Glenn Willard Culver

Glenn Willard Culver, 82, of Brookston, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
He was born in Tippecanoe County on January 27, 1921, to Willard T. and Katherine Chase Culver. He married Doris Helen Roark at Badger Grove on September 4, 1941. She died April 1, 1998.
He was a 1939 graduate of Chalmers High School and attended Wabash College.
He farmed all of his life and retired in 1984.
He was a member of Chalmers Community Church.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include sons, Bryan (Jane) Culver of Clay City, Eric (Barbara) Culver of Chalmers, Mark (Bonnie) Culver of New Castle, Phillip (Debbie) Culver of Washington and John (Gina) Culver of Chalmers; brothers Ray (Juanita) Culver and Ivan "Red" (Agnes) both of Chalmers; a sister Marjorie (Howard) Zarse of Chalmers; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at the Hartzler Funeral Home on Friday with Pastor Bill Henderson officiating.
Burial was at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.

Joyce D. Dause
Sept. 10, 1929 - July 13,1999
Joyce Darlene (Hinton) Dause, 69, Chalmers, died Tuesday, July 13, at 6:42 am. in White Co. Memorial Hospital's emergency room. She was horn Sept. 10, 1929, to Walker and May Hinton, in Pine Village. She was married July 13, 1948, to Arnold "Red" Dause in Lafayette. He died Sept. 17, 1985. She attended St James Lutheran School in Lafayette: She was a homemaker. Prior to that time, she was employed at Globe Valve in Delphi and Duncan Meter, Lafayette.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann Brickey of Chalmers, two sons, Duane Lee Dause of Burrows and Dwight Nelson Dause ofReynolds; a stepson, Robert Dauseof Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Bob (Ruth) Bresnahan of Williamsport and Patty Hinton of Fort Wayne; and four grandchildren. Two brothers a sister are deceased.
Funeral services were Friday at Hartzler Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Fluckey officiating. Burial was in Brookston I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
Gladys A. Davisson
August 24, 1911 - March 18, 2000
Gladys A. Dill Davisson, 88, a former Chalmers resident, died Saturday, March 18, at the Brethren healthcare Center in Flora. She was born August 24, 1911, to Benjamin F. and Nellie B. Talbutt Dill, in White County. She was married Dec. 25, 1932 to George Davisson, in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1987. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1930. She lived at Brethren Home since October 1990, moving from Chalmers. She was a member of the Chalmers Community Church. She was a member of Wea Lea Chapter of the American Revolution.
She is survived by daughter, Judy (Robert) Struggles of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; son, Steve (Sue) Davisson of Garfield, Ark.; and nine grandchildren. Four brothers, two sisters and a grandson are deceased.
Funeral service was Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Bill Henderson officiating. Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
Geneva Long Dawkins
February 2, 1918 - September 9, 2000
Geneva Long Dawkins, 82, of Monon, died Saturday, September 9, at 3:55 p.m. in Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer. She was born Feb. 2, 1918, to Robert and Ida Stinson Danner, in Chalmers. She was married January 1, 1939, to Gail Long, in Reynolds. He died October 14, 1964. She then married Terrell Dawkins, Nov. 15, 1975, in Memphis. He died July 17, 2000. She was a homemaker and managed the family farm for 36 years. She lived in the White County area most of her life. She moved from Wolcott to a farm northwest of Monon in 1951. She was a member of Southwest Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was a Sunday School teacher for 10 years at Monon United Methodist. She was a member and former president of Monon Town and County Home Economics Club and a former chairman of the Monon March of Dimes. She also served on the White County Fair Board and was on the board of directors of White County R.E.M.C.
She is survived by a daughter, Dixie (Jeff) Brown of Monon; step-sons, Bob and Chuck Dawkins of Memphis and Jim Dawkins of Dallas; brother, Robert Danner of Jonesboro, Ark.; sisters, Virginia (Dale) Schoner of Monon and Audrey (Andrew) Libertone of Elkhart; grandsons, Gail Brown of Bowie, Maine and Matthew Brown of Danville, Ky.; and five step grandchildren.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Steve Birch officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery
in Brookston.
Memorials may be made to the Monon EMTs.
Gay Anderson Delaney
August 21, 1920 - December 16, 1996
Gay Anderson Delaney, 70, 205 High School Ave., Battle Ground, died Monday of an apparent heart attack. She was born August 21, 1920 in Lafayette to Charles and Jenny Layton. A homemaker, her first marriage was to Harold J. Anderson in Lafayette on July 20, 1935. He died July 21, 1966. Her second marriage was to Owen Delaney in April 1987. He died in November 1987. She had lived with her close friend, Harold C. Cochran in Lafayette.
Survivors include one son, Otis C. Anderson of Battle Ground; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Sandra) Snider, Monticello, and Mrs. Greg (Vickie) Carter; Booneville, IN; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 6 sisters and a grandson, Jeff Snider.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating. Burial was in Pretty Prairie Cemetery
near Battle Ground. Memorials may be made to Pretty Prairie Cemetery

