Marion Marcella Grable, Funeral services for Marion Marcella Grable, 82, of Twelve Mile, Indiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver with the Pastor Teri White officiating.
She died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2004 in the Arbor of Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born July 16, 1921 in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of George and Mary Stuber Benedict.
On April 9, 1941, she married Lloyd L. Grable in Fulton, Indiana.
He preceded her in death on December 3, 1991.
She was a member of the Twelve Mile United Methodist Church.
She was employed by Kroger’s for many years and retired from Skinner’s Grocery in Twelve Mile after 35 years.
She was a member of the Twelve Mile Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star Lodge #557 since 1969 and was recently affiliated with the Royal Center Chapter #375 since February 14, 2001. She was a past Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Willing Workers Extension Homemakers Club since 1960, where she served as President for 10 years.
She enjoyed her friends and neighbors and spending time with all her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She collected miniature glass shoes, and she loved to read, hunt mushrooms, and fish. She loved the 4th of July parades in Twelve Mile.
She had compiled scrapbooks of community news clippings for at least 50 years, creating a great history of the Twelve Mile Community.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonita Lee and her husband John, Rochester, 4 sons, Larry Joe and his wife Sharon, Vidalia, Louisiana; Lloyd Ronald and his wife Nancy, Logansport; Richard and his wife Ann, Logansport, and Bruce Grable, Twelve Mile; seven granddaughters, Jodie Karr, Lisa Waltz, Cathy Grable, Teresa Gast, Heidi Amato, Hollie Grable and Amanda Lee; 5 grandsons, Chad Grable, Chuck Grable, Leslie Grable, Marty Lee, and Aric Lee; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Judith Costello and husband Gene, Kalamazoo, Michigan; one brother, Richard Benedict and his wife Delores, Emmett, Idaho; one sister-in-law, Alice Tocco, Walton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Gloria and Marilyn, and 2 brothers, George, Jr. (Pedro), and Dean.
Friends may call from 4-8:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004 and one hour prior to the services Tuesday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
An Eastern Star Service will be conducted Monday evening at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Twelve Mile United Methodist Church, Twelve Mile.

Richard Eugene "Dick" Cattin, Richard Eugene “Dick” Cattin, 74, of Macy, Indiana died at 8:43 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2004 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.
Born May 17, 1930 in Erie Township, Miami County, he was the son of Floyd Alton and Edith Elizabeth Repp Cattin.
On December 30, 1967, he was married to Ethel Lee Thomas, in Peru, Indiana, and she survives.
Mr. Cattin was very active in the Macy Community, serving on the town board as President for several years.
While he was on the town board, he worked hard to raise funds to build the Macy Park.
He served five years as the Town Marshall, and he served as an EMT, before retiring from the Macy-Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he volunteered for many years.
He was a member of the Peru Moose Lodge, the Elks, the American Legion and VFW, and the Eagles.
He was a member of the National Guard, serving the United States for 12 years.
A 1948 graduate of Chili High School, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, camping, hunting, farming, and gardening.
He played the accordion, and he especially enjoyed Polka Music.
He enjoyed doing carpentry work and spending time with his family.
He was previously employed by the Rich Valley Elevator, Burns Construction, and Schneider Transport in Greenbay, Wisconsin.
Survivors besides his wife include 7 sons:
Dennis Cattin, and his wife Bev of Macy, Indiana
Lloyd Lambert, and his wife Joan of Perrysburg, Indiana
Allen Lambert of Macy, Indiana
Lenny Lambert and his wife, Amy of Macy, Indiana
Glen Cattin and his wife Karen of Winimac, Indiana
John Cattin and his wife Vanessa of Peru, Indiana
Larry Cattin and his wife Tina of Perrysburg, Indiana
4 daughters:
Edith Browning, Macy, Indiana
Susan Shambarger and her husband Dave, Macy, Indiana
Pam Harper and her fiancé Dave Penicaro of Winimac, Indiana
Debbie Yerk of Indianapolis, Indiana
1 sister:
Sondra Houlihan and her husband Joe of Peru, Indiana
24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by 2 daughters Connie and Cindy Cattin and a son Michael Lambert.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2004 at McClain Funeral Home, 3500 West State Road 16, Denver with Rev. Steve Bate and Ship Shambarger officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Macy.
Friends may call from 3-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Macy Park Fund.

