Sandra C. Jersey, 48, of 7910 W 800 S, Cleveland Township, South Whitley, IN 46787 died at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. She became suddenly ill on Thursday and was admitted to Parkview Whitley Hospital and later transferred to Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on November 27, 1954 in Lagrange, GA to Lewis Langford and Annie Lindsey.
She was raised in Georgia and as a young adult, her family moved to Florida for about 10 years and then moved to South Whitley in 1990. She attended Troup High School in Georgia.
She married Anthony M. Jersey on June 25, 1979 in Monticello, FL. She cleaned numerous homes in the Whitley and Allen County areas. She was a member of Lighthouse Church, Columbia City, IN.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony M. Jersey of South Whitley, IN; 5 daughters, Cindy (Jimmy) Duncan, West Point, GA, Jennifer (Nick) Sanders, Warsaw, IN, Renee, Rebecca and Veronica Jersey all at home; her mother, Annie Langford, Lagrange, GA, 1 grandson, Michael Duncan, West Point, GA; 2 brothers, Michael Langford, Lagrange, GA and Wayne (Debra) Langford, Phoenix City, Alabama and 1 sister, Linda (Howard) Carver, Lagrange, GA.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003 at the funeral home with Pastor Brad Baber of the Lighthouse Church, Columbia City, IN officiating. Burial will be at the South Whitley Cemetery, SR 14, South Whitley, IN. Memorial donations may be given in Mrs. Jersey's memory to the donor's choice.
John Paunovich, age 74, of Columbia City, IN died at 2:25 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2003 at Renaissance Village, rural Whitley County. Born on December 24, 1928, in Iselin, PA, he was the son of Matthew and Margaret (Spilok) Paunovich.
He attended Bell Township School and a 4 year course of Skill Trade Welders. He married Thresa M. Vodzak on May 3, 1952 in East Vandergrift, PA . He was raised in Iselin, PA moving to Columbia City, IN in 1960. Employed by Inernational Harvester as a skill trade welder, he retired in 1990 with 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, Columbia City, and he enjoyed gardening, bowling and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Thresa of Columbia City; 4 daughters, Cynthia (Fred) Sharkey of Etna Green, IN, Lois (Robert) Odgen and Patricia Trumbull both of Columbia City, and Stacey Paunovich of Fort Wayne, IN; a son, Kevin (Kim) Paunovich; a brother, Joseph (Martha) Paunovich of Mount Pleasant, PA; 4 granchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Dominic Paunovich.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 29, 2003 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Joe Zickgraf officiating. Visitation after 9:30 a.m. at the church with the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30th, at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church with Father Dale Bauman officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice, the American Diabetes. Marjorie E. King, age 83, 2058 E. Wilcken Road, Columbia City, IN, died on Wednesday May 08, 2002 at 3:57 a.m. at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on March 5, 1919, to Dana F. and Audrey (Darby) Hunt in Converse, Howard County, IN.
She graduated from Fairmount High School with the Class of 1937. She was married to Willard Rex King who passed away in 1997. Mrs. King was previously employed in a pro-golf shop, a homemaker and a seamstress. She has resided in Converse, Fort Wayne, and Alexandria, IN. In 1973 she moved to Lakeland, FL, and she moved to Columbia City in 2001. Her church membership was with Crystal Lake United Methodist Church, Lakeland, FL.
Surviving are three sons, James Allen King, Las Vegas, NV, Larry Rex King, Columbia City, IN, and Jerry Lee King, Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Velma (Gene) Reust, Huntington, IN.
Her parents, husband, one brother, Barney Hunt, and one grandson, Greg, preceded her in death.
Both visitation and the funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Drive, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Pastor John Cummings, Community Bible Church, Columbia City, will be officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Lakeland Memorial Gardens, Lakeland, FL. Memorial bequests are to the American Diabetes. Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Kathryn Marie Evans, stillborn infant, died at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday May 18, 2002 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Allen Co., IN. She was born on May 18, 2002 to Robert J. and Shannon Marie(Mills) Evans.
