Lillian Ade

Lillian Ade, 79, of Brookston, died Friday, May 21, at St Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi.
She was born March 26, 1920, to Gottlobe and Marie Wien Ade, in Tippecanoe County. She graduated in 1938 from Brookston High School.
She was a Brookston resident since 1924. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Otterbein.
Survivors include two sisters, Edna Welch of Delphi and Alberta Ade of Brookston: a nephew. Dick Welch: great nephews. Todd and Chad Welch; great nieces. Anne Marie and Allison Dilling and Christy Welch, and great-great niece Madison Welch.
A brother, sister. niece and nephew are deceased.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Chellberg officiating.
Burial was in I.O.O. F Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be given to the Faith Lutheran Church or the donor's favorite charity.
Wilbur 'Webb' Ade
Feb. 10,1913 to May 15, 1992
Wilbur C. "Webb" Ade, 79, R.2, Brookston, died Friday, May 15, in the emergency room in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He was born Feb. 10,1913, in Tippecanoe County, to Gottlobe F. and Marie Wien Ade.
He was a farmer and attended Brookston schools. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Otterbein and White Co. Farm Bureau.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs Edna Welch, Delphi; Mrs Lorene Chancellor,Lafayette and Miss Lillian Ade and Miss Alberta Ade, both of R.2, Brookston.
Services were Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor David Doane officiating.
Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Bernard L. Alexander
September 1, 1924 - March 8, 2001
Bernard L. Alexander, 76, a former Brookston resident, died Thursday, March 8 at 8:05 p.m. at Rosewalk Village, Lafayette.
He was born Sept. 1, 1924, to William and Hazel Myers Alexander, in Goodland. He was married Feb. 18, l950, to Joan Agnes Lowry in Kentland. She died March 6, 1987.
He graduated 1943 from Remington High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy from May 9, 1944 until May 4,1946. He was a fireman first class and served in the Asiatic Pacific.
He retired from Ross Gear in 1985.
He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette.
He was a member of Chalmers American Legion Post 268.
He had lived in Brookston. In December of 1997, he moved to Tippecanoe Villa and then moved to Rosewalk Village in January 2000.
He is survived by daughters, Nancy (Terrence) Goodman, Lafayette; Donna (Terry) Gaylord and Cathy (Mark) Skidmore, both of West Lafayette and Diane (Todd) Smith, Brookston: sisters, Bethel Nevitt, Chalmers and Rosemary McCool, Lafayette; l3 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A brother, Arthur, is deceased.
Funeral services were Monday at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor Randy Skidmore officiating.
Burial, with military rites by Chalmers American Legion Post 268, was in the IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
Frank J. Baldauf
April 22, 1930 to Feb. 12, 1995
Frank J. Baldauf, 64, of Rt. 2, Brookston, died Sunday morning, Feb. 12, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. where he had been hospitalized since Feb. 10.
He was born in Smithton, PA, on April 22, 1930. His father is Francis Baldauf. He married Mary Coffman in Lafayette in 1966, and she survives. He worked for the past 26 years at Egyptian Lacquer, Lafayette. He was a maintenance supervisor. He previously worked construction, sandblasting and as a heavy equipment operator in Pennsylvania. He moved to this area from Pittsburgh in 1967. He served 19 years in the U.S. Navy, leaving the service in 1959. He enjoyed repairing antique clocks.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Franklin J. Jr. of Lafayette; one stepdaughter. Mrs. Duane (Sue) Royer of Rt. 4. Delphi; two brothers. Ron of Pittsburgh, PA. and Don of Myrtle Beach, FL; two sisters, Alvena Sommers and Joan both of Pittsburgh, PA; one grandson, Charles D. Baldauf of Lafayete; three stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Horn Funeral Home, Delphi. Father Peter Vanderkolk officiated. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery, Brookston, with military rites by the Delphi American Legion Post No. 75.
Dennis L. Bartlett
July 8, 1948 - March 6, 2001
Dennis L. Bartlett, 52, of Brookston, died Tuesday, March 6, at 7:54 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette, where he had been a patient for two days.
