Rev. Albert S. Schmitt
Former Dale resident Rev. Albert S. Schmitt died Tuesday, April 29 at the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont, Minn. He was 103.
Albert Samuel Schmitt, son of Samuel and Wilhelmina Schmitt, was born March 20, 1900, at the family farm near Dale. He was the youngest of eight children of the Schmitts.
Albert felt the call to Christian ministry while attending an E. Stanley Jones summer "Ashram" at the Santa Claus Methodist Church. He was the 21st young person to go from this small church into Christian service. Rev. Schmitt served several churches in Indiana, including Ebenezer in Boonville.
Rev. Schmitt volunteered as chaplain in the USNR in 1943. He was honorably discharged from active duty in January of 1946 with the rank of Lt. Commander.
He retired from the ministry in 1966, although he continued serving part-time for several years.
Ada Lang
Evansville resident Ada Lang died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at her residence. She was 52.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jim Lang of Evansville; two daughters, Robin Strahl of Tell City, and Adrian Lang of Evansville; a step-daugther, Stacy McKay of Tampa, Fla.; a son, Michael Lang of Evansville; two stepsons, Lance Lang of Newburgh and Dirk Lang of Evansville; her mother, M. Juanita Price of Evansville; two brothers, Wayne Huckeby of Kansas City, Kan., and Dale Huckeby of Eugene, Oregon; and grandchildren, Courtney and Kelsey Lang, Anthony Lang, Tanner Lang, Tyler Fuentes, Madison McKay and Emme Lang.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 28 at Browning Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
William Wedding
Newburgh resident William R. Wedding died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was 72.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14 at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel with burial in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Father Joseph Ziliak officiated.
Lois Youngblood
Boonville resident Lois J. (Graves) Youngblood died Aug. 14, 2002 at the Good Samaritan Home in Evansville. She was 76.
She was born Dec. 16, 1925 in Boonville to Nellie A. (Wright) and Benton E. Graves, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Main Street General Baptist Church in Boonville and worked for the Southern Railroad and Indiana Bell Telephone Company before retirement. She was a graduate of Boonville High School Class of 1943.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Guy L. Youngblood; two sisters, Mary Ruth Graves of Evansville and Jeanne Graves Conner of Boonville; a brother, Floyd L. Graves and his wife, Virble, of Valparaiso; a niece who cared for her, Pamela and her husband, Chapman Rust, of Evansville; a niece, Janice Pendley of St. Louis, Mo.; a nephew and his wife, Galen and Sherry Graves of New Harmony; two sister-in-laws, Ruth Rudisill of Rockport and Karen Sue Hess of Evansville; a brother-in-law and his wife, Robert and Merle Youngblood of Evansville.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 17 at Koehler Funeral Home, Boonville Chapel with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Boonville. Rev David Youngblood officiated.

Francis Schoenbaechler
Newburgh resident Francis J. Schoenbaechler died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at St. Mary's Riverside. He was 67.
Francis graduated from St. Anthony Grade School and from Central High School in 1954. He worked for 39 years at Creative Press from 1954 to 1993. He worked at the Warrick County School Corporation from 1996 to the present.
He was an Eagle Scout, Scout Master, and Explorer Leader for Post 165 in Chandler during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Francis enjoyed hunting, camping, woodworking and gardening. He and his wife, Bonnie, were active in craft shows in the 1980s. He also enjoyed attending all of the ball games and programs, and participating in the projects his grandchildren were involved with.
Francis and his wife, Bonnie, were to be married 49 years in February 2003.
Francis is survived by his wife, Bonnie Schoenbaechler of Newburgh; three sons, Jay and wife Debbie Schoenbaechler of Evansville, Frank Schoenbaechler of Boonville, and Glenn and wife Dana Schoenbaechler of Newburgh; two sisters, Emma Jean Wolf and Donna Williams, both of Evansville; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Schoenbaechler of Evansville; four brothers, Fred Schoenbaechler of Evansville, Carl Schoenbaechler of Newburgh, Del Schoenbaechler of Guardena, Calif., and George Schoenbaechler of Loganville, Nev.; grandchildren, Logan, Emily, Katelin, Jayson and Dale, and a granddaughter due in April; and 20 nieces and 14 nephews.
Services were held Dec. 27 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, with Reverend James Johnson officiating. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
Jimmy Dale Young
Homestead, Iowa resident Jimmy Dale Young passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was 48.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years Mary (Wilder) Young of Homestead, Iowa (formerly of Tennyson); mother, Emogene Young of Homestead; two daughters, Patricia Ann Witte of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jennifer Marie of Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Rebecca Reif of Berwyn, Ill.; a brother, David Young of Solon, Iowa; mother- and father-in-law, Arlene and Cletus Wilder of Tennyson; brothers-in-law, William Wilder of Tennyson, Donald Wilder of Petersburg, Kenneth Wilder of Spottsville, Ky. and Jeremy Wilder of Linden, Va.
