M. Robert Britton
M. Robert Britton, 69, of Terre Haute died Friday night, Sept. 29, 2000, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born Dec. 6, 1930, in Terre Haute to Charles F. Britton and Ella Mae Osborn Britton. Survivors include one son, Mike Britton; two brothers, Bill Wayne Britton and Jack Britton; five sisters, Dorothy Lewis Steadman, Johanna Endress DeLong, Wilma Blair Riddell, Ruby Lewzader and Charlotte Alder; two grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; and one nephew. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Wednesday in The Callahan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Britton officiating. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mary Ann Budd
Mary Ann Budd, 68, of Terre Haute died at 2:44 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, in Union Hospital. She retired as an associated cashier from the former Indiana State Bank after 25 years of service. She was born Sept. 11, 1932, in Terre Haute to Michael Hines and Mary "Mame" Johnson Hines. Survivors include her husband, Daniel J. Budd, whom she married Oct. 10, 1953; one daughter, Patricia Budd of Terre Haute; two sons, Daniel M. Budd and his wife Penny of Lawrenceburg, Ga., and James R. Budd of Terre Haute; one brother, Anthony Hines and his wife Kay of Kenosha, Wis.; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Tyler, McKenzie and Daren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Rosemary Missouri, Louise Milner, and Rita Cavolt; and three brothers, George Hines, John Hines and Mickey Hines. She was a life member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, its Parish Council and Parish Life committees; member and past president of American LaFrance Firemen's Auxiliary; member and current president of Art Compton Tuesday Women's Bowling League; member and current secretary of Eagles Saturday Night Bowling League; member of Vigo Bowl Friday Senior League; Altrusa; Greater Terre Haute Women's Bowling Association board of directors; and recently was elected to the Terre Haute Bowlers Hall of Fame. Family prayers are 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kent Biergens officiating. Entombment is in Calvary Mausoleum. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, with selected readings at 7 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Wabash Valley, American Cancer Association or American Heart Association.
Harry 'Whitey' Adkerson
Harry "Whitey" Adkerson, 75, of Terre Haute died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Union Hospital. He was a retired railroader for Conrail. He was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Petersburg to Thomas F. Adkerson and Josie Kime Adkerson. Survivors include his wife, Doris Tiley Adkerson; one son, John F. Adkerson and his wife, Debbie of Fremont, Neb.; one daughter, Connie Sue Cook and her husband, Dean of Brazil; two brothers, Kae Allen Adkerson and Ozz Adkerson; one sister, LaVon Tiley; one grandson; and one stepgranddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 104, the Marine Corps League and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972. There are no services or visitation. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Roselawn Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
Lottie McCauley
Lottie McCauley, 83, of Terre Haute died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Union Hospital. She was a retired sales clerk. She was born Nov. 29, 1917, in Terre Haute to Richard Tindall and Lena Florence Earl Tindall. Her husband, John L. McCauley, died July 2, 1985. Survivors include one son, Richard McCauley and his wife, Janice of New Albany; one sister, Fern Bennett of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, John, Christopher and Susan; and two nephews, John Bennett and Robert Bennett. She was a member of Union Christian Church and a former member of Dean Avenue Christian Church. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday in The Callahan Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Grayless officiating. Burial is in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until services Saturday.
Nellie L. Neice
Nellie L. Neice, 66, of Terre Haute died at 6:22 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Union Hospital. She was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Clinton to Ransom Catterson and Dessa Wylie Catterson. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Neice; one daughter, Lori Burchfield; one son, Joe "Beal" Lyday; three brothers, Bill Catterson, George Catterson and Clyde Catterson; two sisters, Doris Beal and Nancy Bridgewaters; seven grandchildren, Skip Lyday, Sherry Gibbons, Terry Gibbons, Amanda Burchfield, Richard Burchfield, Blue Dove Beal and Sparrow Hawk Beal; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972 Auxiliary. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Bill Herb officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Forrest Dell Andrews
MARSHALL, Ill. - - Forrest Dell Andrews, 94, of Marshall, died at 8:43 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in Burnsides Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 21, 1906, in Vermilion County to John Andrews and Grace D. Lowdermilk Andrews. Her first husband, M. Jeff Poster, died in 1953. Survivors include one half sister, Estella; one cousin; two nieces; and two nephews. Private graveside services are in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, south of Brazil, Ind. There is no visitation. Pearce Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
Mary Cynthia Crawley
MARSHALL, Ill. - - Mary Cynthia Crawley, 89, of Marshall died at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Burnsides Nursing Home. She was born in Dennison to Clen Wilson and Minnie Tucker Wilson. Her husband, Orville Crawley, whom she married May 26, 1934, died Oct. 13, 1978. Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Fern Wilson and her husband, Jack E. of Terre Haute, Ind.; six grandchildren and their spouses, Charlene and Raymond McKeen and Larry and Beth Wilson, all of Terre Haute, Darlene and Bradley Schultz of Lubbock, Texas, Janice and Gregory Emmerson of Charlotte, N.C., Gerald and Rae Ann Wilson of Mooresville and Donna and David Daniels of Lancaster, Calif.; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one cousin. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, George Wilson, Cebert Wilson, Loren "Bill" Wilson, Glenn Wilson and Lloyd Wilson; one sister, Mabel Morgan; and one great-granddaughter, Rebecca Wilson. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Services are 11 a.m. CST Saturday in Pearce Funeral Home with Brother Ken Grubb officiating. Burial is in Forsythe Cemetery. COXVILLE - - Raymond H. "Tiny" Daniels, 87, of Mishawaka and formerly of Coxville died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend. He was born Oct. 27, 1913, in Coxville. Survivors include his wife, Martha Ardella Griffith Daniels; two sons, Leo Daniels and Garry Daniels; five sisters; four brothers; and one grandson. Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday in Olive Cemetery
in Elkhart, with the Rev. Daniel Boes officiating, and graveside military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1167. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today in Hahn Funeral Home in Mishawaka.
Mary Massa Fortuna
KNIGHTSVILLE - - Mary Massa Fortuna, 82, of Knightsville and formerly of Clinton died at 7:07 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was a homemaker. She was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Clinton to Charles Massa and Anna Shopias Massa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton. Survivors include one brother, Pete Massa and his wife, Irene of Clinton; three nephews, Larry Massa of Linton, Jerry Massa of Tupelo, Miss., and Joe Massa of Rockville; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Dammann and Ann Massa, both of Clinton. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday in Frist Funeral Home in Clinton, with Charles Lucas officiating. Burial is in Walnut Grove Cemetery

Mildred S. Lewis
MARSHALL, Ill. - - Mildred S. Lewis, 91, of Marshall died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Burnsides Nursing Home. She was a retired office assistant in the Clark County Clerk and Treasurer's office. She was born in Wabash Township, Clark County to Clark H. Irwin and Sophronia Norton Irwin. Her husband, Lawrence. B. "L.B." Lewis, whom she married Dec. 13, 1931, in Brazil, Ind., died Jan. 13, 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Jensen and her husband, Ken and Carole Arney and her husband, Steve, all of Marshall; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Earl B. Irwin and Raymond Irwin; and two sisters, Ruey I. Irwin and Plessie M. Bland. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marshall and the Knights of Pythian Sisters of Marshall. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. Services are 11 a.m. CST Saturday in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial is in Marshall Cemetery. Visitation is 1 to 2:30 p.m. today in the Shaw Chapel at Burnsides Nursing Home, and 4 to 7:30 p.m. today and 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday in Pearce Funeral Home, and one hour before services Saturday, in the church.
