Thomas R. Bruemleve, 73, Huntington, died at 10:26 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 16, 2003) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Cameron Douglas will officiate.

Interment will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bruce R. Bruemleve Memorial Scholarship Fund or to Cancer Services of Huntington County, both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington IN 46750.

Virginia A. Finley

Virginia A. “Ginny” Finley, 79, Huntington, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday (Aug. 18, 2003) at her home following an extended illness.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Russell Buzzard officiating. Interment will be at Grant Memorial Park, Marion.

Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice or to the donor’s choice of charities, in care of the Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Gwendolyn Holmes

Gwendolyn Holmes, 85, Leesburg, Fla., died Monday (Aug. 18, 2003) at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Kathie Jones officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice or organization of the donor’s choice.

The Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren, is in charge of arrangements.

Robert L. Zent

Robert Lee Zent, 50, 131 Parkway, Warren, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 20, 2003) at Markle Health Care.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. EDT Friday, with calling two hours prior to services, at the Harter & Son Funeral Home, 209 W. 3rd St., Delphos, Ohio. Rev. Joe Sumwalt will officiate.

Burial will be at Venedocia Cemetery, Venedocia, Ohio.

Preferred memorials are to the Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana, 265 W. Water St., Berne, IN 46711; or to Markle Health Care, 170 N. Tracey St., Markle, IN 46770.

Ruth Henline Prough

Former Huntington City Council and City Board of Zoning Appeals member Ruth E. Henline Prough, 78, of Huntington, died at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 19, 2003) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Prough was a member of Huntington City Council from 1980-84 and a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals from 1984-88.

Mrs. Prough was secretary and treasurer of Henline Inc. for 57 years. She was a member of the St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ and the Morning Glory circle at the church. She was past president of Sigma Beta Sorority and past president of the Chief LaFontaine Saddle Club. She was a member of the Huntington Hospital Auxiliary.

She was one of the Blimp & Blimp Clowns in the 1960s. She was a 1942 graduate of East Union High School, Wells County.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1924, in Huntington County, to Ervin Ellet and Lucille Draper Ellet. On Feb. 14, 1946, in Huntington, she married Harley M Henline, who died on April 24, 1980. Her second marriage was on Jan. 14, 1984, to Loyd Prough. He died on May 16, 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Donald D. Henline and Harley “Sonny” Henline II, both of Huntington; two brothers, Ray Ellet, Markle, and Paul Ellet, Albion; two stepsisters, Mrs. Tom (Barb) Richardson, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Ed (Betty) Runion, Markle; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, Max Ellet.

Calling will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Ray Scribner officiating.

Burial will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington.

Preferred memorials are to St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Billie W. Norris

Billie W. Norris, 76, North Port, Fla., died July 16, 2003.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke, with military services by Roanoke American Legion Post 160.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota FL 34238.

Roanoke Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Terrence E. Kinley

Terrence Emerson “Terry” Kinley, 60, Huntington, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 20, 2003) at his home.

Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the McClain Funeral Home, 3500W Ind.-16, Denver, Ind., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Bill Babb will officiate.

military graveside rites will be conducted at the Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.

Ladarus J.E. Vendrick

Ladarus J.E. Vendrick, 86, rural Huntington, died at 1:18 p.m. Friday (Aug. 22,2003) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Robert Hanson officiating.

Interment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.

Preferred memorial contributions are to the American Heart Association, in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

David D. VanVliet

David D. VanVliet, 59, of Poneto, died Friday (Aug. 22, 2003) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Bluffton.

Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 1-2 p.m. Monday at the Glancy Funeral Homes - H. Brown & Son Chapel, Warren, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.

Marvin V. Ridgeway

Marvin Vernon Ridgeway, 86, Wabash, died at 11:20 p.m. Friday (Aug. 22, 2003) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Home, Manchester Avenue Chapel, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Don Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.

Preferred memorials are to the Wabash County 4-H Building Association.

Brian J. Forrester

Brian J. Forrester, 38, Bryan, Ohio, died Sunday (Aug. 24, 2003) at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. EDT (1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Huntington time) Tuesday at the Rice-Burr Funeral Home, 225 E. High St., Bryan, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. EDT Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Kelley officiating.

Preferred memorials are to the Family of Brian J. Forrester, in care of the Rice-Burr Funeral Home, 225 E. High St., Bryan, OH 43506.

William J. Bixler

William Junior Bixler, 82, Pierceton, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 23, 2003) at Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Ralph Burns will officiate.

Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Farah Slagel

Farah Slagel, 80, 739 Hitzfield St., died at 3 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2003) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne.

Arrangements are pending at the Deal-Robbins and Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.
