Lucas Edward Furr

Lucas Edward Furr, 4, of Remington died Friday (correction: Saturday) evening, May 24, 2003, at Jasper County Hospital as a result of injuries he received in an auto related accident at home earlier in the day.
He was born February 15, 1999 in Monticello.
He had just graduated from Preschool.
He is survived by his mother Kendora (Lucas) Furr, sisters Denea (15) Selena (13) and Rheanna (9) all at home and his father, Don Furr of Monticello.
Also surviving are his grandmothers, Rosie Lucas Crawford of Remington and Roberta Borden of West Lafayette. He also had several aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Hartzler Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29, 2003 from 4 — 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, May 30, 2003 at 11 a[.]m[.] at Hartzler Funeral Home with Randy Sparks presiding.
Burial will be in Cha1mers Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Red Cross.
Helen M. Ginn
November 15, 1913 - January 22, 2003
Helen M. Ginn, 89, of Delphi died Wednesday, January 22, 2003, at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
She was born in Carroll County on November 15, 1913, to John Raymond and Ruby (Hufty) Rush. She married Howard M. Ginn in Delphi on October 7, 1939. He died December 28, 1993.
She was a graduate of Brookston High School.
She farmed with her husband for many years in Tippecanoe Township in Carroll County until retiring in 1979.
She was a former member of the TIPWA Grange in Pittsburg.
She enjoyed gardening, painting, embroidery and bird watching.
Survivors include daughter, Mary Jane (Larry) Hunter of Logansport and Marjorie Lou Ginn of Delphi; a son, Thomas H. (Patricia) Ginn of Delphi; a half sister Nancy Miller of Elgin, Ill.; brothers, Paul Rush or Lafayette and Donald (Deloris) Rush of Brookston; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, January 24, 2003 at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi with Pastor Tim Stewart officiating.
Burial was at I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens, Delphi.

Ralph Hobert Griffith
October 12, 1898 - May 16, 1993
Ralph Hobert Griffith. 94, Chalmers, died Sunday, May 16. at Home Hospital in Lafayette. He had been a patient there since May 1.
He was born October 12, 1898 in Martinsville, IL, to Frank and Lydia Weir Griffith.
He had lived in Chalmers since he was 23.
He was a blacksmith in Chalmers from 1922 until the late 1980's.
In 1991 he was honored by the Chalmers Civics Club and he was active in Chalmers' centennial celebration in 1973.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wilda Katherine Lieberman of Tacoma, WA; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Chester, is deceased.
The funeral was held Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with the Rev. Loren Shuman officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery
in Valparaiso, and a family graveside service will be conducted today.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Chalmers Community Church.
Dale F. Hamilton
November 10, 1914 - September 7, 1999
The Rev. Dale Frank Hamilton, 84, of Lafayette, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, in his residence.
He was born Nov. 10, 1914, in Fowler and was a graduate of Fowler High School. He had resided in Lafayette the past 21 years.
The Rev. Hamilton retired after 30 years as a United Methodist Minister in the Northwest Conference. He served churches in Monon, Lee, McCoysburg, Barkley, Rockville and Sweetser. He was a member of the Rockville Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He was married Jan. 11, 1940. to Carol Mae Thomas in Fowler and she survives
Surviving with his wife are three daughters. Nancy Sproal of Tulsa, Okla.; Jeanne Rono, Indianapolis; Kay Ziegler, Noblesville; four sons, Jerry Hamilton, Muncie; Don Hamilton, Monticello; Mark Hamilton, San Ramon, Calif.; and Philip Hamilton, Indianapolis; and a sister, Mrs. Ione Sherril, Gatlinburg, Tenn. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were at Hippensteel Funeral Home, Friday. with the Rev. William C. Kehlhofer officiating Cremation followed the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Children's Home in Lebanon.
Gordon E. Hare
September 19, 1931 - October 25, 1999
Gordon E. Hare, 68, of Monticello died Monday, October 25, 1999 in White County Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 19, 1931 in Logansport, IN the son of Elbert and Hazel Morgan Hare.
He had been a resident of Monticello Healthcare Center since September 1997. Before moving into the center, he lived in Wolcott. He had been in failing health for the past several years.
During his younger day, Gordon attended Pike Creek Church of the Brethren and Pious Chapel. He taught Sunday School at Pious Chapel for a period of time. He was a member of Teamsters Local #710.
His first marriage was May 7, 1949 in Spencer, IN to Alice Jay. They were divorced. He then married Vivian Satchwell in December 1974. She died in the summer of 1978.