Mabel May Miller
Mabel May Miller, 96, of Northwoods Village Health Care, Kokomo, died at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2004.
Born April 4, 1908 in Converse, Indiana, she was the daughter of John F. and Ida Grace Turner.
On August 24, 1929, she was married to Gordon L. Row; he preceded in death on August 23, 1975.
She was then married to John Miller on July 10, 1994; he preceded in death on August 13, 2002. Mr. Miller was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Rich Valley United Methodist Church.
She loved the Lord and taught Sunday School for many years.
Mabel was a member of the Republican National Committee, Senatorial Inner Circle, the National Congressional Club, and the Republican Presidential Task Force.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Helen Marie Moloch and her husband, Lewis of Kokomo, IN; a step-son, Dale Miller and his wife Deanna, Peru, IN; two brothers, Wilson Turner, Converse and Paul Davidson, Ft. Myers, Florida; two sisters, Ada Turner, Momence, Illinois and Lorene Ice, Mishawaka, Indiana; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren, and 6 step-great great grandchildren. Also surviving is one who spent much time in her home; Tim Ross of Wabash, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Turner; three sisters, Ruth Vancama, Eva Murray, Pauline Davidson; a step-brother, Frank Hartteroad, a step-sister, Beatrice Prickett; a half-brother, Charles Turner and a half-sister, Josephine Jackson.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2004 at McClain Funeral Home, 3500 West State Road 16, Denver, with Rev. Forrest Bowers officiating.
Burial will follow in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Wabash County. Friends may call from 2-5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004 at the funeral home.
Oliver Powell, Graveside Services for Oliver Powell will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.
Friends may call from 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Carl Addison "Bus" Miller
DENVER -- Services for Carl Addison "Bus" Miller, 87, of Perrysburg, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Skinner Worship Chapel, near Twelve Mile.
He died at 8 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2004, in his residence.
Born Dec. 23, 1916, in Perrysburg, he was the son of Roscoe and Lucinda Lockwood Miller.
On Dec. 20, 1941, he was married to Jeanette Lavon of Wabash, who survives.
Mr. Miller lived his entire life in Perrysburg.
He and his wife recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary.
His father started Miller's Sawmill in 1927, where Carl worked from the age of 16 until the business closed in 2002.
Always intrigued with woodworking, he became interested in scrollsaw work when he was past the age of 80.
He would spend hour upon hour in his woodshop at the scrollsaw.
Mr. Miller was a lifetime member of the Literary Aid Society.
Until his health started to fail, he enjoyed playing bingo, fishing and walking in the woods.
He especially enjoyed the friends he would meet at bingo games.
Also surviving are one son, Jimmy A. Miller, Peru; two daughters, Susan Bolin, Logansport, and Linda L. Browning and her husband, Steve, Peru; one brother, Glen Miller, Peru; seven grandchildren, Mark Miller, Eric Arnold, and Steve Arnold, all of Logansport, and Kenneth Miller, Trisha Robbins and her husband, Tom, Jamie Ross and her husband, Fred, and Jan Browning, all of Peru; five great-grandchildren, Jessica Short-Miller, Wyatt Miller, Aaron Arnold, Matthew Arnold and Matthew J. Ross; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Galen and Cloyd "Mode" Miller, preceded in death.
The Revs. Tom Robbins and Bob Cosby will officiate at the services.
Burial will be in Perrysburg Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in McClain Funeral Home.

Dorothy D. Fisher, 88
Dorothy D. Fisher, 88, Peru, passed away at 3:03 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 12, 1916 in Ypsilanti, Mich. to Stephen Marshall and Blanche Margaret Roosen Dunlap.
She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Ypsilanti in 1933.
Because of the Great Depression, she was not able to realize her dream of becoming a home economics teacher, but did receive a two-year degree from Cleary Business College in Michigan.
During the 1940s, she took a job in South America with Kaiser Motors as a secretary and interpreter.
There she met Linwood Stanton, and married him in 1947 in Ypsilanti. A son, Stephen, was born in Argentina, South America.
Her husband died in 1949.
She then married Don E. Fisher Nov. 3, 1956 in Rochester, and they had a daughter, Donna.
Fisher was a member of the Mexico First Brethren Church, where she served on various committees throughout her life.
She also had been a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Dukes Memorial Hospital and the Paws and Taws Square Dance Club of Peru.
In addition, she was a selfless giving person who enjoyed sewing and cooking, and loved to work in her flower beds.
She began her working career in this area with the David Fair Insurance Agency of Mexico in 1971.
She then moved into the real estate business with Candlish Real Estate and after selling for several years became their office manager.
She then became the secretary for attorney Garrett Palmer of Peru, from where she retired.
Survivors besides her husband include a son, Dr. Stephen E. Fisher and wife Linda, Muskegon, Mich.; a daughter, Donna E. Stiver and husband Timothy, Roann; five grandchildren, Jason and Eric Fisher, and Amy Thelen, all of Michigan, and Jacob and Michaela Stiver, both of Roann.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an older sister, Georgian Williams.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver.
For those who prefer, donations may be made to the Mexico First Brethren Church in lieu of flowers.
