Mary Anne Boze
March 10, 1935 - February 5, 2003 Mary Anne Boze, 67, of Monon, died Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. She had been ill for six months.
She was born in Francesville on March 10, 1935, to John and Sattie Waymire Scott. She married Kenneth L. Boze in Monon on September 7, 1957. He survives.
She attended Francesville High School.
She was a homemaker and lived in Monon since 1957.
She was a member of Francesville Christian Church.
Surviving with her husband are daughters Barbara Pine of Milwaukee, Wisc. and Kathy Stimely of Lewis Town, Pa.; a brother Bill Scott of Largo, Fla., five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A daughter Gwen Burget of Remington died in an auto accident while returning home after attending her mother's wake on Friday night.
Funeral services were Saturday at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Rev. Larry Piatt officiating.
Burial was in Riverview 1.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monticello.

Mike Burbage
[1947?] - May 31, 2003
RUSSELLVILLE, KY. — Mike Burbage, 55, of Russellville died May 31, 2003 at his home.
The White County, Indiana native was an automations engineer at Logan Aluminum and an Army veteran. He was the son of the late Charles W. Burbage and Laura Grace McCombs Burbage.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Burbage; two sons, Eric Burbage or Paris, Texas, and Brian Burbage of Russellville; two step-sons, Corey Reeves and Phillip Reeves, both of Russellville; a brother, Larry Burbage of Lafayette, IN; a sister, Marcia Burbage of Valparaiso, IN; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church, where he was a member and elder, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church Memorial Fund in Russellville, KY.
Kathryn Price Burnau
November 22, 1914 - March 8, 2003
Kathryn Price Burnau, 88, of Dayton, Ohio and formerly of Monon died Saturday, March 8, 2003 at Heartland of Oak Ridge in Miamisburg, Ohio.
She was born on November 22, 1914 in Monticello, the daughter of J. Stewart and Maude L. Luse Price. She married R. George Burnau on February 25, 1934. He died June 7, 1998.
She was a resident of Dayton, Ohio since 1998 coming from Monon where she had lived most of her life.
She was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
She graduated from Monon High School in 1932.
She formerly worked at Newbold Olds in Monon and was a former telephone operator. She was a former employee of Tippecanoe Country Club, Monticello.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen (George) Heller of Beavercreek, Ohio; granddaughters, Holly Swing of Atlanta, Georgia and Jennifer (Scott) Renninger of Columbus, Ohio; grandsons, Michael S. Swing, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Christopher B. Swing of Dayton, Ohio and three great grandchildren; Jordan Swing and Sydney Swing of St. Louis, Missouri and Hope Swing of Atlanta, Georgia.
A sister, Dorothy L. Sissons, a twin sister, Kathleen Price and a brother Joseph S. Price, Jr, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2003 at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home in Francesville with funeral services following at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Don Newman officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Monon United Methodist Church or Monon Public Library.
Clennon Cain
July 25, 1914 - April 6, 1993
Clennon Cain, 78, Brookston, died Tuesday, April 6, at 4:55 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette, where he had been a patient 1 day.
He was born July 25, 1914 in Tompkinsville, KY. He married Nina Sims on January 28, 1935 in Tompkinsville, KY, and she survives. He had been a resident of Brookston for the past 6½ years, moving here from Wolcott. He was a retired farmer when he moved to Brookston. He was a member of the Brookston Church of Christ and a Deacon of the church.
Surviving with his wife is a son Denton Cain of Ft. Meyers, FL; 2 brothers, Cecil Cain and Ray Cain both of Tompkinsville, KY; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Scott of Scottsville, KY; and 4 grandchildren. One son, Dale Cain, 1 sister and 4 brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home with Bill Romans officiating. Burial will be in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.

Phyllis E. Crawford
May 14, 1927 - March 16, 1999
Phyllis E. Crawford, 71, of Monon, died Tuesday, March16th at Rensselaer Care Center.
She was born in Francesville on May 14, 1927 to George H. and Myrtle Quadlin Blunk. She married Gordon C. Crawford. He died May 23, 1988.
She had resided in the Monon community most of her life.
She was a homemaker and a professional quilter. She was also employed at Indiana Ribbon in Wolcott for several years.
She was a member of Monon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Virginia "Jinny" Wiley of Monon; a son, Carl Crawford, Jr of Port Lavaca, Texas; two brothers, Charles Blunk and George H. Blunk, both of Monon; six grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. William Kehlhofer officiating.
Burial was in Osborne Cemetery, Rensselaer.