Services were held Sunday, April 6 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Christina Braun
Dale resident Christina Dawn Braun died Friday, June 6, 2003 at Owensboro Mercy Hospital in Owensboro, Ky. She was 31.
Christina was born March 16, 1972 in Owensboro, Ky., to Gary W. Brown and Sheila Hill. She was a member of Bakers Chapel United Methodist Church in Degonia Springs. She married John M. Braun on March 31, 1997 at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg. Christina was employed by Strategic Partnership of Owensboro, Ky.
She is survived by her husband, John M. Braun of Dale; two sons, Alex Edward Braun (age 4) and Zachary Ryan Braun (age 1), both at home; her parents, Gary and Sheila Brown of Tennyson; two sisters, Angela Chamlee of Boonville and Melissa Scales of Lynnville; one brother, Timothy Wayne Brown of Tennyson; her grandparents and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 11 at 1 p.m. at the Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory in Dale. Burial followed in the Dale Cemetery.
Donald Houston
Boonville resident Donald Houston died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville of cancer. He was 68.
He was a life member of Boonville VFW Post #3418, a member of the Boonville American Legion Post #200 and had served in the USMC and U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He was a
Korean War Veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Arvilla (Billie) Houston of Evansville; two daughters, Donna Irene Mickels of Diamond Head, Miss. and Lisa York of New Orleans, La.; two sons, Kevin of Evansville and Mickey of Princeton; a daughter-in-law, (who cared for him), Patrician Houston of Evansville; two sisters, Maxita Stephens of Lakeland, Fla. and Mary Kay Crow of Boonville; four brothers, Jimmie Joe and Danny Paul of Bradenton, Fla. and Darryl of Marietta, Ga. and Bob of North Carolina; eight grandchildren including, Jessica Houston, Eddie Byrley, Jonathan Houston, Rennie York, Kayla York and Byron York.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 14 at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel Rev. Bob Willis officiated, with burial in Garrison Chapel Cemetery
with military rites by Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services.
Mary Adams
Hatfield resident Mary J. (Schwoeppe) Adams died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport. She was 91.
She is survived by a daughter, Catherine "Kay" DeWeese of Hatfield; a son and daughter-in-law, James "Jim" and Diana Adams of Richland; a daughter-in-law, Maxine Adams of Boonville; nine grandchildren, Scott DeWesse of Richland; Kevin of Richland; Marty DeWeese of Hatfield; Krista Rasor; Jamie Denham of Hamilton, Ohio; Cheri Schulte of Rockport; Richard "Rick" Adams of Tennyson; Cynthia "Cindy" Adams of Boonville and Rebecca Wilson of Bloomington; sixteen great- grandchildren, one of whom, Jason DeWeese, made his home with her for several years; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 28 at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with burial in James Parker Cemetery
in Hatfield.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gospel Mission Church in Rockport.
Col. Larry E. Harry
Former Boonville resident, Col. Larry E. Harry died February 4, 2002 aboard the M.S. Amsterdam by the island of Vanuatu in the South Pacific. He was 63.
He was on his third, around-the-world cruise.
A graduate of the University of Colorado and the University of Southern California, Larry retired from the United States Air Force as a Colonel after 29 proud years of service. His time in the Air Force included stations in Korea, Japan, and all across the U.S. After the Air Force, he continued working a few more years for defense contractor, McDonnell Douglas. He resided in Fountain Valley, CA for the past 16 years. Survivors include three children Angela Vrebalovich (Costa Mesa, CA), Edward Harry (Fountain Valley, CA), Elizabeth Schneider (Seal Beach, CA); two (soon to be three) grandsons; sister Phyllis Myers (Kokomo, IN) and brother Jerry Harry (Fayetteville, TN).
A wonderful father, brother, and grandfather with a witty sense of humor, "The Colonel" loved music, electronics, dancing, and seeing the world. He will be greatly missed by so many.
A memorial service was held February 23 at Corona del Mar beach in California. On March 14, a military service with honors was held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma, Calif., where Larry's remains were interred overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Arrangements made by Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, CA.
Marie Campbell
Boonville resident Hilda Marie (Oestreicher) Campbell died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. She was 86.
Marie was a member of the Hemenway Memorial Presbyterian Church in Boonville. She was a past deacon of her church and was a member of the Hand Bell Choir. She was active in all church functions.
She was also a member of the Thrifty Home Economics Club and Sinawic of Boonville. She was the daughter of William and Julia Oestreicher of Lynnville.
Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte Campbell of Newburgh, with whom she lived and a daughter and son-in-law, Jim and Mary Jo Campbell of Newburgh; three grandchildren, Edward Parsonage III, Charlotte MacBeth and Scott Campbell; three great-grandchldren, Rachel, Jacquelyn and Margaret MacBeth.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14 at Bradley's Colonial Chapel in Boonville with burial in Lynnville Cemetery
in Lynnville. Rev. Rob Allen officiated.
