Gregory Alan Green
August 1, 1949 - October 10, 2001
Gregory Alan "Gregg" Green, 52 of Monon, died Wednesday, October 10, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. He had been in failing health for a month.
He was born in Lafayette on August 1, 1949, the son of Raymond A. and Violet M. Wheeldon Green. He married Rebecca A. "Becky" Maienbrook. She survives.
He lived in the Monon community all of his life and was a 1968 graduate of North White High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam era.
He worked at Tuthill Transport Technology in Brookston for 13 years.
He was a member of the White County Emergency Management advisory board and Wolcott Progressive Club. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion Post, both of Monticello, and the American Rifle Association.
Other survivors include a son, Craig (Lori) Green of Monon; and a brother Max (Saundra) Green of Monon.
Brothers Ray and Stanley Green a sister, Jane Cooley, are deceased.
Funeral services were on Saturday at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home in Monticello with Rev. Matt Pickett, officiating. Burial, with full military rites was at Chapel Cemetery, Monon.

Raymond A. Green Jr.
December 19, 1933 - September 26, 2000
Raymond A. Green, Jr., 66, of Monon, died unexpectedly at 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, at his home. He was born Dec. 19, 1933, to Raymond Arthur and Mattie Violet Wheeldon Green, in Monon. He was married March 12, 1958, to Mary Kathryn Beasy in Monon, and she survives.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-56 and attained the rank of sergeant.
He was a self-employed carpenter and was retired.
Surviving with his wife are two brothers, Max Green and Gregg Green, both of Monon.
A brother and two sisters are deceased.
Funeral services were conducted Friday at Kellogg Funeral Home, Monon, with the Rev. Donald Newman officiating.
Burial, with full military rites were at the Chapel Cemetery, Monon.
Memorials may be given to the Monon Community Church Building Fund.
Hurl J. Gregory, Jr.
May 7, 1938 - December 26, 2001
Hurl J. Gregory, Jr., 63 of Brookston, died Wednesday, December 26, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
He was born in Orlinda, Tenn. On May 7, 1938, to Hurl J. Sr. and Jessie Dixon Gregory. He married Marcella Richey in Mulberry on June 26, 1982. She survives.
He was employed at Landis-Gyr in Lafayette for 20 years and retired in 1997.
He played country music in the Lafayette, Frankfort and Monticello areas for 24 years.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 1529 of Lafayette.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Bobbie (John) Riegle and Betty (David) Antos, both of Lafayette; children raised in his home, a son Roger (Julie) Gregory of West Lafayette and daughters, Carol (Don) Allen of Lafayette and Mary Kay (Monty) Wright of Walhalla, N.C.; a stepson, George (Marcia) Richey of Brookston; stepdaughters, Vickie (Alan) Barbour and Rhonda (Joe) Greer, both of Brookston; a brother Leon (Maria) Wood of Tempe, Arizona; a sister, Rita (Joe) Gaskill of Lafayette; and 21 grandchildren.
Funeral Services were Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with Pastor Jimmy Burchell officiating.
Burial was in Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens, West Lafayette.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association.
Iva Lucas Slauter Gross
April 23, 1907 - February 8, 1994
Iva Lucas Slauter Gross, 86, of 507 E. 4th Street, Brookston. died Tuesday, February 8th at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been admitted earlier in the day.
She was born in Tippecanoe County on April 23, 1907. Her first marriage was to Ray Slauter. After his death, she married Charles L. Gross on December 13, 1964 and he survives.
She had worked at Purdue University in housekeeping for 5 years and the Brookston Furniture Factory.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Barbara Larimer, Brookston; one sister, Mrs. Edna Wilson, Lafayette; two grandchildren. Taminy Bunch, Delphi, and Vance Larimer, Brookston and one great-grandson Bryan Larimer.
Services will be at the Hartzler Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. Lori Blinn Gibson officiating.
Friends may call at the Hartzler Funeral Home from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. tonight.
Burial will be in Battle Ground Cemetery.
James W. Klepinger Sr.
March 29, 1915 - September 4, 2001
James W. Klepinger Sr., 86, West Lafayette, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, at his residence. He had been ill for one year.
He was born March 29, 1915, to William H and Maude Sherril Klepinger, in Tippecanoe County. He was married March 14, 1946, to Ruby "Betty" Pitman at the First Christian Church, Lafayette. She survives.
