Donna Jean Rice, 59, Monticello died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Monticello Assisted Living and Health Care. She had been ill for one year.
She was born in Francesville on November 26, 1940 to Alfred Earl and Elvina Ethel Miller Byroad.
She had lived in the White County area most of her life and was a homemaker
She was a member of the former Calvary Baptist Church of Monticello. She was a member of AMVETS of Monticello.
She is survived by her mother of Monon, a daughter Carolyne Blanche Stotler of Monticello, son Ernest Harold Robinson Jr. of Idaville; companion Martin Willoughby of Monticello; brother Alfred Byroad Jr., of Bumpis Mills, Tenn.; sisters Mary Bretzinger of Valparaiso and Darlene Tolbert of Cheyenne, Wyo.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 9 at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Pastor Olin Strader officiating. Burial was in Bedford Cemetery

Ethel Richardson
March 15, 1907 - April 24, 1992
Ethel Richardson, 85, Monon died Friday, April 24; at the Rensselaer Care Center. She had been a patient there for two months. She had been ill for three months.
She was born March 15, 1907, to Joseph H. and Minnie Bell Stephens Richardson, in Monon.
She was a 1926 graduate of Monon High School and was a 1926 graduate of the librarians' school in Indianapolis.
She was a head librarian for the Monon Town and Township Public Library from 1930-1968. She was head librarian at New Carlisle, from 1968-72 and retired in 1972.
She was a member of Monon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Dale, Brookston; two nieces, Jerilynn Burgess, Indianapolis and Kay Franscoviak, Battle Ground; and two nephews, James J., Bremen and Dale R., Lihue, Hawaii. Two sisters and a brother are deceased.
The funeral was Monday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Roy Lee officiating. Burial was in Monon Cemetery.

Veda Craig Richardson

Veda Craig Richardson, 91, Lafayette, formerly of Brookston, died Feb. 22, in Home Hospital Lafayette, where she had been a patient in the extended care unit since 1989.
She was born to John Seth and Sarah Reno Craig, in Grayson County, Ky. She was married to Everett Lee Richardson, Feb. 4, 1931, in Clarkson, Ky. He died Oct. 15, 1966.
She graduated in 1921, from Clarkson High School, Ky. and attended Western Kentucky Teachers College.
She had lived in the Brookston community from 1931, until she. entered the hospital in 1989.
She taught 3rd grade at Reynolds Elementary for several years, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of the Brookston Federated Church and. former member of the Prairie Homemakers Extension Club, Brookston Senior Citizens Club and Indiana Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include one son, Gordon, Kerrville, Tx.; a daughter, Pauline Timberlake, Cape Coral, Fla.; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and five sisters preceded in death.
The funeral was Wednesday in the Brookston Federated Church, the Rev. Ralph G. Smith officiating. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of services.
Burial was in IOOF Brookston Cemetery.

Corrbin Orlan Riddle, 86, of Chalmers died Monday, June 18 at his residence.

Trudi A. Riegle
September 24, 1957 - August 29, 1991
Trudi A. Robinson Riegle, 33, Brookston, died early Thursday, August 29, in a one-car crash on Indiana 43 near County Road 900N.
She was born in Lafayette September 24, 1957, the daughter of Wayne T. and Janet L. Koebcke Robinson of Francesville. She married John Riegle, in 1987, and he survives.
She was a 1975 graduate of West Central High School and also graduated from Lafayette Beauty Academy in 1976.
She was a member of the First Christian Church at Francesville. Also surviving besides her husband and parents are two daughters, Dana Feldhaus and Amber Riegle; a son, Andrew Feldhaus all at home; a sister, Mrs. Gary (Sandra) Papezycki of Lafayette; a brother, Dennis Robinson, Rensselaer.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shari.
Fimeral services were Saturday, August 30, at the Querry Ulbricht Funeral Home Francesville with the Rev. Jim Ketchen officiating. Interment at Roseland Cemetery.
Jacob Andrew Rinker
July 17, 1997 - October 5, 1998
Jacob Andrew Rinker 14 month old son of John E. and Susan B. (Saltzman) Rinker of Van Buren, Ohio died Monday, October 5th in Children's Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born July 17, 1997 in Findlay, Ohio.
His maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clair Saltzman of Arcadia, OH and maternal Great Grandmother is Martha Saltzman of Alvada, OH.
Surviving besides his parents are a brother Jason Rinker and a sister Lindsay Rinker, both at home.
He attended Salem United Methodist Church in Cass Twp. Ohio and attended Early Interventions at Blanchard Valley School in Findlay, OH.
Services were on Thursday, October 9 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home in Findlay with Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Burial was in Bechtel Cemetery
in VanBuren, OH.

