Maxine M. Clark
Maxine M. Clark, 85, of Terre Haute and formerly of Danville, Ind., died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Lakeview Nursing Home.
She was a representative of Stanley Home Products for many years.
She was born March 17, 1916, in Casey, Ill., to William Curtis Cribelar and Tressie M. Odell Cribelar.
Survivors include her husband, Earl W. Clark Sr.; one sister, Luella Butts of Terre Haute; one granddaughter, Ali Clark of Terre Haute; one great-grandson, Rylan Davis of Terre Haute; and a special niece, Loretta Gilman of Peoria, Ill.
She was preceded in death by one son, Earl W. Clark Jr.; one grandson, Anthony Joseph Clark; two brothers; and two sisters.
She was a nationally recognized den mother for the Cub Scouts and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion and the St. Augustine Episcopal Church in Danville.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday in Roselawn Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. John Roof officiating.
Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 9 a.m. until services Friday, in the chapel.
Betty June Deverick
Betty June Deverick, 62, of Terre Haute died Monday, April 2, 2001, in Union Hospital.
She was a homemaker.
She was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Brazil to Reynold Schultz and Helen Schultz.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Deverick Jr.; two stepsons, Duane Edward Deverick of Graysville and Lee Martin Deverick of Fort Wayne; one stepdaughter, Tracy Sue Cooper of Terre Haute; two sisters, Shirley Pearce of Indianapolis and Imogene Schultz of Brazil; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Services are 2 p.m. today in Roselawn Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Nancy Sedletzeck officiating.
Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park.
N. Richard Everett
N. Richard Everett, 72, of Terre Haute died at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Union Hospital.
He was owner of Everett Advertising. He was born March 14, 1929, in Knox County to William Wesley Everett and Estelle D. Cook Everett.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Eller Everett, whom he married Sept. 3, 1950; one son, Paul Everett and his wife, Adele Jeffers Everett of Endicott, N.Y.; one daughter, Mary Everett and her husband, Robert Briscoe of Harris, Minn.; one brother, Herbert Everett and his wife, Evelyn of Greenwood; one sister, Marjorie Boyden of Hobart; two grandsons, Joel Everett and Isaac Everett; and several nieces and nephews.
He was an Army veteran of the
Korean War.
He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Social Lodge 86 Free & Accepted Masons and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, where he served as the commander in chief 1978 to 1979, and was honored with its 33rd degree in 1981.
He was president of Toastmasters of Terre Haute and served as vice president and president of the Exchange Club of Terre Haute, where he was recipient of its Book of Golden Deeds award in 1996.
Memorial services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial United Methodist Church, 2701 Poplar St., with the Rev. Bruce Buckley officiating. Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St., assisted with arrangements.
The family suggests, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Light House Mission, 1450 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47807, in recognition of his many years as a member of its board.
Ruby Barnett Power Quinn
Ruby Barnett Power Quinn, 87, of Terre Haute died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Harborside Healthcare.
She was retired from St. Anthony Hospital Cafeteria.
She was born May 14, 1913, in French Lick to William Barnett and Cora Hornback Barnett.
Her first husband, Phillip "Babs" Power, died in 1969; and her second husband, George Quinn, died in 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky King of Corning, Calif., and Susie Godsey and her husband, Scott of Springfield, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Patty Tucker of Marshall, Ill.; one stepson, Hugh Quinn of Cleveland; three sisters, Mary Lane of Paoli, Esther Harding of Florida and Rachel Bowser of Terre Haute; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Barnett and Clyde Barnett; and two infant sisters, Hazel and Nancy.
She was a member of United Methodist Temple and AARP.
Services are 3 p.m. Friday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Rev. James Truelove officiating.
Burial is in Prairie Creek West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Margaret L. Rowe
Margaret L. Rowe, 91, of Michigan City and formerly of Terre Haute, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, in the Life Care Center of Michigan City.
She was a professor of special education at Indiana State University. She was born Nov. 7, 1909, in Evansville to James W. Rowe and Emma M. Messmer Rowe.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Evansville in 1932, her master's degree from Northwestern University in 1939 and her doctorate in education from Indiana University in 1955.
She was honored by Indiana State University by having the Rowe Center for Communication Disorders (the speech and hearing department) named for her.
She was a member of Indiana State Teachers Association, National Education Association and Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and was past president of the Speech, Language and Hearing Association for the state of Indiana.
She was a member and past state president of Delta Kappa Gamma, Sigma Alpha Iota, Chi Omega, Community Theatre, Mental Health Association and St. Patrick Catholic Church. Prayers are 11 a.m. Monday in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Monsignor Larry Moran officiating.
Burial is in St. Joseph Cemetery
in Evansville.
Visitation is 9 a.m. until prayers Monday, in the funeral home.

Jo Ann Mansard Smith
Jo Ann Mansard Smith, 68, of Terre Haute died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Union Hospital.
She was secretary to the plant manager at Pfizer Inc. She was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Terre Haute to Ernest Mansard Sr. and Dessie Meredith Hamrick Mansard.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford D. Smith, whom she married Sept. 23, 1950; two daughters, Deborah Sexton and her husband, Steve of Jasonville and Cathy Wortman and her husband Harold of Terre Haute; six grandchildren, Dr. Krista Cox and her husband, Dr. Bryan, Brent Sexton and his wife, Wendy, Landon Sexton, Michael Greene, Clifford Greene and Hannah Wortman; and two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Cox and Alexis Jo Ann Sexton.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ernest Mansard Jr.; and one sister, Madonna Bedino.
She was a member of Eagles Lodge.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with Pastor Jerry Clark officiating.
Entombment is in Roselawn Mausoleum.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Katherine T. Tennis
Katherine T. Tennis, 89, of Terre Haute died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Union Hospital.
She was a clerk in Roots Department Store for 25 years.
She was born Oct. 13, 1911, in Clay County to Charles Klein and Emma Garlett Klein.
Her husband, Ray W. Tennis, died earlier.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Hogan and her husband, Jerry of Terre Haute; six grandchildren, Cheryl Miller, Michael Hogan, Steve Tennis and his wife Kitty, Curtis Hogan, Cindy Junker and her husband Howard, and Brenda Branson and her husband Rick; 12 great-grandchildren, Michael Glover, Jason Hogan, Tiffany Hogan, Matt Robinson, Josh Hogan, Thera Robinson, Adam Perkins, Laurielle Leslie, Robby Lofton, Ricky Branson, Tricia Junker and Jennifer Junker; one brother, Roy Klein of Granger; one niece, Gale Johnson of Edwardsburg, Mich., and several other nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Tennis; and one grandchild, Laury Ann Leslie.
She was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.
Services are 11 a.m. today in Roselawn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Smith officiating.
Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Robert Lee Young
Robert Lee Young, 76, of Indianapolis and formerly of Terre Haute died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, Waneta H. Kennedy Young; one daughter, Linda Tincher; one son, Gary Young; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday in Conkle Funeral Home Speedway Chapel.
Burial is in Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Joanne M. Carraway,
ROBINSON, Ill. - - Joanne M. Carraway, 71, of Robinson died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Crawford Memorial Hospital, of a heart condition.
She was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Robinson to Herbert M. McCarty and Geraldine Burns McCarty. Survivors include her husband, Charles Carraway; one nephew; and two nieces.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in Robinson First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Barnett officiating.
Burial is in Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and before 10 a.m. Tuesday, in Goodwine Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. until services Tuesday, in the church.
