Jason Paul Culp

Jason Paul Culp, 25, Brookston, died Wednesday, August 2 at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis, where he had been a patient since June 18.
He had a bone marrow transplant in March.
He was born May 3, 1975, to Jerry and Lizabeth A. Flynn Culp in Lafayette.
He was a former employee of Wagner Electric, Lafayette.
He was associated with the Brookston Church of Christ.
He enjoyed watching football and playing basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon Menk Culp; daughter, Tosha Nicole Culp, Delphi; grandparents, Oral and Hazel Flynn, Chalmers and Jim and Doris Culp, Monon; sisters, Kimberly Brown, Chalmers, and Amber Culp, Brookston.
A graveside service was held Saturday at Chalmers Cemetery
with Rev. Shannon Toye officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Leukemia Society of America.
Sandra Jean Day
October 30, 1935 - June 14, 2000
Sandra Jean Day, 64, of Monon, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000 at White County Memorial Hospital following an illness of five years. She was born in South Bend on October 30, 1935, the daughter of Eugene and Freeda Marnocha Barnard. She married Jack L. Day in South Bend on June 14, 1969. He survives. She was a 1948 graduate of Riley High School in South Bend. She was a homemaker and had lived in Monon for 27 years, coming from South Bend.
She is survived by her husband, daughters, Sue Stickler of South Bend, Val Fritz of Winamac and Tracy Burch of Monon; sons, Gary Barnard, Chris Woolverton and Kevin Woolverton, all of South Bend; stepsons. Kerry Day of Mishawaka and Rick Day of South Bend; stepdaughter, Donna Gaskill of Edwardsburg, MI; sisters Linda Batzel of South Bend and Cora Lie Sherrill of Mishawaka. She had 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service was held today at Bedford Cemetery
with Rev. Steve Birch officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes. Association. Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon was in charge of arrangements.
Everrett L Denham
February 7, 1927 - May 11, 1990
Everrette L. Denham, 63, Brookston, died Friday, May 11, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in failing health four years. He was born, Feb. 7, 1927, to Estil A. and Irene Anderson Denham in Wingate. He retired in 1987 from Purdue where he was a service worker. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Elmwood Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Diane J. Howe, Lafayette and Mrs. Brenda Larcenaire, Arizona; two sons, Kent L, Brookston and Stanley C., Lafayette; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil and Eugene, both of Florida; three sisters, Mrs. Opal Ray, Salem, Mrs. Maxim Grayson and Mrs. Wilmeth Garrett, both of Florida. One brother is deceased.
The funeral was Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Gayle M. Crowe officiating. Burial was in Battle Ground Cemetery.
Virginia "Ginny" Drake
May 15, 1928 - August 5, 2002
Virginia 'Ginny' Drake, 74 of Chalmers, died Monday, August 5, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
She was born on May 15, 1928 in Monticello, to Clarence and Iva Robbins Carlisle. She married James Drake on March 30, 1951. He died April 11, 1987.
She was a 1946 graduate of Chalmers High school.
She had 1ived in Monon for 30 years, and had lived in the Chalmers Apartments since 1991.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Monon Methodist Church, and attended Chalmers Community Church.
Surviving are a son, Bradley Keith Drake of Monticello; grandchildren Jackson Carlyle Drake and Annalise Drake both of West Lafayette; and 10 nieces and 11 nephews.
Three brothers, Leslie, Robert and Lynn Carlisle, and two sisters Helen Abbott Shuman and Ruth Howell are deceased.
Funeral services were August 9th at Chalmers Community Church with Hartzler Funeral Home of Brookston in charge.
Burial was in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.
Memorials may be made to the Chalmers Community Church Elevator Fund.
Bruce DuVall
April 22, 1907 - April 25, 2001
Bruce DuVall, 94, 6972D-1000N, Monticello, died Wednesday, April 25, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare. He resided at the center since December 2000.
