Ival E. Allen
Ival E. Allen, 88 of Markle died at 4:45 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Markle Health Care in Markle. Mr. Allen was a 1934 graduate of East Union High School. He was a native and life long resident of Wells County, Union Township where he lived in the house he was born in. He was a farmer and also drove a school bus with the Northern Wells County School Corporation for 15 years. He had worked at Hower Tool in Ossian for 11 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Markle Church of Christ. He had also been a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Markle Boy Scouts.
M r. Allen was born on August 24, 1915 in Wells County, a son of J. Clyde and Celeste Leavengood Allen.
He was united in marriage to Lois Slater on December 3, 1944 at the Beach Grove Church of Christ in Roanoke. His wife survives in Markle.
Additional survivors include three sons: Dennis (Joyce) Allen of Markle; Gary (Karen) Allen and Lynn (Sharen) Allen both of Fort Wayne; a daughter: Mrs. Ray (Susan) Guillaume of Landrum, South Carolina; a sister: Mary Mann of Huntington; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
An infant son: David Allen; a brother and 4 sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 26, 2003 with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse Street, Markle with Pastor Gerald O. Moreland officiating.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery
in Markle.

Alice Rose Sheets
Alice Rose Sheets, 90 of Huntington died at 9:05 AM on Sunday, November 16, 2003 at Miller`s Merry Manor in Huntington. Mrs. Sheets worked for many years at Triad-Utrad in Huntington. She was a 1931 graduate of Clear Creek High School. She was a member of the Pleasant Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was born on September 19, 1913 in Hartford City, a daughter of Earl and Jenny McCallister Younce.
She was united in marriage to Alton M. Sheets on July 20, 1932 in Whitley County. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Janice Loe of Roanoke; Mrs. Sharon Brown of Warrenville, ILL; a sister: Louise Emley of Huntington, five grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will be at the Pleasant Chapel Cemetery
in Huntington County.

Judith Arlene Garrett
Judith Arlene Garrett, 63 of Knapp Lake, Indiana died at 7:54 AM on Sunday, November 16, 2003 at Parkview Whitley County Hospital. Mrs. Garrett was a 1959 graduate of Huntington High School. She had worked as a press operator at Imco in Huntington for seven years. She had also worked as a chef at The Boondocks, Poff`s Place and The Filling Station all in Huntington retiring in 1999.
She was born on October 29, 1940 in Huntington, a daughter of Melvin and Blythe Jacobs Rice.
She was united in marriage to Dean B. Garrett on October 27, 1966 in Swansea, Mass. Her husband survives in Knapp Lake, Indiana.
Additional survivors include three sons: Bradley D. Rupright; Brian L. Rupright; Dean B. Garrett Jr. all of Knapp Lake, Indiana; two daughters: Mrs. Leroy (Angela J.) Fouts of Knapp Lake; Mrs. Jeff (Annette R.) Hall of Churubusco; a brother: Basil A. Rice of Albion; a sister: Jean Powell of Clermont, FL; and fifteen grandchildren.
A daughter: Allison Rupright; a granddaughter: Amanda Rupright and a daughter-in-law: Susan Rupright preceded her in death.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Kevin Dunlop officiating.
Interment will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery
in Huntington.
Charles Richard Hutchinson
Charles R. Rick Hutchinson, 40 of Roanoke died at 12:36 AM on Sunday, November 9, 2003 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Hutchinson was a 1981 graduate of Cloverdale High School in Cloverdale, Indiana. He was a 1985 graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where he earned his bachelors degree and in 2002 he graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana earning his masters degree. He worked as an Agricultural teacher at Huntington North High School since 1996 where he also served as the Future Farmers of America advisor and gave leadership to the Cisco Computer Technology Program. Prior to teaching at Huntington North High School he taught agriculture and was the Future Farmers of America advisor at Argos High School in Marshall County, Indiana for ten years.
He was a member of the Cornerstone Alliance Church in Roanoke where he served as Christian Education Director. He enjoyed landscaping, photography and woodworking. He volunteered as an assistant Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America troops in Huntington and Marshall County. He also served as a soccer coach for the Roanoke Youth League.
He was born on July 1, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois a son of Charles R. and Barbara E. Carnes Hutchinson.
He was united in marriage to Crystal Skeen on May 18, 1985 in Thorntown, Indiana. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include his mother: Mrs. Charles R. (Barbara) Hutchinson of South Bend; two sons: Levi Hutchinson and Noah Hutchinson both at home; a brother: Scott Hutchinson of Argos, IN and a sister: Mrs. Mark (Cara) Kowalt of South Bend.
His father: Charles R. Hutchinson preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2003 from 2:00 - 8:00PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Cornerstone Alliance Church, 5833 E. 900 N. in Roanoke with Pastor Darrell Weigelt officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the Levi and Noah Hutchinson Education Trust Fund in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Interment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery
in Roanoke.
Effie M. Johnson
Effie M. Johnson, 87 of Huntington died at 11:55 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the Hospice Home of North East Indiana in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Johnson was a 1935 graduate of Washington Center High School in Whitley County. She had worked as an inspector and tester in manufacturing at Wabash Magnetics where she retired after 20 years of service. She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Roanoke.
She was born on October 8, 1916 in Whitley County, a daughter of Perry W. and Laura S. Vergon Goble.
She was united in marriage to Earl A. Johnson on March 10, 1942 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1994.
Survivors include a son: William Johnson of Huntington; two daughters: Mrs. Roger (Susan) Couch of Huntington; Mrs. Larry (Laura) Dinius of Roanoke; a sister: Mrs. Ted (Betty) Hollenbaugh of Laud, IN; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
Six brothers: Amber Goble, Dewey Goble, Jule Goble, Alonzo Goble, Raymond Goble and Howard Goble and four sisters: Maggie Vawter, Juanita Kohr, Vera Runge and Amelia Ambrose preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2003 from 2:00 - 4:00PM and 6:00 - 8:00PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2003 at 11:00AM, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Faith Lutheran Church, 3416 E. 900 N. in Roanoke with Rev. Daniel Coffey officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the Diabetes. Association or to the Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery
in Huntington.
Martin Ray Lightner
Martin R. Marty Lightner, 43, of Huntington died at 9:55 AM on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at his home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Lightner was a 1978 graduate of Huntington North High School and a member of the College Park United Brethren Church. He worked for several years as a custodial aide at Huntington North High School. He was an avid fan of Indiana University basketball.
Mr. Lightner was born July 19, 1960, in Huntington, a son of William A. and Betty Anne (Norris) Lightner.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Anne Lightner of Huntington; a brother, Monte Lightner of Roanoke; a sister, Mrs. Joe (Michelle) Santa of Huntington; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel with Dr. Raymond Waldfogel, Dr. Howard F. Cherry and Rev. Brent Birdsall officiating.
Interment will be in the Pilgrim`s Rest Cemetery
in Huntington, IN.
