Kevin Kent Dunlap, age 48, 5465 S 475 W, 802 South State Street, South Whitley, IN 46787 died at 2:35 p.m. on Saturday June 22, 2002 at the Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, IN where he had been take after being involved in a motorcylce accident.
He was born on September 15, 1953 in Columbia City, IN to Donald Hubert and Deliah Jane (Gaff) Dunlap. He graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1971. He was married a brief time to Stacy Collier Egner from July 2, 1976 to January 1978. He was employed with Essex Wire and Cable as a warehouse employee since 1976.
He was a member of ABATE Motorcycle Organization for the past 16 years and always helped with the Whitley County Christmas Bureau. He has attended the National Morotcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD for 2 years. He is also a member of the Columbia City Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge #1906.
He is survived by his mother Deliah Jane (Junior) Studebaker, Columbia City, IN, a sister, Lee Ann Dunlap, Columbia City, 2 uncles Ernest (Emma) Gaff, Columbia City, IN, and Walter(Joan) Gaff, Herington, KS. 2 Step-Brothers, Dick (Barb) Studebaker and Bob (Janice) Studebaker both of Columbia City, IN and 2 Step-Sisters Judy (Dan) Coyle and Dianne (Larry) Shrock also of Columbia City, IN and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Dunlap, grandparents Clayton and Eldee Gaff and Ernest & Goldie Dunlap. 2 Uncles Hugh and Phil Gaff, and cousins Randall, Stephen, and Lester Gaff.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2002 from 2-8 PM at the DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Fuenral Home in Columbia City, IN. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at 10:30 AM at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City, IN with Pastor Carrol McNutt officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove (Compton) Cemetery
on Raber Road in Columbia City. Memorials may be given in Mr. Dunlap's memory to ABATE, MDA, or the Whiltey County Christmas Bureau. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Charmaine Lynn Bouck, age 41, of 245 EMS R-4 Lane, Pierceton, IN, died at 5:41 a.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2002 at the Kosciusko Community Hospital emergency room, Warsaw, IN. She was born on July 7, 1960 to Bobby and Frances Joy (Haynes) Smith in Phoenix, AZ.
She graduated with the Class of 1978 from Artesia High School, Artesia, NM. Residing in Carlsbad and Farmington, NM until 1989, she then moved to Columbia City, IN. She married Thomas W. Bouck on July 14, 1993 in Pierceton, IN. Her places of employment included Viking, Columbia City, IN, and she was an independent wellness consultant for Nikken, Inc.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Ward Bouck, 245 EMS R-4 Lane, Pierceton, IN 46562 (574-594-2208); two sons, Chad Welton Braswell, McAllen, TX and Jonathan Michael North, Columbia City, IN; her parents, Bobby and Frances Joy Smith of Carlsbad, NM; a step-daughter, Tammy Renee Richman of Concrete, WA; four step-sons, Thomas Bouck, Jr. of Pierceton, IN, Todd Anthony Bouck of Syracuse, IN, Troy David Bouck of North Webster, IN, Travis James Bouck of Elkhart, IN; four brothers, Billy Gene Smith of Carlsbad, NM, Jackie Joe Smith of Las Cruces, NM, Patrick Mark Hughie of Warsaw, IN, Michael Thomas Hughie of Artesia, NM, Craig Alan Hughie of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Terri Ruth Lunsford, Fort Worth, TX.
Harry Cliffton Haynes, a grandfather, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 5, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Cummings, from Community Bible Church, officiating. H. Errol Schuman, age 83, of 612 West Market Street, Columbia City, IN 46725 died at 10:07 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2002 at the Parkview Whitley Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia City, IN.
He was born on September 9, 1918 to Henry L. and Flossie E. (Harris) Schuman in Richland Township, Whitley County, IN. Except for his stints in the military, he has always lived in Whitley County. He graduated from Larwill High School with the Class of 1936. He served as a Master Sgt. with the United States Army during WW II from 1944-1946 and during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1951. During his military service, Mr. Schuman developed his love of bowling while bowling outside in a tent.
He married Ailsa L. "Billie" Goodrich on January 1, 1938. They divorced in 1974.
He was first employed by Weatherhead, the Pennsylvania Railroad Parcel Delivery, he also owned E. Schuman & Son Excavating with his son, DeVon, and was a co-owner of Mudslide Ceramics in Columbia City, IN. Mr. Schuman was the owner of Schuman Bowling Alley from 1949-1988 which he constructed, owned, operated and later developed a miniature golf course and a drive-in restaurant near the bowling alley. He was a life time member of the Eagles Lodge #1906 for over 55 years, Elks Lodge, and the Moose Lodge all of Columbia City. He was also a member of American Legion Post 98, and the National American Bowling Hall of Fame and a former charter member of Columbia City Kiwanis Club. On May 15, 1996 he was inducted into the Fort Wayne Bowling Hall of Fame. He helped establish the Junior Bowling Leagues in Columbia City and Fort Wayne, IN
He is survived by a daughter Carol (LeRoy) Krider, Columbia City, IN and a son E. DeVon (Millicent) Schuman, Columbia City, IN, 2 brothers Melvin (Lucy) Schuman, South MIlford, IN and Hal (Louise) Schuman, Avilla, IN, his former wife Ailsa L "Billie" Schuman, Columbia City, IN, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and his longtime companion of 22 years, Charlene D. Geneva, Columbia City, IN and her daughter Kristian R. Geneva, Fort Wayne, IN.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2002 from 2-5 & 6-8 PM and one hour before the service at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at 10:30 AM with Reverend Ronnie Sams, First Christian Church, Warsaw, officiating. Kathryn M. Gumm, age 87, of 2827 Northgate Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46835 died at 7:38 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2003 at the Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on April 30, 1916 to David and Catherine (Klotz) Lamle.