Edith Alice Dellinger
June 11, 1913 - December 20,1999
Edith Alice Dellinger, 86, Monticello. died Monday, Dec. 20, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born June 11, 1913, to Bascom and Lillian Houk Allie, in Iowa. She was married July 30, 1936 to David L. Dellinger. He survives. She attended Rolling Prairie High School and operated a restaurant in Wolcott for several years. She lived in Wolcott from 1933- 49 and then moved to Monticello. She was a member of Monticello Christian Church.
She is survived by sons, Marvin Dellinger of Solana Beach, Calif., Roger Dellinger of Oceanside, Calif; and David Dellinger of Janesville. Ga.; daughters, Cindy Rabot of Scottsdale, Ariz and Donna Johnson of Fairfield, Calif.; sisters, Irene Oberlander, Wolcott and Rosemary Young, Brookston; brother, Raymond Allie, Rensselaer; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters.
Private graveside service was Thursday at West Point Cemetery, Wolcott, with the Rev. Jim Childress officiating. Foster Funeral Home, Wolcott, was in charge of arrangements.
Karen A. Deloria
August 22, 1950 - September 27, 2002
Karen A. Deloria, 52, of Monticello died Friday, September 27, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
She was born in Logansport on August 22, 1950 to Everett Sigman and Fuschia "Rose" Fraser. She married Terry "Ted" E. Deloria on March 23, 1980 in Monticello. He survives.
She had lived in the Monticello community most of her life and attended Twin Lakes High School.
She was an active member of the Monticello Christian Church. She was a Sunday school teacher, chairperson of the deaconess, leader of Junior Youth Fellowship and several other committees within the church.
She was a sales support specialist for business banking at the Bank One of Indianapolis N/A in Lafayette.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and bowling.
Survivors include her husband, mother and step-father, Fuschia and Monroe Heglin of Monticello; three sons, Doug Sass of Monticello, Tracey Deloria of Monticello and Don (Cheryl) Sass of Missouri; three daughters, Beth Cook of Independence, Wisc., Teri (Brad) Bucher of Daleville, and Angela (Chad) Pancake of Monticello; one sister Vicki (Vern) Dishon of Monticello and two brothers, Bill Flora of Monticello and Doug Huddleston of Oklahoma.
She had 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A grandson is deceased.
Funeral services were at the Monticello Christian Church on Monday with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating. Burial was at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery
in Monticello.
Miller Roscka Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
Carroll D. "Skip" Dieterle
December 24, 1930 - December 11, 2002
Carroll D. "Skip" Dieterle, 71, of Brookston, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
He was born in Brookston on December 24, 1930 to Fred and Margaret Utley Dieterle.
He attended Brookston School.
He. was a former Ross-Gear employee.
He served in the U.S. Army as a private from January 25, 1952, to May 8, 1952, at Ft. Bliss, Texas, in the Btry. B 7th Tng Bn AAA RTC and was released medical disqualification.
Surviving are a brother, Roger (Carolyn) Dieterle of Brookston; sister, Dorthea M. Duplin of Brookston; and companion, Brace Pratt.
A memorial service was on Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Jan Dimick officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at I.O.O.F Cemetery, Brookston.
Francis Diveley
[1916?] - January 21, 2003
Francis C. Diveley, 86, of Decatur, Ill., the brother of Wilma (Fred) Miller of Monticello died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at his residence.
He retired from A.E Staley after over 40 years of employment.
Funeral services were Friday, January 24, 2003, at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home, Decatur.
Burial was at Point Pleasant Cemetery, Decatur.

Edna E. Dobbins
May 8, 1909 - September 14, 2002
Edna E. Dobbins, 93, of Monon, died Saturday, September 14, 2002, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare.
She was born May 8, 1909 in Francesville to Adolph and Anna Walters Onken. She married Alden A. Dobbins in Niles, Michigan on October 24, 1926. He died on February 20, 1994.
She was a homemaker and lived in the Francesville and Monon area all her life.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Francesville.
Surviving are a daughter, Patsy (Gilbert) Smith, of Monticello, granddaughters Pam Hanway, of Monticello and Julie Steckman of Colorado; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and eight brothers.
Services were Tuesday at the Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Birch officiating.
Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Francesville or the Monon First Baptist Church.
Clarence L. Dyer
October 26, 1920 - October 18, 1988
Clarence Leo Dyer, 85, of 405 Second St., died at 2:35 a.m. Saturday at St Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He had been a patient there for one month. He was born in Brookston, Oct. 26, 1920, to Elza Clarence and Ellen Beulah Tull Dyer. He married Lela L. Rhodes in Monticello, Aug. 28, 1951. She survives. He attended Brookston schools and was a life member of the Moose Lodge 908 in Monticello. He was also a member of the 25 Club and had a fellowship in the Moose. He retired in 1979 from Purdue, where he worked for 20 years as a welder in the physical plant. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the South Pacific with the 96th Air Service Squadron. He also received a purple heart.
Surviving with his wife are a brother, Dale of Brookston and a sister, Mrs. Maxine Blackman of Brookston. Three sisters are deceased.
Services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with Rev. Duncan McNab officiating. Burial was in Bunnell Cemetery
at Frankfort.
