Jim Gieselman
Jim W. Gieselman, 67, of Newburgh, passed away Wed. morning Feb. 20, 2002, at his residence in Newburgh.
He retired in 1993 as a quality control technician from Alcoa Warrick Operations. He was a member of Lynnville Masonic Lodge. He was an avid sportsman and loved bowling, fishing and watching IU basketball.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Norma (Harkness); a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim Halle of Newburgh; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Kim Gieselman of Winslow; grandchildren, Seth and Cody Gieselman and Jessie and Jamie Halle; a brother, Forrest Gieselman of Evansville; sisters, Deloris McKinney and Arlene Brammer, both of Newburgh, and Viola Floyd of Spurgeon.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Loral Gieselman and his parents, Frank and Opal Gieselman.
Services are at 10 a.m Sat. from Bradley Colonial Chapel in Boonville, with burial in the Spurgeon Cemetery
in Spurgeon, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bradley Colonial Chapel in Boonville and from 8 a.m. to service time Sat. at the Funeral home.

Lawrence Hall
Lawrence Hall, 89, of Newburgh, died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at his home.
He was born September 11, 1912.
Lawrence was a World War II veteran, serving in Belgium and Germany; the Battle of the Bulge and the Remagen Bridge. He was a self-employed contractor. He worked in the Evansville Shipyards building LSTs.
He was a regular supporter of the Trinity Broadcasting Network. He also coached a State Champion Fast Pitch Softball Team in Baskett, Kentucky. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He raised Mountain Cur dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Katie Hall; 2 sisters, Mary Clark and Frances Snodgrass; 4 brothers, Parvin, Douglas, Albert and Clyde. Memorial tributes may be made online at www.mem.com
Survivors are daughters, Sharon Pruden of Newburgh and Marlene Chamberlin of Branson, Mo.; a son, Lawrence K. Hall Jr. of Boonville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Yolanda Stevens of Chandler, Roxanna Edwards and Kimberly Morris, both of Boonville, Ind., Angel Bush of Newburgh, Marcy Roberts of Branson, Mo., Kendra Custer of Phoenix, Ariz., Melissa Hankins of Kirksville, Mo., Christopher Hall of Nashville, Tenn., and John and Jeff Chamberlin, both of Branson, Mo.; 12 great-grandchild-ren; 2 stepgreat-grandchildren; 2 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services Saturday 10 a.m. February 23, 2002, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, Reverend Alton Davis officiating, burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery
in Evansville.
Visitation today, February 22, 2002, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.

Richard James
Richard W. James, 57, of Evansville, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at his home.
He had a career in broadcasting and was and agent for Monumental Insurance in Evansville.
Surviving are a son, Aaron R.; his mother, Helen E. James; his father, Kenneth W.; two sisters, Susanna James and Joanna Cundiff; and two brothers, Jonathan and David.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Ind., burial in Roselawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Mary Kissel
Mary Lou (Albrecht) Kissel, 60, of Evansville, died at 5:38 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Mary Lou was born September 1, 1941, the daughter of Mildred and Andrew Albrecht Sr. She attended Stephen's College and graduated from the University of Evansville. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a lifelong member of Zion United Church of Christ.
Mary Lou worked for many years at AAA Automobile Club of Southern Indiana, which was founded by her family. Her father and brother had served as president of the club.

Survivors are her husband of 30 years, Gerald Kissel of Evansville; a daughter, Lauren Kissel of Evansville; a niece, Jennifer Webster; nephew, Andrew Albrecht III; and her sister-in-law, Cynthia Wyatt of Evansville.
Services Monday 11 a.m. February 25, 2002, at Alexander East Chapel, Reverend Daniel R. Durell officiating, entombment at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation Sunday February 24, 2002, from noon to 7 p.m. and Monday, February 25, from 9 a.m. to service time at Alexander East Chapel.

Gertrude Kuester
Gertrude Kuester, 82, of Evansville, died Thursday, February 21, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital.
Mrs. Kuester was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Altar Society at the church and the River Bend Association.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar Kuester; two daughters, Shirley McDowell of Evansville and Mary Bracey of Statham, Georgia; a brother, Felix Eakins of Evansville; four grandchildren, Kay Burgess of Apex, N.C., Lynn Stroud of Evansville and Ben and Luke Wanager of Statham, Ga.; and three great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Rev. David Nunning officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at Pierre Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Mary Malaney
Mary Ellen Malaney 75, of Evansville, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at her home from cancer. She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, where she also quilted with the ladies there. She was a member of St. Mary's Hospital Foundation. She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Monica. She bowled in leagues at Arc Lanes.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Malaney of Evansville; 5 daughters, Mary Beth Hurst of Columbus, Ind., Peggy Glaser of Memphis, Tenn., Barbara Malaney of Evansville, Kitty Temming of Davenport, Iowa, and Jeanne Traxler of Dallas, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Christy Cotton, Patrick Glaser, Sarah Glaser, Katie Hurst, Molly Temming, Megan Temming, Mary Traxler, and John Traxler; and 3 great-grandchildren. Her son, John Malaney Jr., preceded her in death in 1973.
Services will be on Saturday, February 23, at 9:30 a.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel and continued at 10 a.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Friday, February 22, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Robert Martin
Robert R. "Bob" Martin, 75, of Evansville, died 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital.
Mr. Martin worked for Servel Inc. for 24 years. Late in the 1950s he worked for Johann Funeral Home as an emergency ambulance driver and retired in 1982 after 20 years from Bucyrus-Erie as a test operator. He was also an Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Bob was a member of the Lessing Masonic Lodge 464, Scottish Rite and Hadi Shrine Temple and he attended Cornerstone Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ina (Pickett) Martin; a daughter, Connie Martin of Evansville; and a son, Robert V. Martin of Evansville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, February 22, 2002, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with Reverend Rod Murray officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

Patricia McNabb
Patricia Ruth McNabb, 74, of Evansville, died at 6:32 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2002, at Good Samaritan Home.
She was born November 16, 1927. Patricia received a bachelor's degree in education and foreign languages from Indiana State University. She retired as a social worker in San Diego, California. She enjoyed photography. She practiced Tai-Chi and was interested in music and art. Memorial tributes may be made online at www.mem.com
Survivors are a sister, Ellen Cox of Evansville; a nephew, Eric Cox of Evansville, nieces, Jill Linck of Pueblo, Colo., and Cindy Donnoe of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; and nephew, Jay Davenport of Indianapolis.
Private services will be at a later date. There will be no visitation at Alexander West Chapel.

Louis Mitchell
Louis T. Mitchell, 72, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2002 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
He retired in 1988 as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was a member of the VFW Post #1114 and the AARP. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Occupation Medal in Germany and a Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Beth Wolf and Jill Mitchell, both of Evansville; 4 sons, Brian and Jack, both of Evansville, and Bruce and Jay, both of Newburgh; a brother, Henry Mitchell, Jr. of Washington, Ind.; a sister, Elise O'Bryan of Evansville; and 9 grandchildren, Lauren, Douglas, Grace, Jacob, Josiah, and Kial Mitchell; Christy, Mitchell, and Justin Wolf. His wife Peggy A. Mitchell, preceded him in death on August 29, 1998.
Services will be on Saturday, February 23, at 8:30 a.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel and continued at 9 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with Fr. Henry Kuykendall officiating. Visitation will be on today, February 22, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, where the Retired Veterans will conduct graveside services.
