FRANKLIN - The Rev. Russell H. Youngblood, 87, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000 at Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin. Born Oct. 26, 1913 in Tennyson, he was the son of Clovis and Lulu (Taylor) Youngblood.

GREENWOOD - Velma M. (Combs) Newman, 83, of Greenwood formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2000 at Greenwood Convalescent Center. Born August 31, 1917 in Linton, she was the daughter of Charles Edward and Iona Florence (Eaton) Combs. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Community Church of Southport. Survivors include, two sons, Waldo Lee Newman of Indianapolis; William J. Newman of Greenwood; one daughter, Lanna Farley of Greenwood; two sisters, June Goodson and Bonnie White both of Linton; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Newman. Funeral services will be held at the G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home in Greenwood at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 25, 2000. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m., Saturday at the Fairview Cemetery
in Linton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 - 8 p.m., today, November 24, 2000.