He was born April 22, 1907, to Paul Hugh and Rosa Kathryn (Sheets) DuVall, in White County. He was married June 29, 1941, to Velda Ruth Gilmore and she died Jan. 15, 1987.
He lived in White County most of his life and lived in Buffalo since 1957.
He was a grain and dairy farmer all his life.
He was a member of the Buffalo Brethren Church, where he served as a deacon and trustee.
He is survived by sons, Jack (Ruth) DuVall of Buffalo and Marvin (Alva) DuVall of Lebanon, Tennessee, daughters, Janice (Wayne) Spencer of Boise, Idaho and Kay (Joe) Martinez of Fort Wayne; a son-in-law, Bill Christian of Monticello; a sister, Ruth DuVall of Monon; nine grandchildren and a great grandson.
A daughter, Carol Christian, a grandson, five brothers and three sisters are deceased. His son, Dean DuVall has been missing in action in Vietnam since March 13, 1966.
Services were Saturday at the Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello, with Dr. James Elliott officiating.
Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Buffalo Brethren Church or the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department.
Mamie Bele Musall Farmer
January 6, 1905 - May 2, 1993
Mamie Belle Musall Farmer, 88, Chalmers died Sunday, May 2, in White Co. Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since April 28th. She had been ill for the past several years.
She was born Jan. 6, 1905, to S.F. and Estella C. Sharp Musall, in White County and she was married June 28, 1924, to Clyde M. Fanner in St. Joseph, Michigan. He died Nov. 27, 1951.
She had lived since 1946, in Chalmers.
She was a member of Chalmers Community Church and a life member of Chalmers American Legion.
Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Ellen R. Jenkins, Delphi and Mrs. Gene (Donnabelle) Hughes, R.1, Chalmers; a son, Willard F., Chalmers; 12 grand children and 19 great grand children.
A son, Russell served in the U.S. Marines Corps and was killed in action, March 1945.
Also deceased are four brothers; Oliver, Bill, Bob and Raymond; a grandson, David Jenkins; and a great grandson, Joseph "Joey" Jenkins.
The funeral was Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Rev. Loren Shuman officiating.
Burial was in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
Charles L. Gross
November 24, 1917 - December 27, 1998
Charles L. Gross, 81, former Brookston resident, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998 at 11 48 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Delphi. He had been a patient there since July.
He was born Nov. 24, 1917 in Washington County to Charles Herman and Ella Barrett Gross. He married Iva Lucas Slauter on Dec. 13, 1964 in Brookston. She died Feb. 8,1994.
He moved to Brookston in. December 1939 from Orange County, Indiana.
The Herbert Roadruck farm had employed him and Wickersham Seeds, both of Brookston He retired from United Feed of Brookston in 1981.
Surviving are a stepdaughter. Barbara Larimer of Brookston, a niece, Colleen Trinkle of Indianapolis; two stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
A sister is deceased.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Bunal was in the Battle Ground Cemetery, Battle Ground.
Edna I. Sickler Gwin
June 16, 1922 - July 24, 2002
Edna I. Sickler Gwin, 80, of Monticello, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
She was born in Monticello on June 16, 1922 to Cecil and Laura Kellenburger Sickler. She married Rev. Ralph S. Gwin in Guernsey on June 16, 1957. He died on Sept. 4, 1976.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Monticello United Methodist Church and the Helen Wilks Circle.
Survivors include a daughter Esther (John) Danford of Monticello; a step-daughter, Alice (Verl) Wagoner of Delphi; brothers Clyde Sickler, Monticello, Floyd Sickler of Idaville, and Russell Sicker of Chalmers; a sister Alma (V.J.) Fowler of Pennsylvania; six step grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren; and four step great-great-grandchildren.
Two sisters, two brothers, a stepson and two step grandchildren are deceased.
Services were Monday at Fisher-Voorhis Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Berkshire officiating. Burial was in Bedford Cemetery, Monon.