She was reared and lived in Lake Twp., Allen County, IN where she attended the Arcola Schools. She then moved to Jefferson Twp., Whitley County, IN on SR 14. In 1947 she moved into Columbia City. In 1968 she moved to Tri Lakes while spending her winters in Florida. In 1983 she moved to Fort Wayne, IN and spent her remaining years in Fort Wayne. She was a homemaker and a member of Harvester Avenue Missionary Church, Fort Wayne, IN.
She first married Charles Nicholas Felger on December 15, 1935 at the David Lamle home in Lake Twp., Allen County. Mr. Felger passed away on September 5, 1946 as a result of an accidental drowning. On July 9, 1949 she was married to Thurman Paul Gumm at the Grace Lutheran Church Parsonage in Columbia City, IN. Mr. Gumm passed away on April 29, 1983.
She is survived by 3 sons, Donald E. (Bev) Felger of Fort Wayne, IN; Thomas E. (Bonnie) Felger of Fort Wayne, IN and Ned (Rubyann) Felger of Leo, IN; 1 daughter, Mrs. Jim (Joan) Binkley of Fort Wayne, IN; 1 step daughter-in-law, Martha Gumm of Crothersville, IN and 1 step daughter, J.B. (Bonnie) Riley of Litchfield, KY; 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and 1 brother, Eugene "Ike" Lamle of Churubusco, IN.
She in preceded in death by her parents and her 2 husbands, 1 son, Glenn A. Fleger, on April 29, 1960, 1 step son, Paul Gumm and several sisters and brothers.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2003 and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2003 both at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2003 at the funeral home with 2 grandsons officiating, Pastor David Binkley of the Harvester Avenue Missionary Church and Pastor Dan Binkley of North Manchester, IN. Ruby H. Timmons, age 95, of Columbia City, IN died at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at the Oaks Living Care Center, Columbia City. She was born on July 3, 1908 to Edwin and Eve (Gross) Vance. She received her education in the public schools of Washington Township, Whitley County and Columbia City High Schools.
She was married to Donneal J Groesbeck who died on September 11, 1956. Her second marriage was to Jack Watts and he preceeded her in death. Her third marriage was to Owen Foster Timmons and he also preceded her in death on September, 1985. As a new high school graduate, Mrs. Timmons moved to Toledo, OH. She has resided in Springfield, OH, Fort Wayne, IN and Columbia City. Because of her failing health In February, 1995, she moved to The Oaks Living Center, Columbia City. A homemaker, she was employed by the former Farris Nursing Home and several Columbia City restaurants as a chef and waitress before her retirement.
She is survived by 2 nephews, John E. (Sherry) Vance and Mike E. (Charlotte) Vance both of Fort Wayne; 2 nieces, Cheryll (Dan) Price of Tuscon, AZ and Jill Blaugh of Fort Wayne, IN; 1 step daughter, Jeanette (Donald) Sullivan of Columbia City; 3 step grandchildren and several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2003 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Curtiss Johnson, retired minister of Community Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Timmons to the donor's choice.
Gertrude B. Maggert, age 67, of 400 South Oak Street, #5, Columbia City, IN 46725 died at 9 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2003 at Renaissance Village, rural Whitley County. She was born in Jefferson Township, Whitley County, IN on August 16, 1936 to William and Helen (Oliver) Buntain.
She graduated with the Class of 1954 from Larwill High School, Larwill, IN. She married Benjamin Franklin Maggert on September 1, 1962 in Columbia City, IN. From 1995-2003, she was employed by Reelcraft Industries, Columbia City. She was a member of the Columbia City American Legion Auxiliary Post #98. She has resided in Whitley County her entire life.
Survivors include 2 sons, Robert Eugene (Jeannie) Monroe and Raymond Keithley Monroe both of Fort Wayne, IN; 2 daughters, Linda Marie (Russell) Campbell of Fort Wayne and Helen Doreen (Cliff) Hahn of Columbus, OH; a long-time companion, Ned Simmons of Columbia CIty, IN and his 5 children; 5 sisters, Doris Todd and Vera (Karen) Clark both of Warsaw, IN, Ardith Rager of Arkon, IN, Louise (Phil) Dacey of Columbus, OH, Alice Brumfield of Claypool, IN; a brother, Wendall (Helen)
Buntain of Las Cruces, New Mexico; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Her husband and his parents preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2003 with Mr. Gerald Bills officiating. An American Legion Auxiliary Post #98 memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be at Troy Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Columbia City. Carrie Magdelena King, age 83, of 5935 East 1000 S-92, Roanoke, IN 46782 died at 1:15 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2003 at the Miller's Merry Manor, Inc., Columbia City, IN where she had been admitted this past week. She was born and resided her entire lifetime in Jefferson Township, Whitley County, IN on November 7, 1920 to Jacob S. and Sophia R. (Bohrer) Hinen.