He then married Cathy Dennison on February 5, 1980. They were later divorced.
Survivors include three sons; Victor Hare, Fulton, MD; Anthony "Tony" & Linda Hare, Peru, IN; Karl A. & Jeanne Hare of Monon, IN; two daughters, Kathleen "Kathy" & Gene Kay Price, Fort Wayne, IN and Victoria Hare, Lake Village, IN.
Also surviving are an adopted son Jerry & Misty Hare, twin sisters, Virginia Quade and Barbara Murray of Logansport, his former wife, Alice Hare of Monticello and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 28th with Pastor Jason Metzinger officiating. Burial will be in the Osborne Cemetery
in Jasper County.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday and after 8 A.M. Thursday at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home East of Monticello.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes. Association or to the Pike Creek Church of the Brethren.
Mary Josephine Harrer
February 25, 1920 - June 3, 2003
Mary Josephine (Tennell) Harrer, 83, of West Lafayette, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Manor Care Hospice in Hinsdale, Ill. She was born February 25, 1920, in Winamac, the daughter of William E. and Hazel Parker Tennell. Her marriage was to Kenneth Harrer on December 15, 1945 in Bloomington, In. He died February 16, 1989.
She had lived in Tippecanoe County since 1949 coming from Bloomington.
She graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1938 and Indiana University in 1942.
She helped her husband in their business the Audio-Video Shoppe on Stadium Ave., West Lafayette for about 20 years, retiring in 1989.
She was an avid reader and loved to walk.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Survivors include a daughter Diana (Paul) Coulis of Hinsdale, IL; two sons, Robert (Janis) Harrer of San Francisco, CA and James (Kathy) Harrer of Shelbyville and a brother William Tennell of Bloomington, IN. She had three grandchildren, Dana Coulis, Christian Coulis, and John Christian Harrer; three step-grandchildren, Christina Ward, Christopher Valentine and Kyle Valentine, and two step-great grandchildren, Jamie Ward and Klara Valentine.
Funeral services were Friday at First United Methodist Church in West Lafayette with Rev. Dr. James Morin and Rev. Katherine Walker officiating. Soller-Baker Funeral Home was in charge of services.
Entombment was at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in West Lafayette or Pancreatic Cancer Research.
Walter John Hart, Jr.
August 13, 1936 - June 23, 2002
Walter John Hart, Jr. 65, of Brookston died Sunday, June 23, 2002 at Marymount Medical Center in London, KY.
He was born August 13, 1936 in West Lafayette, to Walter John Sr. and Thelma Erb Hart. He married Priscella J. Kelley on October 29, 1979, in Lexington, KY. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Navy in Air Transport Squadron 22, Norfolk, Va. from 1955-57.
He was an owner and operator for Pasquale Trucking Co. in Logansport.
He was a member of Octagon Masonic Lodge 511 F&AM; West Lafayette American Legion Post 492; Moose Lodge 1529 of Lafayette, and Eagles Lodge of Kansas.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Randall John (Alecia) Hart of Delphi; a daughter Christine Renee Hart of West Lafayette; sisters Ann (Ed) Metzger, Josephine (Orville) Trapp and Harriet (Keith) Lambert, all of Lafayette, and Wilma (Don) Olsen of Decorah, Iowa and one grandson. Two brothers, J.C. and Alexander Hart are deceased.
A gathering of family and friends will be held tonight (Wednesday) from 5-7 PM at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston. A Masonic service, conducted by Octagon Masonic Lodge 511, will be held at 7 PM at the funeral home.
Carl M. Hendrickson
April 28, 1918 - June 23, 1987
Carl M. Hendrickson, 71, formerly of Brookston and West Lafayette, died Tuesday morning in Muncie Healthcare Center, Muncie.
He was born April 28, 1918, in Brookston, to Henry and Bertha Bartlett Hendrickson.
He was formerly employed at Brown Rubber Co. in Lafayette and was a farmer. He attended Brookston schools and was a member of Battle Ground Masonic Lodge, Merou Grotto and Knights of Pithias in Lafayette, the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis and the auxiliary police in Lafayette.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Diana) VanHorn, Lafayette and Mrs. Larry (Judith) Schuerman, Selma; two sons, Brian, Crawfordsville and Richard of Lakeland, Fla.; seven grand children; one great-granddaughter; one brother Bill Hendrickson, Decatur Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. George Florence Gagnon, Brookston and Mrs. Anna Mae Aldridge, Elwood. One brother is deceased.
A graveside service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery
in Brookston, the Rev. B. James Walter officiating.