Survivors include her parents, two brothers, Maddison M. and Cameron J. Evans; Grandparents, Rick and Tammy Mills, Larwill, IN and Robert and Barbara Evans, Columbia City, IN. Great-Grandparents are LaVan and Barb Mills, Montpelier, IN and Frank Rice, Sr., Upland, IN.

Gladys Pauline "Polly" Honeick, age 81, of 904 Blue River Drive, Columbia City, IN 46725 died at 9:58 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2002 at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. She had been in failing health for the past few months.
She was born on July 27, 1920 to Ray H. and Amanda Marie (Thomas) Kohart. As a child she lived in several locations, however, from 1935 to 1962 she resided in Fort Wayne, IN and has resided in Columbia City, IN since 1962. She attended South Side High School, Fort Wayne, IN.
She worked at Woolworth's Department Store in Fort Wayne, IN for 4 years and then about 2 years at General Electric, Fort Wayne, however, during her married lifetime she was a homemaker and was well known in the area as a seamstress working out of her home. She married Jack Russell Honeick in Angola, IN on October 19, 1957.
She is survived by one son, Robert R. (Sally) Gable of Grand Rapids, MI and 5 daughters, Vicki L (Jeffrey) Schenher of Churubusco, IN; D. Jayne (Rob) Monsipapa of Mesa, AZ; Nancy A. Gilbert, Carol A. Oliver and Laura (Bud) Snyder all of Columbia City, IN; 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Jane Brink of Findlay, OH.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray H. and Amanda Marie Thomas Kohart and her husband Jack Russell Honeick who died in 1980.

Celia "Sally" Rivera, age 74, of 382 N. Walnut Street, Columbia City, IN, died at 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday May 22, 2002 at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana. She was born in Guadalupe Co., New Braunfels, TX on August 04, 1927 to Rafael and Josefa (Dias) Martinez.
She was educated and resided in Texas until 1948 when she moved to Columbia City. She was married to Daniel Rosas Torres October, 1948 in Eagle Pass, Texas. Her second marriage was to Lino Rivera on December 12, 1981 in Columbia City. Her past employers were Chamberlain Products, South Whitley, IN and Viking Inc., Columbia City, IN.
She is survived by her husband, Lino Rivera of Columbia City, IN; one son, Oscar (Bonnie) Torres of Columbia City, IN; three daughters, Gloria (Keith) Kesling, and Aelvia (Walter) Barnes both of Columbia City, IN, and Irene (Daniel) Strong of Urbana, OH; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 12 Brothers & Sisters.
Her parents, four brothers and sisters, and step-mother, Julia E. Martinez, have preceded her in death.

Tricia Vilches, age 55, of 98 West Rue Dijon, Columbia City, IN 46725 was pronounced dead at 7:10 am on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the scene of a car train accident which occured at 6:33 a.m. on Washington Road, rural Whitley County, IN.
She was born on February 13, 1947 in Chicago, Cook County, IL to Albert Uno Selander and Margaret Josephine Herde Selander. Tricia was reared in Northlake, IL and later moved to Fox Lake and Gurney, IL. She moved to Columbia City, IN in 1998. She graduated from Leyden High School in Northlake, Illinois and received her RN license from Illinois Masonic School of Nursing, Chicago, IL. She was a member of the American Organization of Registered Nurses and the American Sewing Guild. She was an avid seamtress and loved her 2 very special dogs Llopsy and Chiquita.
She married Mariano Rodriguez Vilches on June 1, 1985 in Waukegan, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Mariano Rodriguez Vilches, Columbia City, IN; daughter Tracy A. (Anthony) Cecola, San Jose, CA; son,Bobby Enger, Columbia City, IN; Mike T. (Gina) Vilches, Northfield, IL and Lisa (Terry) Chesser, Lindenhurst, IL; 4 grandchildren, 1 brother Donald Albert (Gretchen) Selander, Chisago City, MN and 1 sister Peggy (Alvin) Rosebear, Plymouth, MN. Also several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Jeremy Allen Boyles, age 16, of 511 East Jackson Street, Columbia City, IN died at 10:36 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2002 at the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on August 7, 1985 in Columbia City, IN to Douglas Allen and Brenda Kay (Knuckles) Boyles.
