Amy Jansen
Amy I. Jansen, 93, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2002, at the Evansville Protestant Home.
She was a 1927 graduate of Bosse High School. She worked at Swift & Company for 36 years and retired as secretary for the plant superintendent before it closed in 1966. She was a lifelong member of Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church and currently a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. She was past president of the National Secretaries Association and a charter member of the Professional Secretary International. She was a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals where she received the 55-year Service Award.
A brother James Jansen Sr., of Evansville, nephew James Jansen Jr., 2 nieces Judith Jansen and Jenny Ellis, and great nieces and nephews survives her.
A brother Robert A. Jansen, preceded her in death on December 12, 2001, in Cape Coral, Florida.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, with Rev. Shane O'Neill officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 12, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastminster Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
Marianna Joest
Marianna E. Joest, 70, of Evansville, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She retired from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. as a teacher.
Surviving are her husband, Bob; five sons, David R., Daniel L., Michael A., Stephen W. and Anthony B.; two sisters, Virginia Glascock and Katherine Eakins; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial service and visitation will be private. Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Benedict Building Fund in Ferdinand, Ind.
Drucilla Kolb
Drucilla E. Kolb, 92, of Evansville, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, February, 11, 2002, at Good Samaritan Home.
She was born February 5, 1910.
Drucilla was a member of First Christian Church. She retired from Shane Uniform Co. after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1976.
Survivors are sisters, Beatrice Mettle of Evansville and Florette Rideout of Henderson, Ky.; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Alexander East Chapel, Reverend Mitch Stichler officiating, entombment in Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation is Wednesday 3 to 7 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel.
Gerald Latham
Gerald W. Latham, 79, of Winter Springs, Fla., formerly of Evansville, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation in Newburgh.
Surviving are five sons, James, Rev. David, Roger, William and Scott; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home in Henderson, Ky., burial in Oak Hill Cemetery
in Evansville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Arie Paxson Jr.
Arie M. Paxson Jr., 81, of Evansville, died Saturday, February 9, 2002, at 8:45 p.m. He was born July 19, 1920.
Arie was a graduate of Bosse High School class of 1937. He was in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific for 37 months during World War II.
Arie owned and operated Paxson Electric from 1947 to 1984 and also owned and operated Paxson Antiques from 1967 until 1997. He was a charter member of Rolling Hills Country Club and was also actively involved in Evansville military Collector's Club, where he had served as president.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenn Dee, in 1990, and also his grandson, Nicholas Paxson, in 1990.
Survivors are sons, Michael and his wife, Susie Paxson of Ellettsville, Ind., and Nick and Russ Paxson, both of Evansville; a daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Tom Ubelhor of Evansville; grandchildren, Christy Paxson of New Orleans, La., Joe Paxson of Bloomington, Ind., Russ Paxson Jr. of Bloomington, and Kristopher Paxson and Jeffrey and Elizabeth Ubelhor, all of Evansville; and a beloved friend of the family, Debbie Glover.
Services will be today at 10:30 a.m. at Alexander East Chapel, private graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 9 a.m. until service time at Alexander East Chapel.
Dianna Schallon
Dianna (Bonds) Schallon, 56, of St. Louis formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in St. Louis of kidney failure.
She had worked as a nurse's aide at Deaconess Hospital.
Surviving are two sisters, Rose Lee Vowels and Priscilla Dillback.
Mayer Funeral Home handled the arrangements, burial was in National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Mo.
O. Glenn Stahl
O. Glenn Stahl, 91, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Washington House in Virginia.
He had a 34-year career with the federal government.
Surviving area daughter, Dr. Elaine Stahl Leo; a son Dr,. Alan Glenn Stahl; a sister, Jane Stahl; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alexander Funeral Home North, burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glenn and Marie Jane Stahl Scholarship Award Fund at the University of Evansville.
Helen Stock
Helen Pauline Stock, 85, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2002, at Holiday Healthcare Center. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary Country Club, the Germania Auxiliary, the Sweet Adelines and a past member of the Evansville Civic Theatre.
A sister, Eloise Fitzgerald of Evansville and several nieces and nephews survive her. Her husband, Francis D. Stock, preceded her in death on July 11, 2001.
Services will be on Wednesday, February 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with Fr. Ted Tempel officiating.
Visitation will be today, from 3 to 7 p.m., with a memorial service at 4:30 p.m., at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel. Visitation continues on Wednesday, February 13, from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum.

Baunita Thomas
Baunita Thomas, 50, of Evansville, died Monday, Feb, 11, 2002, at St. Mary's Riverside. She was born June 28, 1951.
Survivors are a daughter, Tina Allison of Evansville; a son, Jackie Hamaker of Evansville; grandchildren, Alicia, Tanasha, Jeffrey and Jordan Allison and Krystian Hamaker; her mother, Anna Thomas of Evansville; her father, James R. Thomas of Evansville; and brothers, James R. Thomas Jr. of Illinois, and Charles and Richard Thomas, both of Evansville.
Services Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, Reverend Alfred Lott officiating, burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Alexander West Chapel.
Donations may be made to the Liver Association.
Joan Thompson
Joan (Boswell) Thompson, 76, of Evansville, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Calhoun; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Schnieder Funeral Home Norvell Chapel in Mount Vernon, Ind., burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm. Wednesday at the funeral home.
