to Care Food Bank.

THOMAS E. COX, SR.
THOMAS E. COX, SR., 80, passed away Monday September 27, 2010 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was a boiler operator for the old Harshaw Chemical Company, and the new Englehart Chemical Company in Louisville. Thomas is a Mason, a member of the Northside Christian Church, and a member of the Boilermaker Union Local #40.

Survivors Include:

Wife: Georgia Cox, Clarksville, Indiana

Sons: Rick ( Mary) Bobay, Borden, Indiana

Tommy (Mauri) Cox, II, Henryville, Indiana

Daughter: Sheila Bobay, Corydon, Indiana

Brothers: Charlie Cox, Louisville, Kentucky

Eugene Klump, Kokomo, Indiana

Sisters: Dora (Roy) Moore, Greenville, Indiana

Doretta Hardesty, Louisville, Indiana

Ten Grandchildren

Two Great-Grandchildren

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of service on Thursday. Burial will be at Forrest Grove Cemetery, Saturday at 2:00 P.M.

BETTY BILLINGSLY
BETTY BILLINGSLY, 78, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010, at Hampton Oaks Nursing Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was a Homemaker, a lifetime member and past President of American Legion Post 204 Auxillary, and also a member of the Sellersburg Moose Lodge. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, George Billingsly, and a son, Kim Billingsly.

Surviving are:

Son: Jay Billingsly, Memphis, Indiana

Daughters: Tina (Bobby) Brocar, Charlestown, Indiana

Sister: Becky (John) Peek, Anderson, Indiana

Grandchildren: Hannah and Brad

Great-Grandson: Max

Funeral services will be held 1:PM Monday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with burial to follow at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8PM and anytime after 12:Noon on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Color Guard American Legion Post#204.

JONELL H. MILLS
JONELL H. MILLS, 69, entered eternal life Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at University Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She worked as a Bookkeeper for Walgreens, was a member of Safe Harbor Community Church, loved Bingo, playing cards, and enjoyed traveling. Jonell was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Darlene Hutchens, a son, Troy Mills, a daughter, Trella Mills, and a brother, Nevin Martin.

Son: Trent (Marilyn) Mills, Louisville, Kentucky

Daughters: Tronna (Roger) Faulkenburg, Clarksville, Indiana

Grandchildren: Kira Nichelson, Scott Nichelson, Briana Nichelson, Henry Boyd, KatarinaWalker, Alaina Walker, Ella Walker

Great-Grandchildren: Hailie Boyd, Caden Boyd, Tyler Nichelson

Funeral services will be held 4:PM Saturday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and anytime after 1:PM Saturday.

MABEL LOUISE THARP
MABEL LOUISE THARP, 83, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Scott Villa in Scottsburg, Indiana. She worked in Human Resources at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, was a 46 year member of Blue Lick Christian Church and served as Sunday School Teacher for the Women’s Class for 19 of those years. Mabel is preceded in death by her husband, Owen Stout Tharp.

Surviving are:

Son: David (Ruth) Tharp, Henryville, Indiana

Daughter: Donna Davis and her husband Norm Jellig, Louisville, Kentucky

Grandchildren: Christopher and Mary Ann Davis

Great-Granddaughter: Viviana Davis

Funeral services will be held 11:AM Wednesday at the Blue Lick Christian Church in Henryville with burial to follow at Bowery Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:Noon-8:PM at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg and anytime after 9:AM Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Blue Lick Christian Church.

EVERETT L. ALLEN
EVERETT L. ALLEN, 89, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was a Navy WWII Veteran, a member of St. Joe Hill Catholic Church and was employed by Colgate where he served seventeen years in the Security Department.

Surviving are:

Son: David Ray (Amanda) Allen, Sellersburg, Indiana

Daughters: Ruth Ellen (David) Lyle, Sellersburg, Indiana

MARTHA E. DIEFENBACH MEYER
MARTHA E. DIEFENBACH MEYER, 87, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany. She was the Director of Clark County Silver Creek Trustees Office for many years, a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Democratic Club, Sellersburg Parks, and St. Paul Bible Class.

Joe (Anne) Meyer, Margaret Meyer, Cynthia (Steve) Burkhardt, Ellen (Randy) Turner, Carrie Hayes and Family, Bonnie (Larry) Cormican

Funeral services will be held 3:PM Monday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sellersburg with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held 12-8PM Sunday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul School and Church or Providence Retirement Home.

JERRY W. HOWELL
JERRY W. HOWELL, 72, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was a Broker for Crestline Realty Company, owner of Howell Transportation and attended Willey’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife: Denita Howell, sisters: Dimple Howell, Ramona Goff and Marlene Muffet, brother: Roy Howell.

Visitation will be Thursday from 12-8PM at the funeral home and anytime after 9AM until the time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Forrest Grove Cemetery Fund.

CHARLES WILLIAM McCORY
CHARLES WILLIAM McCORY, 101, passed this earthly life into the loving arms of our Lord on Monday, November 22. He was born icon December 12, 1908 to Bella Long McCory and Charles McCory in New Albany.

He was a member of the Hamburg Church of Christ, Sellersburg; a 50 year member and Past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge, Buckner 631, Sellersburg; the Scottish Rite Club of Indianapolis; the Murat Shrine Club; past Worthy Patron – Eastern Star # 433; past Associate Guardian – Job’s Daughters, Bethel 73, Sellersburg; and past President of the Sunny Side Lion’s Club. He retired from Atlantic Richfield and the Sellersburg Water Company after many years of service.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Gretta McCammon McCory, His daughter, Charlene Pennington, his parents, a sister, Maurine Hayes, and a brother, Robert McCory.

Survivors Include:

Daughter: Patti (Bill) Scott, Jeffersonville, Indiana

Brother: Kenneth McCory, New Albany, Indiana

Grandchildren: Shannon (Winston) Griffin, London, Kentucky

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg with burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Masonic Services being at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

DONALD DUNCAN RUDDELL
DONALD DUNCAN RUDDELL, 80 years old, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Green Valley Care Center, New Albany. He founded the Gospel Tabernacle Church in 1956 and served as its Minister until his death, also served his country in the US Army until his separation in 1951.

Survivors include:

Wife: Anna Louise Ruddell, Sellersburg, Indiana

2 sons: Donald Ruddell, Jr (Lisa), New Albany, Indiana

William (Bill) Ruddell (Regina), Westfield, Indiana

Daughter: Mary Lewis (John, Charlotte, N.C.

Brother: Ralph Ruddell, Mission, TX

Sister: Dora Ann Hammett (Jerry), Clarksville,. IN

5 Grandchildren and 1 step Great Grandson

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Garr Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 11: AM Monday at the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville.