She attended Jefferson Township schools. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and it's Rosary Sodality, Roanoke, IN. She married Larry L. King on June 24, 1960 in Roanoke, IN. She was part owner of King's Repair in Roanoke as well as a housewife.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry L. King who died on May 2, 1995, 3 sisters, Helen Hinen, Elizabeth Redman, Alma Fisher and 7 brothers, Lawrence, Edmund, Andrew, Paul, Clarence, Earl and Lester Hinen.

The Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2003. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Roanoke, IN with Father Kenneth Sarazine of the church officiating. Ralph T. Watson, age 88, of 380 North Walnut Street, Columbia City, IN 46725 died at 7:34 p.m. Thursday, November 27, 2003 at the Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, IN.
He was born on March 26, 1915 in Jefferson Township, rural Columbia City, Whitley County, IN to Jacob "Burt" and Alma (Schoenauer) Watson. Mr. Watson lived his entire lifetime in Whitley County and for the past 55 years at his present home on Walnut Street. He graduated from Jefferson Center High School with the Class of 1933. He married Mary Amelia McCoy on June 12, 1937 in Jefferson Township, Whitley County, IN. He retired in October of 1979 from Dana Weatherhead, Columbia City, IN as a 2nd shift superintendent.
Survivors include one son, Steve (Carol) Watson, Bozrah, CT; 2 sisters, Donna Baskin, Clemmons, NC and Pauline Horn, of Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Amelia Watson who died in March of 1979, 1 brother, Glen Watson and 1 sister, Vera Schrock.
Visitation will be held from 2-5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. A celebration of life gathering will follow immediately at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, which will be given by his son and Mr. Watson's family and friends. A funeral luncheon will follow in the community room of DeMoney-Grimes. Glenn Alvin "Moe" Slusser, age 65, of 213 West Jefferson Street, Albion, IN 46701 died at 1:35 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at his daughter's home east of Albion, IN. He was born in Huntington, IN on May 18, 1938 to Carl K. and Nina J. (Erickson) Slusser.
He graduated from Huntington High School with the Class of 1957. He entered the United States Air Force on August 6, 1957 and served as an A2C E-3 (P), being discharged on September 22, 1961. He moved to Laud, Whitley County, IN in 1969 and in 1997 he moved to Albion. He retired from PTG-Echlin, Columbia CIty, IN after 39 years as a foreman/supervisor. He is a member of the Albion American Legion, Post #246, Albion Eagles Lodge #2455 and the Moose Lodge #1063 of Columbia City, IN.
He is survived by 1 son, Mark Allen (Laura) Slusser of 3733 West Noble Street, Wolf Lake, IN; 2 daughters, Trina Renee (Tim) Hewitt, Oak Street, Kendallville, IN and Regina Mae (Chad) Willett of Albion, IN; 2 brothers, Robert E. and Jack S. Slusser both of Huntington, IN; 4 sisters, Melba Duffman of Findley, OH, Erica "Sis" Shipbaugh, Loretta Irene "Lori" Nave and Cleo Pauline "Polly" Jones all of Huntington, IN; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Rebecca N. "Becky" Ousley.

Paul J. Mossburg, age 83, of 244 South Lawrence Street, Westgate Addition, Columbia City, IN 46725 died at 3:50 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2002 at the Parkview Whitley Hospital Emergency Room, Columbia City, IN from results of a two car accident early Monday afternoon on US 30.
He was born on May 9,1919 in Grant County, IN to Delmer O. Mossburg and Mary Lou (Hazel) Robbins.
He graduated from Coesse High School with the Class of 1937. He married Jean Marie Walker on May 6, 1939 in Coesse, IN. He served with the United States Navy during WWII from March 10, 1944 to December 10, 1945. His membership includes the Columbia City United Methodist Church.
He worked most of his lifetime as a self-employed general contractor; however, in 1981 he retired after 17 years of service with Wickes Lumber Company, Fort Wayne, IN where he called on and estimated for contractors. In the 1950's, he worked at the Weatherhead Company, Columbia City, IN for a few years. His hobby was building and designing things and later in his life he became an avid landscape artist.
He is survived by his wife, Jean M. Mossburg,onee son, Steven J. (Shirley) Mossburg,Columbia City, IN; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Judy K.) Altimus, Columbia City, IN and Mrs. Bruce (Kathie D.) Lash,Columbia City, IN; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn (Eugene) Cook, Columbia City, IN and one sister-in-law, Treva Mossburg, Columbia City, IN. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Mossburg.
