Colleene Adore Larkin
January 2, 1926 - September 19, 1999
Colleene Adore Larkin, 73, of Reynolds died Sundy, September 19, 1999 at St. Josephs' Hospital in Kokomo following an extended illness.
She was born January 2, 1926 in Nerced, California, the daughter of Oliver "Al" and Susan Stribling Nunes.
Her first marriage was to Richard L. Chlarson and he is deceased. Her second marriage was to Robert E. Larkin on June 27, 1970. He died June 27, 1988.
A homemaker, she had lived in Reynolds for the past 24 years, coming from Orange County, California.
Surviving are her step-mother. Violet Nunes, a daughter Virginia "Ginger" Jordan of Deerfield Beach. FL and a son Richard L. Chlarson of Mount Dora, Fl., 3 step-daughters, Tamara Ledbetter, Jordan. Utah, Sharon England, and Michelle Larkin of Taylorsville, Utah and a step-son Douglas Larkin of West Valley City. Utah.
Other survivors include a sister, Erma Fitch, Gardin Grove, California and three brothers, Darold Nunes and Larry Nunes of Fresno, California and Bob Nunes of Daily City, California. One brother is deceased. She had two grandsons, Parker L. Jordan and Douglas F. Jordan and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon on Saturday, September 25 with Rev. Steve McQueen and Pastor Bill Martin officiating. There will be a direct cremation following the service.
Friends may call at the Kellogg Funeral Home from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

Miss Sarah Patricia "Pat" McDonald
December 1, 1932 - October 12, 2002
Miss Sarah Patricia "Pat" McDonald, 69, of Monon died Saturday, October 12, 2002 in White County Memorial Hospital following a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.
She was born December 1, 1932 in Monon, the daughter of Byron G. and Sarah Ball McDonald.
She was a 1950 graduate of Monon High School and received her BS Degree in Kansas City, Mo. She had lived in the community most of her life.
She was a member of the Monon United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, Choir member, and Bell Choir director for several years.
She was a social worker and Director of Grace United Methodist Church Lafayette, Indiana Day Care Center for several years and worked as a Social Worker for Area IV Council on Aging for several years.
She was a member of the Monon American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Modern Homemakers Club of Monon.
She was a member of Sweet Adelines singing group for several years.
She was active in the Monon Community and an avid gardener.
Survivors are two sisters, Dorothy Wood, Monon and Loretta Kollias, Marathon, Florida.
Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation.
There was a direct cremation and Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Kellogg Funeral Home is in charge.
Memorials may be made to the Monon United Methodist Church.

A memorial service in celebration of Sarah A. "Pat" McDonald's life is to be held at the Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2002.
Karen S. Reyling
June 18, 1951 - September 21, 1998
Karen S. Reyling, 47, of Monon died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 21 at I.U. Med Center in Indianapolis following a 9 month illness.
She was born June 18, 1951 in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, the daughter of Kenneth and Neva Hammond Smith.
She married Charles F. Reyling June 30, 1987 in Nashville, TN.. He survives. The couple moved to Monon in May of 1994. They moved here from St. Anne, IL.
She had worked at Monon Corp for 4 years and had been a union steward there, She worked at Sandbar Restaurant for 1 year and at a Lafayette Shell Convenience Store for 1 year. She had been a licensed Cosmetologist for 25 years.
She graduated from W. A. Hirt High School in Miller, IN in 1969 and the Lafayette Beauty Academy in 1972.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Charles Reyling Jr., Kankakee, IL and Dennis Reyling, Atlanta GA and one niece Robyn Potts at home in Monon. She had 3 grandchildren. One daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at the Kellogg Funeral Home in Monon at 8:00 p.m. Thursday night, September 24 with Rev. Donald Newman officiating. There will be a direct cremation following visitation which will be from 5:00 p.m. Thursday night until the service.
Memorials may be made to the Monon Public Library.
Rodney Walter Shiveley
[1937?] - July 29, 2002
Rodney Walter Shiveley, 65, formerly of Brookston, died of cancer Monday, July 29, in a hospice facility in Seattle, Washington. He was the son of the late Walter and Alice Shiveley of Brookston.
Shiveley graduated from Brookston High School in 1955, and is remembered in White County as a member of many Brookston championship basketball teams. He attended Hanover College and studied music at Indiana University. He was an avid reader, loved the most challenging crossword puzzles and was a professional pianist.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, 3 children; Kanda, Lora and Michael, their mother, Pat Shiveley, 2 grandchildren, Anthony and Austin, all of Seattle and a sister, Ramona Wessel of Hower Mound, Texas. Preceding him in death was his brother, Rick.
Shiveley will be cremated and a a memorial service will be held in Seattle in the near future.
Emerson Snouwaert
November 19, 1915 - January 8, 1995
Emerson Snouwaert, 79, Monon, died at 9:35 am. Sunday, January 8, at Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer.
He was born November 19, 1915 in Odell to Leo and Mary Smith Snouwaert He married Mary Boothsby in Crown Point on September 7, 1937, and she survives.
He was a farmer for 41 years before retiring. He lived most of his life in the Monon community.
He was a 30-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 323, Logansport.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters. Rheta Sue Hutcheson of Battle Ground, Janet Hoover of Rensselaer, Rose Melton of Monon; one son, Donnie Hall of Chalmers; one brother, Leslie Snouwaert of Attica; one sister, Minnie Snouwaert of Lafayette; five grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
Four brothers and five sisters are deceased.
Funeral services were Wednesday morning in Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, the Rev. George Thomson officiated.
Burial following cremation will be scheduled at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Monon First Response Team.
Mildred Leroux Van Pelt
June 21, 1904 to March 27, 1991
Mildred Leroux Van Pelt, 86, Chalmers, died Wednesday, March 27, at 4 a.m. in Otterbein Care Center. She had been a patient there since March 22.
She was born June 21, 1904, to Leopold and Mithalda Parsons Leroux, in Newfoundland, Canada. She was married Aug. 6, 1963, to John Van Pelt, in Chicago. He died May 25, 1965.
Since 1977, she lived in Chalmers. Before that she lived in Nova Scotia, Canada and Chicago.
She and her husband owned Van Pelt art gallery in Chicago. Survivors include two brothers, Elwin and Urbon Leroux, both of Nova Scotia; and a sister, Mrs. Mabel McCharles of Nova Scotia.
Her body was cremated, with her ashes taken to Nova Scotia at a later date.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston was in charge of the arrangements.
One sister Cora Taylor, preceded in death.
Leobardo Martinez Vargas Vazquez
January 18, 1974 - July 15, 2001
Leobardo Martinez Vargas Vazquez, 27, of Monon was killed in a one-vehicle accident south of Monon on Sunday, July 15, 2001.
He was born in Arroyo Guadalupe La Palma Veracruz, Mexico on January 18, 1974. He was the son of Artemio Vargas Vazquez and Ines Martinez Pacheco Vazquez who survive. They live in Mexico.
He had lived in Monon for 3 years and had worked at HPA Monon Corp. for 1 1/2 years and Beliles Construction for 1 1/2 years.
He had served as a soldier in the Mexican Army.
Surviving besides his parents are four brothers and four sisters all of whom reside in Mexico.
There was a direct cremation and no funeral services were held. Kellogg Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
