John Larty Jr.
MOUNT VERNON - John Edmond Larty Jr., 48, of Warsaw formerly of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at his home. He took his own life.
He was a sales representative and member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church.
He was a 1971 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and earned his master's degree in business administration from Indiana University.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; a daughter, Sarah Larty at home; a son, Andrew at home; two sisters, Jeanette Leibman of Granite Bay, Calif., and Liz Uhde of Evansville; a brother, Jim of Mount Vernon; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Warsaw, with burial in St. Anne's Columbarium there.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church in Mount Vernon.
Harold Sanders
BUCKSKIN - Harold E. Sanders Jr., 65, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of heart failure.
He had been a foreman at Ball Plastics and had worked as an over-the-road truck driver.
He was a
Korean War Marine veteran and member of the Buckskin St. John's United Church of Christ.
Surviving are two daughters, Michelle Bippus and Tricia Sanders, both of Evansville; a son, Mark of Oakland City; a sister, Betty Anderson of Buckskin; and three grandchildren, Joshua and Macenzie Sanders and Tyler Bippus.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with burial in St. John's Cemetery
in Buckskin.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse.
Lillian Thrasher
CHRISNEY - Lillian A. Thrasher, 95, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at the home of her daughter Ruth Jones in Loves Park, Ill.
She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Rebecca Rush and Richard Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, in 1951, and a daughter, Mary Lou Rowley, in 1971.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Oak Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation at Youngblood Funeral Home.

Marion Klipsch
PETERSBURG - Marion R. Klipsch, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Amber Manor Nursing Home.
He retired as president and CEO of Citizens State Bank, was a World War II veteran and member of First United Methodist Church, Pike County Fair board, Indiana Bankers Association, American and Independent Bankers Association, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Hadi Temple in Evansville, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his wife, Martha (Kessner); a daughter, Marcia Nordhorn of Vincennes; a son, David of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. His first wife, Beatrice OPeteO (Dorf), died in 1971.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Saturday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Walnut Hills Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Harris Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America or a favorite charity.
Robert Sexton
LOOGOOTEE - Robert E. OBobO Sexton, 67, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington of a heart attack.
He retired in 1999 as a boiler operator at the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center.
He was an Army veteran and member of Loogootee United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara (Beam); a daughter, Adella Sexton of Jasonville, Ind.; two sons, James Vernon of Jacksonville, Fla., and Martin Sexton of Loogootee; a brother, James Oberting of Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Dwayne, preceded him in death.
Arrangements are pending with Brocksmith Funeral Home.
Bertha Mosby
OTWELL - Bertha R. Mosby, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Northwood Good Samaritan Home in Jasper.
She retired from the dietary department at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
Surviving are two daughters, Karen Brown of Velpen and Erma Luker of Otwell; a son, Raymond of Jasper; three sisters, Lynette Wiseman of Otwell, Dorothy St. Onge of Vincennes and Betty Jo Bowman of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R., in 1975, and a son, Robert.
Services will be at 1 p.m. EST at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in McClure Cemetery
in Algiers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Frances Davidson
Frances C. Davidson, 95, of Evansville, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Cen ter.
She was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral. She was very active for 30 years in the Legion of Mary at St. Benedict's, where she held various offices including past president. She was also a member of St. Benedict Altar Society. She retired in 1936 from L&N Railroad.
She is survived by 2 sons, Fr. John Davidson, and son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Jane Davidson, all of Evansville; daughter and son-in-law, Lucinda and Bernie Blessinger of Killingworth, Conn.; 4 grandchildren, Amy and Todd Blessinger and Robby and Kate Rose Davidson. Her husband, J. William Davidson, preceded her in death on August 15, 1985.
Services will be on Monday, February 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel and continued at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Cathedral, with Fr. John Davidson officiating and concelebrating with Bishop Gerald A. Gettelfinger and the Priests of the Diocese. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 24, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Benedict Cathedral or St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Claude DeVillez
Claude J. DeVillez, 78, of Largo, Fla., died at 3:42 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2002, at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo.
Claude was born December 24, 1923, in Evansville, and lived here until he moved to Largo, Florida, in 1979. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Church in Evansville and attended Oakhurst United Methodist Church in Seminole, Florida. He graduated from F.J. Reitz High School.
Claude was a retired electrician for Whirlpool Corporation of Evansville. He was a member of the American Legion Post 273 in Madeira Beach, Florida, and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Survivors are his wife of 28 years, Nada S. (Alexander) De-Villez of Largo; a brother, Donald DeVillez of Dover, Tenn.; sisters, Rosetta Devers and Doris Jean Hart, both of Evansville, and Bernadette Burgess of Hemet, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.
Services Monday 10:30 a.m. February 25, 2002, at Alexander West Chapel, Reverend Mark Brewer officiating, entombment in Alexander Memorial Park.
Visitation Sunday, February 24, 2002, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Mamie Faver
Mamie A. Faver, 82, of Evansville, died at 3 a.m.Thursday, February 21, 2002, at Columbia Health Care Facility.
She was born September 24, 1919.
Mamie was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking long walks. She loved her family and had a special bond with her grandchildren, making crafts and playing games with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David O. Faver, in November 1980, and a son, David L. Faver, in February of 1978.
Survivors are a son, James A. Faver of Evansville; daughters, Elaine Isonhood of Cadiz, Ky., Jean A. Moore of Elberfeld, Ind., and Joan S. Spalding of Evansville; a brother, Robert J. LeRoy of Nashville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchild-ren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services Saturday 10 a.m. February 23, 2002, at Alexander West Chapel, Father Ted Tempel officiating, burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation today, February 22, 2002, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel.
