Blanche Clark, 105, died at 4:25 p.m. Wednesday (July 7, 2004) at The Heritage of Huntington, where she was a resident.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday at the Deal-Robbins and Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Rev. Marti Lundy will officiate.

Burial will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to The Heritage of Huntington.

Gayle A. Thompson

Gayle Ann Thompson, 57, Wabash, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday (July 7, 2004) at her home.

Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the McDonald Funeral Home Eddingfield Chapel, Wabash, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Father Sextus Don officiating.

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Murphy Cemetery at a later date.

Preferred memorials are to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Aid and Research Program or the Miami/Wabash County Home Hospice Program.

Thelma ‘June’ Keplinger

Thelma “June” Keplinger, 88, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday (July 8, 2004) at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, where she was a resident.

Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Sunday at the Glancy Funeral Homes-H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren. Pastor Troy Drayer will officiate.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.

Preferred memorials are the donor’s choice of charities.

Randy Karst

Randy “Geezer” Karst, 45, 1642E-200S, died at 12:35 a.m. Friday (July 9, 2004) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Calling is from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at the Deal-Robbins and Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Louise M. McCroskey

Louise M. McCroskey, 90, Fort Wayne, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday (July 8, 2004) at the Saint Anne Home in Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Salamonie Church of the Brethren, 2662W-600S, Warren, with Mel Zumbrun officiating.

Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association, c/o Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr., Huntington, IN 46750.

Richard A. Zimmer

Richard Allen Zimmer, 77, Warsaw, died at 11 p.m. Thursday (July 8, 2004) at Grace Village Retirement Center in Winona Lake.

Calling was 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw. Services were held 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Chaplain Glenn Byers officiating.

Burial was at the Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, William Black Medical Research Building, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, 650 W. 168th St., New York, NY 10032-9982; or to the Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 1196, Warsaw, IN 46581-1196.

Jacob W. Van Wyk

Jacob W. Van Wyk, 83, 205 Cecil St., died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday (July 10, 2004) at Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Deal-Robbins and Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with John M. Backes officiating.

Burial will be at the Marion VA Cemetery, Marion.

Preferred memorials are to the Bethel Assembly of God, c/o Deal-Robbins and Van Gilder Funeral Home, 338 E. Washington St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Leona M. Schermerhorn

Leona M. Schermerhorn, 92, Huntington, died at 5:32 p.m. Saturday (July 10, 2004) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Star of Hope Cemetery with Pastor Raymond Waldfogel officiating.

Bailey-Love Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda M. Riley

Wanda M. Riley, 65, Marion, died at 5:32 p.m. Thursday (July 8, 2004) at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Calling hours were 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. Services were held 11 a.m. Monday at Banquo Christian Church, 8937S-900W-35, LaFontaine, with Pastor William Babb, Pastor Doug Sharrard, and Dr. Joe Seaborn officiating.

Burial followed in Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.

Wava M. Miller

Wava Marie Miller, 81, formerly of Logan Street in Markle, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday (July 9, 2004) at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren. She had been a resident of the home for the past six years.

There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Markle Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Applegate Chapel of the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren.

Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Seminary United Methodist Church in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle IN 46770.

Karen S. Martin

Karen Sue Martin, 61, Van Buren, died Friday (July 9, 2004) at her home in Jackson Township.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Glancy Funeral Homes H. Brown and Son Chapel in Warren. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. John Wallace officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Warren.

Lois R. Knee

Lois Ruth Knee, 76, 208 W. State St., died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday (July 8, 2004) at Oakbrook Village in Huntington.

Calling is noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in North Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family.

Franklin E. Kimmel

Franklin E. Kimmel, 81, 241 E. Taylor St., died Sunday (July 11, 2004) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

There are no calling hours. The family will hold private services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary.

Entombment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes. Association.

Dorothy L. Hinen

Dorothy L. Hinen, 90, a former resident of South Whitley, died at 8 a.m. Sunday (July 11, 2004) at Miller’s Merry Manor in Columbia City, where she had been a resident since July 30, 2000.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, with calling two hours prior to services, at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, 208 N. Maple St., South Whitley. Burial will be at a later date at South Whitley Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association.
