Glen A. Griffy
Glen A. Griffy, 48, Lapel, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on December 30, 1954, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Alfred and Rose (Michalek) Griffy.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Marines and was a member of the American Legion. He was wonderful with all animals and had been a horse trainer.
He is survived by one daughter, one son, two sisters, and one brother.
Graveside services will be at the Perkinsville Cemetery
at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Wayne E. Hall
Wayne Edward Hall, 51, Lapel, passed away Sunday August 3, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on April 15, 1952, in the N. A. S. Hospital in Pensacola, Florida to William D. and Barbara (Bodenhorn) Hall.
He was a 1970 Lawrence Central High School graduate. During high school he was active in the music department and was a record holding diver and a member of the tennis and golf teams. He continued to have a great passion for golf through out the rest of his life.
He received his BS in Business from Indiana University in 1974 and he played saxophone in David Bakers Jazz Ensemble while at I. U.
Wayne had several different bands including, Dynamite Butch and Hugo Smooth and he came from a family history of music having played with his parents, brother, wife and children. He leaves a wealth of music that he has written.
He owned and operated Hall Lighting, LLC and was also involved in financial services.
Wayne grew up in the Lawrence United Methodist Church and was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel where he played woodwinds and bass guitar during services, was a member of the Ford Street Mens Quartet and taught a Junior High Sunday School class for a few years.
His memory will be cherished by his wife, Joan Elizabeth (Grubbs) Hall; two children, Adam Wayne Hall and Elizabeth Anne Hall both of Lapel; his parents, William D. and Barbara (Bodenhorn) Hall of Lawrence; a brother, Larry G. Hall of Granada Hills, CA; a "sister" Jenny (Apple) Alig of Glendale, AZ; several relatives and close friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Friends may call from 11:30 AM until the time of the service Saturday at the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel.
The family request that no flowers be sent but instead memorial contributions be made to Ford Street U. M. C., P. O. Box 626, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0626.
Mary A. Hendry
Mary A. Hendry, 95, Noblesville, passed away Wednesday March 12, 2003, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville following an extended illness.
She was born on April 29, 1907, in Perkinsville, Indiana to Coad and Kathryn (Branch) Lannes.
She was a 1925 Anderson High School graduate and had been employed for several years at Delco Remy. She married Ebert C. Hendry in 1931 and together they managed a farming operation in Hamilton county for many years before retirement to Pendleton in 1992.
Mary was an active member of the former Perkinsville United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Melinda Keezer of Pendleton; a granddaughter, Dr. Samantha (husband, Robert) Davenport of Fly Creek, NY; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Davenport, Alexander Davenport, and Amanda Davenport; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; a sister, Helen McManus; and a brother, Eugene Lannes.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Mendon Cemetery
in Pendleton with Rev. John Pflum officiating.

Kenneth E. Hersberger
Kenneth E. Hersberger, 80, passed away Wednesday January 1, 2003, at his daughter's residence in Greenfield. He was born on February 11, 1922, in Lapel, Indiana to Dale and Sharley (Stottlemyer) Hersberger. He was a 1940 Lapel High School graduate and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1989 after 29 years as a rural mail carrier in Sheridan. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sheridan, the Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625 where received his Masonic award of gold in 1996. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Murat Temple Shrine. He is survived by three children, Jeffery Hersberger of Noblesville, David Hersberger of Noblesville, and Jan (husband, John) Riley of Greenfield; five brothers and sisters, Vivian Williams of Anderson, Keith Hersberger of Anderson, Dale Hersberger of Anderson, Jean Henley of Virginia, and Harriet Spearman of Anderson; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou (Amos) Hersberger in 2002; his parents; and a sister, Virginia Dillie. Private services will be held Friday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery
with Rev. V. J. Stover officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, P. O. Box 107, Sheridan, Indiana 46069.Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
George A. Hudson
George A. Hudson, 80, Lapel, passed away Monday March 10, 2003, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville after a sudden illness.
He was born on June 2, 1922, in Anderson, Indiana to William and Cecil (Little) Hudson.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and he retired in 1986 from Firestone in Noblesville after 19 years of employment. He was a member of Lapel American Legion Post 212.
He is survived three children, Gloria (husband, Ron) Mayes of Ingalls, George (wife, Charlotte) Hudson, Jr. of Kokomo, and Gary (wife, Teresa) Hudson of Lapel; two brothers, Neal Hudson of Warington, and Billie Jo Hudson of Frankton; one sister, Grace Castor of Anderson; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, whom he married Januray 10, 1956, Barbara J. (Adams) Hudson in 1994; a daughter, Gracile Glazebrook in 1996; and two brothers.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will perform military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
L. Irene "Toots" Husted
L. Irene "Toots" Husted, 88, Lapel, passed away Friday November 21, 2003, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following an extended illness.
She was born on February 15, 1915, in Seymor, Indiana to John and Edna Bohall.
She is survived by four children, William E. "Bill" (wife, Sue) Husted of Blackford, VA, Ronald K. Husted of Lapel, Judy Wolski of Indianapolis, and Debbie Brisseden; four sisters, Ruth Tuttle of Fortville, Ann Kendrix of Fortville, Jean Cross of Greenfield, and Sarilda Hooper of Chesterfield; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death in 1983 by her husband, Edward E. "Snake" Husted.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel.

Carl Blaine Jarrett
Blaine Jarrett, 56, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday March 23, 2003, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis after a sudden illness.
He was born on October 31, 1946, in Anderson, Indiana to Leon and Letitia (McClintick) Jarrett.
He was a 1964 graduate of Lapel High School and was a U. S. Army veteran. He had been formerly employed at Wells Flowers and Gifts for 18 years and was currently employed by McNamara Florist. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, Footlite Musicals and Buck Creek Players. He had performed at many theaters in and around Indianapolis including 25 years at The Blue Bird Dinner Theater.
He is survived by his mother, Letitia Jarrett of Lapel; one sister, Sherry Bixler of Middletown; an uncle, Max (wife, Darrah Gale) Jarrett of Columbus; an aunt, Hazel McClintick of Indianapolis; several cousins; special friend of the family, Jeffery Neese of Indianapolis; and a host of other special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Jarrett.
Service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Darrell W. Jarvis
Darrell W. Jarvis, 23, Lapel, passed away Monday, December 8, 2003.
He was born on April 29, 1980, in Anderson.
While in high school at Lapel, he played on the football team that went to the semi state.
He was a member of Daybreak Community Church.
He is survived by his parents Bill and Debbie Jarvis of Lapel; six brothers and sisters, Donald (wife, Pam) Jarvis, Ronald Jarvis, Billy L. Jarvis, Jr., Barbara (husband, Kevin) Parkhurst all of Anderson, Dana M. Jarvis of Lapel, and Aaron (wife, Suzanne) Jarvis of Anderson; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Lavonne Hobbs of Lapel; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel.