Genevieve J. Crosby
March 13, 1926 - May 26, 2003
Genevieve J. Crosby, 77, of Headlee, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at her residence. She had been in failing health for several months.
She was born in White County on March 13, 1926, to Minor and Mary Funk Nice. She married Everett Crosby in White County on June 18, 1944. He survives.
She was a 1944 graduate of Royal Center High School.
She had lived on the same farm in the Headlee community since 1944.
She was a member of the White Oak United Methodist Church and the White Oak Circle of the church.
She loved camping and fishing.
Other survivors include daughters, Linda (Fred) Mosher of Monon and Sharon DuVall (fiance Larry Sims) and Judy (Fred) Hastings, both of Monticello; a son, Steve (Ruthanne "Annie") Crosby of Headlee; a brother, Ralph (Dorothy) Nice of Headlee; 10 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one step great-granddaughter.
An infant daughter Mary Ann Crosby and a great grandson are deceased.
Funeral Services were Friday, May 30, 2003 at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Rhoades Welling officiating.
Burial was in Pro/Indian Creek Cemetery
in Pulaski County.

Ellen Lorene Ezra
August 27, 1907 - May 29, 2003
Ellen Lorene Ezra, 95, of Fort Wayne, a former Monon resident, died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Fort Wayne.
She was born at Monon on August 27, 1907, to Simeon and Aleatha Whiteman Marion. She married Loren E. Ezra on April 25, 1937. He died in 1968.
She was a graduate of Monon High School.
She had lived in Monon for 29 years, Francesville for 32 years, Indianapolis for 12 years and Fort Wayne for two and a half years.
She was a member of the Buffalo Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include a son, Gary L. (Jeanette) Ezra of Liberty, Mo.; daughters Norma D. (Sam) Gunnerson of Scottsdale, Ariz, Alma M. Simpson of Fort Wayne and Violet Davis of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister Violet Hirt of Monticello; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, June 2, 2003 at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home in Monticello with Rev. John Mishler officiating.
Burial was at McKinley Memorial Gardens, Winamac.
Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Church of the Brethren or the wishes of the donor.
Edna B. Farley
August 12, 1906 - July 31, 2002
Edna B. Farley, 95, of Monticello died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.
She was born in Tompkinsville, KY on August 12, 1906, to Mordecai and Mary Jane Jackson Emberton. She married Troy B. Farley on December 25, 1927. He died on September 30, 1979.
She was a member of Sitka Baptist Church for many years. She was a Ladies Missionary Aide member, and also taught Sunday school at the church.
She enjoyed flowers, quilting and reading.
Survivors include a son, Bob E. (Mary Catherine) Farley of Brookston; a granddaughter, Susan C. (Stephen) Morris of Westerville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Three sisters and three brothers are deceased.
Funeral Services were August 3rd at Fisher-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Dr. James Elliott officiating. Burial was at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Charles Beverly Ferguson
February 3, 1922 - January 10, 1997
Charles Beverly Ferguson, 74 Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Brookston, died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 10, at Memorial Hospital--Flagler in Bunnell, Florida.
He was born Feb. 3, 1922 to Charles and Vida Scott Ferguson in San Antonio, Texas. He was married Sept. 21, 1952, to Ann Buleza in Belgrade, Yugoslavia She survives along with several local cousins.
He attended school in Brookston and graduated from Salamonio Township High School, Warren, in 1940.
He graduated from Ball State Teachers College and University of Michigan, with a masters degree in geography.
He studied Arabic at the Foreign Service School in Beirut, Lebanon.
He retired as an educator in 1991. He spent several years as chairman of the Geography Department at Southern Connecticut State College, New Haven, Connecticut.
He served 30 years of foreign service with the State Department in the Far East at Tokyo, Japan and the Middle East in Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Greece.
He was an executive with Frank E. Basil Inc. and Engineering and Consulting firm in Washington, D.C.
The funeral was this morning at Hartzler Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating.
Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
