Todd E. Clark
December 26, 1981 - January 6, 2001
Todd E. Clark, 19, Monon died Saturday, January 6. 2001 at his residence.
He was born on December 26, 1981, in Rensselaer, the son of Jim L. Clark and Frances Van Voorst Napier.
He was a senior at North White High School and a lifetime resident of the community.
He was a former member of White County 4-H and played basketball in grade school and junior high.
He attended Monon First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his father of Monon, his mother of Lafayette; paternal grandmother, Meriam Clark of Monon; step-paternal grandfather Edwin Napier of Lafayette; three sisters, Aleta Clark, Mary Clark and Jennifer Clark, all of Monon; a stepbrother, Rusty Napier, Lafayette; and a stepsister Melissa Martin of Austin, TX.
Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. today at Kellogg Funeral Home with Rev. James Goodrum officiating.
Burial will be at Bedford Cemetery, Monon.

Marie Ella Stover Clawson
January 7, 1915 - April 30, 2001
Marie Ella Tatman Stover Clawson, 86, of Brookston, died Monday, April 30, 2001 at her residence. She had been ill for three months.
She was born January 7, 1915, in Linden, to Levi C. and Mae-Belle Robertson Tatman. Her first marriage was to Roy Clayton Stover on October 3, 1937. He died on January 21, 1967.
Her second marriage was to Jim Clawson on October 1, 1980. He died November 30, 1987.
She attended Brookston schools.
She was a homemaker and worked at Purdue University's Harrison Hall for nine years.
She was a member of Brookston United Methodist Church and UMW. She was a member of Willing Workers, Brookston Senior Citizens and Twin lakes Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a son, Glen L. (Karen) Stover of Brookston; three daughters, Janet M. (William) Rizoff of Waukegan, Ill., Mary A. (Robert) Wilbanks and Judy M. (Dale) Bartlett, both of Brookston; a stepson, Chris Clawson. Three step daughters, Jamie Smith, Ramona Booth, and Birdina Brunton; two brothers, John Tatman, of Monon and Dale Tatman of Monticello; three sisters, Mary Duey of Attica, Irene Hartman of Elgin, Ill., and Sarah Sigman of Monticello. 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A brother, two sisters and a daughter Phyllis Jean Stover are deceased.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the Hartzler Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Jan Dimmick officiating.
Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be made to Brookston United Methodist Church.
James Paul Clouse
April 26, 1930 - March 10, 2000
James Paul Clouse, 69, of Monticello, died Friday, March 10, in White County Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 26, 1930, to Paul Orlando and Ruth Leona Hayworth Clouse, in Rensselaer He was married Feb. 12, 1950, to Lucille Lutes, in Delphi. She died Jan. 6, 1995. He then married Billie Smith in Monticello, May 3, 1997 and she survives.
He was employed at J.R. Hayworth Wool & Poultry from age 15 until starting at People's State Bank in 1974. He served as president of the bank from 1980-1991 and was on the Peoples State Bank Board of Directors from 1968 until present.
He had lived in Francesville most of his life, moving to Monticello three years ago.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Francesville.
He was a member of American Legion Post 228 of Francesville. He was a former firefighter on the Francesville Volunteer Fire Department and former Library Board member. He was an avid pilot, golfer and I.U. fan.
He is survived by his wife, Billie (Smith) Clouse; sons, Richard D. Clouse, Francesville and James A. Clouse, Indianapolis; daughters, Linda Fuson, Lafayette and Susan Joseph, Indianapolis; stepdaughters, Terry Miller of Munster and Tammy. Downey of Buffalo; stepson, Ron Smith of Highland; six grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren and a great grandchild. His first wife and an infant daughter are deceased.
Funeral services were Monday at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home, Francesville, with Jim Ketchen officiating.
Burial was in the Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
Memorials may be given to the Francesville Christian Church, Francesville Library or the new town hall building fund.
Lawrence W. Cobleigh
September 4, 1935 - February 26, 2003
Lawrence W. Cobleigh, 67, of Monon, died Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at Heritage Healthcare Center, West Lafayette.
