Norman W. Harvey
Norman W. Bud Harvey, 85 of Markle (formerly of Andrews) died at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Markle Health Care in Markle. Mr. Harvey was a 1935 graduate of West Union High School. He had worked as a conductor for the Erie - Lackawana Railroad for several years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star.
He was born on August 9, 1917 in Huntington County, a son of Otto and Martha Robrock Harvey.
He was united in marriage to Helen Rae Dairy on October 24, 1968. She preceded him in death on May 18, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters: Lonna R. Dickey of Huntington; Celesta Dickman of Illinois; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Three daughters: Norma Harvey, Ammeretta Harvey, Jennifer Harvey, a brother: Edward Harvey and two sisters: Blanche Reber and Clarissa Hoover preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation.
Private family services will be held.
Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery
in Huntington County.

George A. Brown
George A. Brown, 73 of Beard Street, Huntington died at 6:10 AM on Sunday, May 18, 2003 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Brown was a delivery truck driver for many years.
He was born on March 2, 1930 in Huntington County, a son of Glenn E. and Hope W. Whitmore Brown.
Survivors include his mother: Hope W. Brown of Huntington; a brother: Robert Brown of Huntington and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A private graveside service will be held at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery
with Rev. Dale Lynhart officiating.

Timothy R. North
Timothy R. North, 42 of Pasadena, Calif. (formerly a resident of Huntington) died at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. Mr. North was an artist, musician and performer, holding a bachelor of fine arts degree from the John Herron School of Art at Indiana University, Indianapolis. He had been a designer for The Gap in San Francisco before relocating to the Los Angeles area last year.
He performed with his music/art sculpture, the Hoverdrum, in New York, Los Angeles, Mexico City and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. His acrylic prints were most recently exhibited at the Herron Gallery in Indianapolis. He also recorded music with his wife and numerous groups in the San Francisco, Los Angeles and Indianapolis areas and had provided sound work for movies and national television commercials. He was a 1979 graduate of Huntington North High School.
He was born on September 17, 1960 in Huntington, the son of Larry and Carolyn Phillips North.
He was united in marriage to Susan Maunu on October 23, 1992 in Indianapolis. His wife survives in Pasadena, Calif.
Additional survivors include his father: Larry North of Mt. Etna; his mother: Carolyn Psehes of Ft. Wayne; his stepmother: Susan K. North of Mt. Etna; his stepfather: Christian F. Psehes of Ft. Wayne; a daughter: Trista Rane North at home; two sisters: Mrs. Steve (Kimberly S.) Barton of Ft. Wayne; Mrs. Richard (Karen J.) Conley of Bloomington and a brother: Brian D. North of Roanoke.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor James Bachman officiating.
Jacob M. Easterday
Jacob Michael Easterday, was stillborn on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Survivors include his parents: James and Patricia Easterday of Roann; two brothers: Colton and Peyton Easterday both at home; a sister: Emily Easterday at home; maternal grandparents: Mrs. Janice Perry of Bippus; Mr. Herbert Perry of Kimmel, IN; paternal grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. David Buhr of New Haven; Mr. & Mrs. Carl Easterday of Fort Wayne and a great grandmother: Mrs. Martha Perry of Columbia City.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2003 at the Mount Hope Cemetery
in Huntington with C. J. Steiner officiating.

Robert J. Lewis
Robert Jeff Lewis, 33 of 508 Chilcote Street, Columbus, Ohio died at 1:08 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Mr. Lewis was a 1986 graduate of Linden McKinley High School in Columbus. He worked as a janitor at ARC Industries for several years in Columbus.
He was born on November 3, 1969 in Williamson, West Virginia, the son of Robert L. Lewis and Pamela Muncey Lewis.
Survivors include his father: Robert L. Lewis of Columbus, OH; his mother: Pam Lewis of Huntington; his co-parent: Betty Burkett of Huntington; a brother: William Lewis of Columbus, OH; a sister: Lorna Lewis of Columbus, OH; three nephews and three nieces; special friends: Betty, Judy, Linda, Danielle, Gary Jr. and Ann.
There will be no public visitation or services.

James Walter Bowers
James Walter Bowers, 76 of Huntington died at 11:20 AM on Thursday, May 1, 2003 at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Bowers was a 1944 graduate of Huntington High School and earned his Undergraduate and Law Degrees at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana in 1950 and 1952. He was admitted to the Indiana State Bar in 1953. He interrupted his college education and enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1945. Following his military service, he returned to Indiana University to complete his education.
In 1953 he joined the Huntington law firm of Bowers, Feightner and Palmer, with his father and Arthur J. Palmer. The firm later became Bowers, Brewer, Garrett and Wiley. He was a partner in the law firm until his partial retirement in 1997. He was a third generation Huntington attorney following his father and grandfather, Fred H. Bowers in the practice of law. His son, Lee, joined him in practice in 1988 becoming the forth generation in the Huntington law firm. Bowers, Brewer, Garret and Wiley celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1999.
He was a former prosecuting attorney for Huntington County. He was a certified Indiana Mediator and a member of the Huntington County, Indiana State and American Bar Associations as well as a fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation. He served as treasurer of the Indiana State Bar Association from 1982 to 1983 and served on its Board of Managers from 1991 to 1992. He was a member of the Probate, Trust and Real Property Sections of the Indiana State Bar Association.
Throughout his career in Huntington, Mr. Bowers served on numerous local boards, including Community State Bank, later Wells Fargo Bank; Huntington Chamber of Commerce; Huntington County United Way; Mt. Calvary Cemetery
Association; YMCA, Huntington Kiwanis and the Cosmopolitan Club.
An avid golfer, Mr. Bowers was Club Champion at the LaFontaine Country Club several times in the 1960`s. He was also a member of the Fort Wayne Country Club, where he was Club Champion in 1977.
He was born on September 3, 1926 in Huntington, a son of Lee Metzler and Anne Walter Bowers.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Synck on April 23, 1960 in Coldwater, Ohio. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son: Lee M. Bowers II of Huntington, a daughter: Mrs. Kevin (Julia) Karst of Huntington; three beloved grandchildren, Michael, Emily and Matthew Karst all of Huntington and his faithful dog: Angus.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 5, 2003 from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery
in Huntington.

Barbara Ann Jennings
Barbara A. Jennings, 69, of Marion and formerly of Bluffton, died at 7:30 AM Saturday, April 12, 2003 at the Wesleyan Health Care in Marion, Indiana. Mrs. Jennings worked as a secretary for the Lincoln National Life Corporation in Fort Wayne and then as a factory worker for E-Systems/Memcor in Huntington. She retired from E-Systems/Memcor in 1977 after 17 years of employment.
She was born January 1, 1934 the daughter of Claude E. and Ruby Herndon Mulles. She was a 1952 graduate of Union Center High School, Wells County, Indiana. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed making crafts and playing piano. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Bluffton, Indiana.
She is survived by her mother, Ruby Mulles of McMinnville, OR; a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Debra) Shepler of Marion, IN; two granddaughters, Heather Shepler-Smith of Fort Wayne, IN, and Ashlae Shepler of Marion, IN; a great grandson, Blaike Shepler-Smith of Fort Wayne, IN; and a brother, Rev. Ronald K. Mulles of McMinnville, OR.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claude E. Mulles in 1993.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana, with Rev. Ronald K. Mulles officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Hoverstock Cemetery
in Zanesville, Indiana.
