Alberta H. McCormick

Alberta H. McCormick, 89, Monon, died Tuesday, May 23, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.
She was born April 12, 1911, to Jacob and Mary Vogel Hemmer, in Reynolds. She was married Oct. 24, 1934, to William McCormick, in Reynolds. He died Aug. 19, 1962.
She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in White County. She worked as a cook at North White High School for several years and retired from Schumacher Electric in 1986.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Reynolds, and of the Altar & Rosary Sodality.
She was very active in the Democratic Party and in various clubs and organizations in White County.
She is survived by daughters, Annetta (Donald) Fairchild, Brookston; Ethel (Michael) Kelleher, Burnsville, Minn., Theresa (Dean) Perry of Crystal Lake, Mo., Dolores (Tom) Warner of North Aurora, Ill. and Carol (Jerry) Lapacek, Francesville; sons, William (Arlene) McCormick, Edmonds, Wash.; and Michael (Donna) McCormick, Buffalo; brothers, Richard Vogel, Roswell, N.M. and James Vogel of Los Angeles; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and a step-great-great grandchild.
A son, two sisters, four brothers, a grandson and a great grandson are deceased.
Funeral service was Monday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Reynolds, with the Rev. Richard Miller officiating. Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, was in charge of the service.
Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Reynolds.
Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Heart or Cancer Associations.
Emma C. McCormick
November 22, 1902 - January 19, 2000
Emma C. McCormick, 97 formerly of Lee and Monon, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at Monticello Healthcare Center.
A lifelong resident of White County, she was born Nov. 22, 1902, to Wilhelm and Bertha Amelia Schulz, in Lee. She was married Nov. 21, 1923, to Martin Edward McCormick in Reynolds. He died April 18, 1971.
She was a member of St. Francis Solano Catholic Church, Francesville.
She is survived by daughters, Margaret Lucille (Raymond) Miller of LaCrosse, Mary Alice (Wilmer) Altman of Ambia, Particia Ann (Herbert) McKay of Obetz, Ohio; Charlotte Marie (Norman) Winner of Gwinn, Mich. And Donna Elizabeth (Edward) Rodwine of August, Kansas, sons Joseph Charles (Margaret) McCormick of LaCrosse, Robert James (Marilyn) McCormick of Winamac, Glen Edward (Chris) McCormick of South Chicago Heights, IL, Carl William (Phyllis) McCormick of Lockport, IL and Kenneth John (Barbara) McCormick of Monon, 30 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
Five sisters: Anna Miller, Lena Wacker, Amelia Waling, Minnia Zabel and Wilma Rogers, a daughter Frances Jean McCormick and a son Thomas Richard McCormick are deceased.
A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday at St. Francis Solano Catholic Church in Francesville with the Rev. Paul White officiating. Kellogg Funeral Home was in charge of services.
Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Reynolds.
Margaret E. "Margie" McCormick
January 26, 1936 - January 4, 2002
Margaret E. "Margie" McCormick, 65, a LaCrosse resident since 1961, formerly of Knox, passed away Friday, January 4, 2002 at South Bend Memorial Hospital. She was born January 26, 1936 in Chicago the daughter of Edward and Irene (Poczworowski) Dembowski and graduated from Knox High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wanatah and had formerly been the Dewey Township Trustee.
On August 4, 1962 she married Joseph McCormick who survives along with their two sons, Dale (Jenny) McCormick of Wanatah, Jason (Erica) McCormick of La Crosse; one sister, Alice (Ralph) Condon of Knox, four grandchildren, Andrew, Allison, Trevor and Conner. Her parents, one brother and a son, David, preceded her in death.
A funeral mass was held Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wanatah. Fr. Jerry Schweitzer and Fr. Luke Poczworowski officiated. Burial was in St. Marten's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Irene Bush McCoy
May 11, 1916 - April 1, 1997
Irene Bush McCoy, 80, Brookston, died Tuesday, April 1, at 3:40 a.m. in Home Hospital, Lafayette.
She was born May 11, 1916, to Aussie and Myrtle Conkle Bush, in Round Grove Township in White County. She was married Oct. 1 1939, to William McCoy in Lafayette, and he died May 6, 1990.
She graduated from Chalmers High School in 1935 and attended Lafayette Business College.
She had lived in Brookston since 1947.
She was formerly employed in the contract office at the Administration Building at Purdue.
She was a member of the Brookston Federated Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Phyllis) McGill, Brookston and Mrs. Troy (Judy) Payton, Delphi and one grandson and five great grandchildren. An infant sister is deceased.
Funeral services were Friday at 11 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds and Ralph McVay officiating.
Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorial contributions may be given to charity or the Salvation Army.
William J. McCoy
May 21, 1915 - May 6, 1990
William J. "Bill" McCoy, 74, 607 Davis St., Brookston, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, in a traffic accident north of Brookston.
He was born May 21, 1915, to Tillman Howard and Lydia Meredith McCoy, in Tippecanoe County. He was married Oct. 1, 1939, to Irene Bush. in Lafayette. She survives.
He retired from Fauber Construction in Lafayette in 1981, after 15 years. He was a 1934 graduate of Monitor High School and moved to Brookston in 1947.