Martha Avis Risk

Martha Avis Risk, 77, Roachdale, IN, died March 19, 1990, after a long illness.
She was born April 12, 1912. She taught Home Ec and Science in the Brookston school during the 1940's.
Services were conducted in the Roachdale Presbyterian Church, March 23, 1990, with Rev. Leo Schmidt and Father Matt Faulstich officiating. Interment was in Roachdale Cemetery. Services and Morgan of Roachdale were in charge of the service.
Charles E. Robbins
May 27, 1932 - January 8, 2001
Charles E. Robbins, 68, of Fairhope, Alabama, a former Brookston resident, died Monday. January 8, 2001, at Thomas Hospital, Fairhope.
He was born in Logansport on May 27, 1932 to Charles F. and Florence Greenlee Robbins. He married Emily Pavell in Peru, on August 6, 1950. She survives.
He was a 1950 graduate of Monticello High School and attended one year of college.
He lived in Brookston for 43 years, moving to Alabama two years ago.
He was a technical associate with Eli Lilly & Company, Lafayette from 1961 until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of the Brookston Federated Church.
He was a member of Libanus Lodge 154 F&AM, Monticello. He was a member and Past Master of the former Brookston Lodge and a member of Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, York Rite of Lafayette and Order of Eastern Star, Crystal Chapter, of Monticello. He served as past-president and treasurer of the former Brookston Optimist Club and was a Prairie Township Trustee from 1975 to 1990.
He is survived by his wife; son David (Trish) Robbins of West Lafayette; daughters, Sharon Robbins of Lafayette and Carol (Phil) Ruemler of Brookston; brother Richard Robbins of Palm Desert, Calif. And grandchildren, Scott, Tony, Lisa and Sarah Robbins and Jera, Krista, Alisha and Shawn Ruemler.
A grandson is deceased.
Funeral services were at the Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston on Saturday with Rev. Dr. Lelan MeRcynolds officiating.
Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.

Harry J. Roberts
November 29, 1898 - May 6, 1988
Harry J. Roberts, 89, 1010 N. Salisbury, West Lafayette, died Friday, May 6, at 12:32 a.m. at Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in the hospital's skilled care unit since Jan. 14, 1987.
He was born Nov. 29, 1898, in West Lafayette, to Frank A. and Cenie Medendorp Roberts.
He married Gladys E. Dyer, June 25, 1938 in Brookston. She died July 28, 1936.
He was employed by the Pullman Co. in Chicago as an instructor and conductor, retiring in Oct. 1968. He was a World War I veteran and a life member of American Legion Post No. 11.
Surviving are two brothers, Carl of Brookston and Lawrence of Chicago. One brother is deceased.
The funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston, with the American Legion Post No. 11 chaplain and adjutant officiating. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Margaret J. Payne Roberts
December 25, 1903 - January 29, 1995
Margaret J. Payne Roberts, 91, of Napa, California, and formerly of Brookston, died Sunday, Jan. 29, at Napa.
She was born Dec. 25, 1903, to Albert and Cora Smock Payne in Bridgeton. She was married Aug. 8, 1937, to Carl J. Roberts, in Brazil. He died March 1, 1990.
She lived in Brookston from 1931 to 1994, before moving to Napa. She taught school from 1931-1938, at Brookston High School and Brookston Elementary, and again from 1961-66. She also taught at Round Grove and Chalmers Schools.
She attended Indiana State University and graduated in 1931, with a bachelor's degree in music and art.
She was a former member of the Eastern Star, the Brookston United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She directed the church choir and played the organ for 50 years for the church. She was a 50-year member and past president of Psi Iota Xi (Chi chapter).
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. F.T. (Linda) Feutz of Napa; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Feutz Kobylka and Susan Feutz Mautz, both of California.
Her infant brother Julian, brother Russell and sister, Lucille Payne, are deceased.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at the Brookston United Methodist Church, the Rev. Lore Blinn Gibson officiating. Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, is in charge of the service.
Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery, Brookston,