He was born at Oxford on September 4, 1935, to Herbert Glenn and Esther Lucille Bart Cobleigh. He married Carol Hall at Morocco on April 26, 1969. She survives.
He was a 1953 graduate of Raub High School.
He was a tool and die maker at Omni Forge in Remington for 34 years.
He had resided in the Monon community for 30 years.
He was a former member of the Monon Odd Fellows Lodge.
Other survivors include a brother, Michael Cobleigh of Earl Park; and a sister Oma Halsema of Lafayette.
A brother is deceased.
Funeral services were Friday at Kellogg Funeral Home, in Monon with Rev. Don Newman officiating.
Burial was at Fairlawn Cemetery, Kentland.
Memorials may be made to the Monon First Responders.
Robert E. Coffee
June 1, 1917 - December 30, 2002 Robert E. Coffee, 85, of Brookston, died Monday, December 30, 2002, at his residence.
He was born on June 1, 1917, in Decatur, to Edward L. and Gouldie Brown Coffee. He married Margaret Wertzberger on Feb. 19, 1941, in Decatur. She died on May 14, 1998.
He retired from Inland Steel, Chicago, in 1976. He moved to the community from Highland, Ill. [i.e., Ind.]
He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Center, West Lafayette.
Surviving are daughters, Mary Draskovick [i.e., Draskovich] of Van Nuys, Calif., Karen (Mitchell [i.e, Michel]) Wagner of Whiting and Kathleen Coffee and Sharon Gard, both of Brookston; sons Robert D. (Deb) Coffee of Las Vegas, Terrence [i.e., Terence] P. (Eileen) Coffee of Aberdeen, Md. and Richard F. (Melanie) Coffee of Los Angeles; sister, Vera Coughlin of Casa Grande, Calif. [i.e., AZ]; and six grandchildren.
A brother, Edward L. Coffee [Jr.] is deceased.
Funeral services were Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Center, West Lafayette.

Francis "Bill" Lewis Cooley
June 12, 1924 - December 22, 1999
Francis "Bill" Lewis Cooley, 75, of Monon, died at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 1999 at White County Memorial Hospital in Monticello following an illness of 3 years.
He was born June 12, 1924 in Monon, the son of Leonard and Geneva Helfrich Cooley. He marriage was to Lois Lamport in Monon on December 31, 1950. She died December 24, 1994.
A member of the First Baptist Church in Monon, he had worked for Monon Crushed Stone for 27 years as secretary- treasurer and bookkeeper. He worked for 14 years at Fauber Construction Co.. in Lafayette.
A veteran of World War II he had served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater on a troop ship.
He was a life long resident of Monon where he belonged to the VFW and was a 50 year member of the Monon American Legion.
For years he personally placed flags on all the veteran's graves in the Monon area cemeteries for the Memorial Day.
Funeral services were Monday at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon with Rev. Steve Birch officiating. Burial was in Monon Cemetery
with full military Rites.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
Roy Cottrell
November 12, 1935 - March 15, 2003
Roy L. Cottrell, 67 of Headlee, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Clarian Health partners, Methodist Campus, Indianapolis.
He was born November 12, 1935, in Calhoun County, W.Va., to John Jackson and Stella Ann Cottrell. He married Violet Humphrey in Zanesville, Ohio on May 6, 1959, and they were divorced. He then married Barbara Ann Cottrell in Pulaski County on March 17,1990. She died on December 26, 1994.
He moved to the Monticello area in 1965.
He was an off-bearer for Hites Sawmill in Buffalo, where he worked for 35 years before retiring two years ago.
He liked to play dominoes and horseshoes and work in his garden.
Surviving with his ex-wife, of Reynolds, are sons John Cottrell, Joe Cottrell and Daniel Cottrell, all of Monticello; daughters Donna Snavley of Idaville and Diane Alviles of Delphi; sisters, Viola Helmic of Minnora, W. Va., Alma Frazier of North Judson and Feila Cottrell of Zanesville, Ohio; brother, Orin "Duffy" Cottrell of Minnora, W. Va.; companion, Lulu belle Finley of Headlee; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A daughter, three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Funeral Services were Tuesday at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Royal Center.
Burial was in the Bell Center Cemetery.