He was a member of the Brookston Federated Church and the International Union of Operating Engineers, local 103.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Phyllis) McGill, Brookston and Mrs. Troy (Judy) Payton, Delphi; three brothers, Dwight, Logansport; Leonard, Battle Ground and Russel, Fort Meyers, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Erwin, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mrs. Ted (Jessie) Petit, Crawfordsville; one grandson and two great grandchildren.
Four sisters and one brother are deceased.
The funeral was Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston, the Rev. Duncan MacNab and the Rev. Bill Radcliffe officiating.
Burial was in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
Matthew F. McCutchen
August 15, 1975 - July 28, 2000
Matthew F. McCutchen, 24, died Friday, July 28, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. He was born August 15, 1975, to William McCutchen and Jackie Masterson, in Winamac.
He had lived in Pulaski County prior to moving to Monon in 1988.
He is survived by his parents, William McCutchen, and Jackie Masters, Monon; brother, Adam McCutchen, Monon and sisters, Windy McCutchen, Monon and Ranae Crist, Winamac.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, is in charge of arrangements.
Bill McDonald
December 7, 1928 - March 2, 2000
A Memorial Service is planned on Saturday, July 1, 2000 at 11:00 A.M. at the Monon United Methodist Church for Bill McDonald, former Monon man who died March 2, 2000 in St. George, Utah.
He was born December 7, 1928 in Monon to Byron George McDonald and Sarah Aurilla Ball. He married Emojean Wilson on June 15, 1952 in Monon.
He graduated from Monon High School in 1947 and later graduated from Rutgers University.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Jim of Visalia, CA and Jim of Perry, UT, six grandchildren and three sisters, Dorothy Wood and Pat McDonald both of Monon and Loretta Kolias of Marathon, FL.
Visitation with the family will be at 10:30 AM. at the church.
William B. McDonald
December 7, 1928 - March 2, 2000
William Braze McDonald, 71, died Thursday, March 2, 2000 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St George, Utah.
He was born December 7. 1928 in Monon to Byron George McDonald and Sarah Aurilla Ball. He married Emojean Wilson June 15, 1952 at the Methodist Church in Monon.
He graduated from Monon High School in 1947. He later graduated from Rutgers University in New Jersey. During their marriage, Bill and Emie lived in Indiana, New Jersey, California and Florida They settled in St. George in 1993. Bill was an auditor for IBM Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He was a charter member of the Shepherd Hills United Methodist Church in St. George and chairman of the Church Finance Committee. He belonged to the Elks Club and was a former member of the Bloomington Country Club.
He is survived by his wife Ernie of St. George; sons Jim (Marlene) of Visalia, CA; and Bill (Pam) of Perry, UT; six grandchildren; Kyle Amy, Jeff Courtney, Sarah and Paul; three sisters; Dorothy Wood and Pat McDonald of Monon; and Loretta Kollias of Marathon, FL.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Monday, March 6, 2000 at 11:30 am, at the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary Chapel 110 5. Bluff St. in St. George. Interment will be at a later date in Monon.

Estell McElfresh
November 22, 1916 - April 27, 1991
Estelle McElfresh, 74, Rensselaer, died Saturday, April 27, in Jasper Co. Hospital.
She was born Nov. 22, 1916, in Tompkinsville, Ky. She was married Feb. 21, 1948, to Edward Leroy McElfresh, in Lebanon. He died July 1, 1967.
She moved to Rensselaer in 1948 where she worked at Schumacher Electric Co. as a supervisor. She retired after 22 years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Rensselaer.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Loretta) Peck, Winter Haven, Fla.; three sons, Dean McElfresh, Hebron and Robert McElfresh and Joseph McElfresh, both of Rensselaer; two brothers, Runnell Clay and Hugh Sims;. and a sister Mrs. Clennan (Nina) Cain, Brookston,
Service was Wednesday in Rensselaer.
Isaac 'Cosby' McFall
August 17, 1913 - March 31, 1991
Isaac "Cosby" McFall, 77, R.2, Horseshoe Bend, Brookston, died Sunday, March 31, at 12:20 p.m. Home Hospital, Lafayette, following emergency surgery.
He was born Aug. 17, 1913, to John and Magnolia Carter McFall in Hawesville, Ky. He was married Oct. 23, 1931, to Lula K. Stockhoe at Cannelton and she survives.
For 17 years he lived in Horseshoe Bend area, after moving there from Brookston.
He worked from 1955-75 as custodian at Purdue, before his retirement.
Survivors include a son, Larry, R.2, Horseshoe Bend, Brookston; three daughters, Mrs. Charle (Phyllis) Giarratna, Tom's River N.J.; Mrs. Hurl (Marcella) Gregory, Lafayette and Mrs. John (Brenda) Bower, Lexington, Ill.; two brothers, James, Boonville and Norman, Memphis, Tenn.; two half brothers, William Jennings and Lomax Jennings, both of Buffaloville; two half sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae Palmer and Mrs. Catherine Meyers, both of Buffaloville; a stepsister, Margaret Jennings, Owensboro, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Two brothers are deceased.
The funeral was Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston.
Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