He graduated in 1932 from the Battle Ground High School.
He was a retired farmer and was named Tippecanoe County Conservation Farmer of the Year in 1989.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and a member of the Tippecanoe County Farm Bureau Association.
He is survived by his wife; three sons; James W. Klepinger, Jr., West Lafayette; Thomas G. (Kathy) Klepinger, Lafayette and Richard E. (Catherine) Shipley of Ben Wheeler, Texas; three daughters, Beverly Potts, West Lafayette; Susan E. (Danny) Crawford and Janet B. (Merle) Dulin, both of Brookston; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
A brother, John E. Klepinger and a sister, Mary Jane Klepinger are deceased.
Graveside services for family and friends were held Friday at the Battle Ground Cemetery
with the Rev. Jan Dimich officiating.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston was in charge.
LeRoy Rardon Sr.
April 14, 1928 - July 27, 1991
LeRoy Rardon Sr., 63, Brookston, died Saturday, July 27, at 8:20 in Home Hospital. He had been in ill health since July 4. He was living with his daughter, Debra Shoup, of Brookston.
He was born April 14, 1928 in Cando, N.D. and lived moat of his life in the Lafayette area.
He had worked for the past 30 years at Hudlow Cleaners.
Survivors of Mr. Rardon are a son, Leroy Rardon Jr., Pittsburgh; eight daughters; Mrs. Paul (Bonnie) Guinn, West Lafayette; Mrs. Carl (Diane) Cole, Lafayette, Susan Fields, Arcadia, Calif.; Mrs. Anselmo (Linda) Soto, Baldwin Park, Calif., Mrs. Tim (Trudy) Haley, Lafayette; Joan Rardon, St. Petersburg, Fl.; Mrs. Raymond (Debra) Shoup Jr., Brookston and Robin Rardon, Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mrs. Donna Spencer, Lafayette and Mrs. Mary Alice Guedess, Tampa, Fl.; and a brother, Vernon Rardon, Portland, Oregon. Also, 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
Graveside service was at Battle Ground Cemetery, Wednesday, July 31.
Michael D. Richardson
April 5, 1957 - September 17, 1990
Michael D. Richardson, 33, 504 E. 11th St., Brookston, died Monday, Sept. 17, at 6:41 a.rn. in St Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been in failing health since June and hospitalized since September 5.
He was born April 5, 1957, to Donald and Eva Alvarada Richardson, in Lafayette. They survive and live in Battle Ground. He was married Dec. 20, 1976, to Pamela Taskey, who survives.
He had lived in Brookston for 13 years and was a 1976 graduate of Harrison High School, Lafayette. He was employed at Cargill in Lafayette, for 15 years.
He was a coach for the Brookston Little Gridiron league for five years and the Girls Frontier Summer Softball league, for five years. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Lafayette. He was baptized in the Methodist Church.
Surviving with his wife and parents are three daughters, Jessica, 14, Erica, 12 and Monica, 9, all at home; one son, Dustin, 6, at home; a brother, Clayton and a sister, Anna, both of Battle Ground; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Richardson, Lafayette.
The funeral was conducted today at 11 a.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Gene Ansell officiating.
Burial was in Battle Ground Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Summer Frontier Softball League.
Beverly A. Rush
June 13, 1951 - August 4, 1992
Beverly Ann Richardson Rush, 41, R.5, Monticello, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 11:15 a.m., in St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, where she was admitted Monday. She had been in failing health since 1988.
Mrs. Rush formerly worked for Battle Ground Bait and Tackle and the Dairy Barn in Delphi.
Born June 13, 1951, in Lafayette, she graduated in 1969 from Battle Ground High School and attended Business College in Lafayette. She lived in Delphi before moving to Monticello, six years ago.
She was married July 20, 1971, to Charles T. Rush, who survives.
Mrs. Rush enjoyed playing euchre.
Also surviving are a brother, Ralph Steven Richardson, Flora and two sisters; Mrs. Linda Marie Ruhlander, R.1, Battle Ground and Lisa May Richardson, Lafayette. Her grandmothers, Mrs. Velora Bell, Lafayette and Mrs. Ruby Wall. Battle Ground. Her parents, Arthur and Sue Wall Richardson preceded in death.
Graveside service for the family and friends was Thursday at 2 p.m. in Battle Ground Cemetery.
Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, was in charge of arrangements.