He was born July 8, 1948, to Harry Bartlett Jr. and Margene V. Saltwell Bartlett, in Lafayette.
He graduated in 1966 from Frontier High School and received his bachelor's degree from Purdue in 1970. He received his master's degree in education from Purdue in 1976.
He had been a language arts teacher for 31 years at Roosevelt Middle School in Monticello. He was the department chairman and team leader in language arts. He was a member of the corporation discussion group.
He was a member of the National Council of Teachers of English; International Reading Association; National Education Association and the Indiana State Teachers Association.
He was a life member of the Purdue Alumni Association and was a John Purdue Club MVP.
Surviving are his father, of Brookston; a brother, Tommy L. (Ramona) Bartlett of Brookston; a sister, Sandra K (Eugene) Clawson, Brookston and a nephew, Jeremy Bartlett of Brookston.
His mother passed away in 1997.
Funeral services were Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Gayle Crowe officiating.
Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be given to the Dennis L. Bartlett Scholarship Fund.
Margene Bartlett
January 31, 1924 to August 16, 1997
Margene Vivian Bartlett, 73, Brookston, died Saturday, August 16, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center, Lafayette. She had been a patient there since Thursday, and had been ill for three months.
She was born January 31, 1924, to Thomas and Alvina Eggert Saltwell, in Francesville. She was married February 16, 1945, to Harry Bartlett Jr.,, in Brookston.
She graduated in 1942, from Brookston High School. She was a homemaker and a past member of Round Grove Home Ec Club.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Dennis L and Tommy L. of Brookston; a daughter, Mrs Eugene (Sandra) K. Clawson, Brookston and a grandson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 19, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with Pastor Lelan D. McReynolds officiating. Burial was at IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be given to a favorite charity.
Dorothy Jane Kutchera Baugh

Dorothy Jane Kutchera Baugh, 82, of 510 S. Davis St., Brookston, died Monday, May 29, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. in her home.
She was born Nov. 27, 1918, to John Kutchera and Emma Marsh Kutchera, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
She had lived in Brookston for the past four and one half years.
She retired in 1977 from Purdue after 16 years as a service worker. Survivors include 3 sons, John Baugh (Gail), Battle Ground, Ind. Richard Baugh (Maureen), Brookston; Michael Baugh (Kathryn), Marstons, Mills. Mass.; 2 daughters, Marilyn Martin (Bob), Lafayette; Diane Mansfield (Brad), Brookston. Also 2 sisters, Phyllis Kostohryz, Black River Falls, Wisconsin and Mary Keating, Burbank, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
An infant daughter, son, granddaughter, a great granddaughter, brother and sister are deceased.
A graveside service for family and friends will be held Thursday, June 1st at 11 a.m., at the IOOF Cemetery, Brookston. Memorials may be given to the Arthritis Foundation.
Bruce Edward Beedle
July 17, 1918 to April 6, 1990
Bruce Edward Beedle, 71, died Friday, April 6, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette, where he had been a patient since March 3.
He was born July 17, 1918, to Abram and Dolcia Cobb Beedle, in Attica. He was married Oct. 14, 1942, to Helen Jenks, in Covington. She survives. He had lived in Chalmers since November 1978, and was a graduate of Attica High School. He owned Bruce's Yester Years in Brookston for the past 14 years. He retired from Ross Gear in Lafayette, in 1978. He was employed at Harrison Steel and was an associate of Cohen Inc. in Terre Haute. He was member of the Chalmers Civic Club.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Mrs Frances Fraser, Elkhart; Mrs Nancy Turner, Brookston and Mrs Ester Walter, Mattson, Ill.; one son, G.M.C. "SW" Bruce A. of U.S. Navy, Ox nard, Calif.; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two brothers, Fred of Wilkinson and Wayne, Highland, Calif. One sister is deceased.
The funeral was Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Gene Ansell officiating. Burial was in IOOF cemetery at Brookston.