Jeremy has spent his entire lifetime in Whitley County and he was a former high school student and loved music.
He is survived by his mother, Brenda Kay (John Clark) Steele of Columbia City, IN; father, Douglas Allen (Amy S.) Boyles of Fort Wayne, IN; 2 brothers, Tristan Eugene Boyles of Fort Wayne, IN and Gary Allen Woodard, Jr. of South Whitley, IN; grandparents, Carl E. Bertha Beatrice Thorn, age 79, of 1866 W 1000 S, Washington Township, Columbia City, IN 46725, died suddenly at 10:08 a.m. on Monday, May 27, 2002 at her Washington Townhip residence. She was born on September 21, 1922 in Washington Township, Whitley County, IN to Edmond L. and Etta Victoria (Keel) Juillerat.
She graduated from Washington Center High School with the Class of 1940. She married Jonathan LeLand Thorn on April 25, 1942 in Jefferson Twp. Whitley County, IN. She was a homemaker and worked with her family on their family farm. She spent her entire lifetime in Washington Township, Whitley County, IN except for a few years while her husband was in the military.
She is survived by 3 sons, Robert (Mary) Thorn; Richard (Lani) Thorn and Jerry Thorn all of Columbia City, IN; 3 brothers Donald (Orpha) Juillerat, of Larwill, IN and Ralph (Eloise) Juillerat of Churubusco, IN and 1 sister Mary Giant of Fort Wayne, IN. Also 3 grandchildren including Todd A. Schlichter of Columbia City, IN, Jonathan L. Thorn of Santa Monica, CA and Kristi L. Thorn of Louisville, KY.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jonathan LeLand Thorn who died in 1990; sisters, Lorene Richards and Berniece Alexander and brothers Harry, Ernest, Gilbert, Dale and Orville Juillerat.

Welcome Home! "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith", are words that would apply to W. Joyce Bollinger, age 98, 8333 S. 350 W., South Whitley, IN 46787, who died at 1:40 p.m. at her residence south of Tunker, Washington Township, Whitley County, on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 after a brief illness. She was born in Greentown, Howard County, IN on March 11, 1904 to John Henry Reed and Jennie Susan Broyles Reed. She graduated from Washington Center High School with the Class of 1923. She then was certified in March 1927 with the Sherwood Music School, Chicago, IL. Mrs. Bollinger taught paino for over 60 years and taught over 350 students.
She married her high school sweetheart, Harry Rudolph Bollinger on August 12, 1926 at the Church of the Brethren, in Kokomo, IN. Mr. Bollinger, a school teacher for over 40 years in Whitley County, passed away on April 21, 1981. She has resided at her Washington Township farm south of Tunker since 1926.
Her church memberships over the years include the Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren, Tunker, IN, the South Whitley Church of the Brethren and lastly she has been attending the Community of Hope Grace Brethren Church, Columbia City, IN. She was an avid reader, writer, writing some poetry and she loved her flower gardens.
Surviving are three daughters, Alice Joy Bohnstedt, 110 Mulberry Street, Columbia City, IN 46725, Mary Ellen Thomas, 3769 W 800 S, South Whitley, IN 46787 and Wanda Rose Friesen, PO Box 3142, San Luis Obispo, CA 93403; two sons, John Phares (Marian) Bollinger, 7750 S 200 W, Columbia City, IN 46725 and Harry R. (Velva) Bollinger, 4011 South Nebraska Street, Marion, IN 46953; 1 sister Juanita Reed Hoover, Marion, IN; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Her husband and parents preceded her in death along with 1 brother John Wesley Reed and 2 half brothers, Paul and Robert Reed and 6 half sisters, Roxy Sleeth, Ethel Rosier, Hazel Mitchener, Dolly Reed, Marie Reed and Bertha Clevenger. Also 2 son in laws, Edward Bohnstedt and Jack G. Thomas, 1 grandson, Kenyon Bollinger and 1 grandson in law, Dick Clifford.
