Ilene A. Mauger
Ilene A. Mauger, 80 of Huntington died at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2003 at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Mauger was a waitress at Johnny`s Drive Inn in Huntington since 1994. She served at Rotary Luncheons since 1986 and also at wedding receptions and functions at the LaFontaine Center. She was a 1940 graduate of Huntington High School.
Mrs. Mauger was born on October 12, 1922 in Bippus, a daughter of Howard and Ruth Huston Altman.
She was united in marriage to Charles E. Pete Mauger on October 4, 1945 in Markle. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1978.
Survivors include two sons: Steven L. Mauger of Fort Wayne; Jeffrey A. Mauger of Columbia City; a daughter: Susan Sam Mauger of Huntington; a sister: Eleanor Parker of Fort Wayne; two brothers: James Bates of Huntington; Devon PeeWee Bates of Roanoke and five grandchildren.
Three sisters preceded her in death: Catherine Katie Middleton; Freida Gamble and Deloris Adams and her stepfather: Floyd R. Bates.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 27, 2003 from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Monday, July 28, 2003 at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with one hour of visitation prior to the 11:00 AM service with Pastor George Cecil officiating.
Interment will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery
in Huntington at a later date.

Raymond M. Martin
Raymond M. Snap Martin, 77 of Huntington died at 3:10 AM on Friday, July 25, 2003 at Miller`s Merry Manor in Huntington. Mr. Martin retired in 1991 as an audit examiner with the State of Indiana Employment Security Division. He had previously worked as a sales representative for Friden Business Machines in Fort Wayne. He was a 1943 graduate of Washington Township High School in Cass County, Indiana. He was a 1948 graduate of Indiana Business College in Logansport. He was a member of the College Park United Brethren Church in Huntington. He was a past member of the Logansport Jaycees and past president of the Lucerne Indiana Lion`s Club and a past member of Gideon`s International. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 47 of Fort Wayne. He was a U.S Army veteran who served as a Technician 4th Grade during WWII in the Phillipines. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, woodworking and traveling in his trailer.
He was born on December 18, 1925 in Young America, Indiana, a son of Homer and Charlotte Marshall Martin.
He was united in marriage to Mary Koppe on June 20, 1948 in Logansport. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a two sons: Phil Martin of Fort Wayne; Robin Martin of New Haven; a daughter: Mrs. Nick (Carolyn) Stanger of Roanoke; two grandchildren: Becca Martin, Dan Martin and his beloved pet: Sarah.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Miriam Catron.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 28, 2003 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held at 11:00AM with one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at the College Park United Brethren Church, 1945 College Avenue with Pastor Raymond Waldfogel officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery
in Logansport.
In lieu of flowers preferred memorials are to Paws for Cause or to College Park United Brethren Church in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Joseph Andrew Friedman
Joseph A. Andy Friedman, 69 of Huntington died at 3:15 PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne. Mr. Friedman worked as a Journeyman Pressman at Noll Printing in Huntington for 34 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of GCIU Local #411 of Huntington and Fort Wayne and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. He was a past member of the Huntington Moose Lodge and Izaac Walton League. He also worked part time at Friedman`s Finer Foods in South Whitley. He was a 1952 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. He enjoyed bowling in the Moose League and various church leagues.
Mr. Friedman was born on May 19, 1934 in Huntington a son of Joseph Herman and Ethel Irene Altman Friedman.
He was united in marriage to Carol J. Rice on August 8, 1970. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include three sons: Daniel Anthony Friedman of North Manchester; Darren Allen Friedman of North Manchester; Steven Andrew Friedman of Winter Park, FL; two daughters: Rose Marie Beck of Andrews; Amanda Suzanne Bodrie of Trenton, MI; a brother: George Friedman of Centralia, WA; a sister: Ann Tuttle of Huntington; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A son: David Andrew Friedman and two grandchildren: Jason Matthew Beck and Bryan Matthew Friedman preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 1, 2003 from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 840 Cherry Street, Huntington, Indiana with Father Ron Rieder officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery
in Huntington.

Donald Levi Erb
Donald L. Erb, 92 of Warren died at 4:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2003 at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Mr. Erb had worked for JC Penney for over 40 years starting part time in 1927, he was Manager of the Downtown Huntington store for several years, retiring in 1971. He was a 1929 graduate of Peru High School, he also attended Depauw University for 2 years and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was a 50-year member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington. Mr. Erb was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Seymore, IN joining in 1949, he was a member of the Scottish Rite in Ft. Wayne, he became a 32 degree Mason in 1964 and joined the Mizpah Shrine in 1965. He was a U.S Army veteran serving in WWII.
He was born on May 14, 1911 in Peru, Indiana a son of Orville and Anna Hentgen Erb.
He was united in marriage to Esther M. Worden on November 30, 1933 in Rochester, IN., she preceded him in death on July 17, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter: Mrs. Jay (Jean) Schilling of Huntington; a brother: Russell Erb of Warren. He was preceded in death by an infant son: Warren Lee Erb and a brother Arthur Erb.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 4, 2003 from 4:00PM - 7:00PM at the Applegate Chapel of the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren, IN.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at 10:30 AM at the Applegate Chapel of the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren, IN., with Chaplain John Bellante officiating.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery
in Huntington County.
Memorial Contributions are to the United Methodist Memorial Home or to the Donor`s Choice.
Thurman Vance
Thurman Vance, 76 of Huntington died at 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at his home. Mr. Vance had worked for 30 years at Sealtest in Huntington, retiring in 1987.
He was born on November 21, 1927 in Ligon, Kentucky, a son of William and Rebecca Elswick Vance.
He was united in marriage to Alpha Jean Hamilton on October 25, 1944 in Floyd County, Kentucky. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son: Tim Vance of Huntington; two daughters: Yvonne Killough of LA.; Mrs. Phil (Betty) Hall of KY; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 1:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Huntington Chapel with Pastor Brooks L. Fetters officiating.
Interment will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery
in Huntington.

Billy Patrick McNamara
Bill P. McNamara, 60 of Logan Street, Markle died at 5:35 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne. Mr. McNamara had worked as an ironworker in the Fort Wayne area for many years. He was a 1962 graduate of Southside High School in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Waynedale and the Ironworkers Union of Fort Wayne.
He was born on January 18, 1943 in Manchester, Kentucky, a son of William and Sally Warren McNamara.
Survivors include his mother: Sally McNamara of Markle and two sons: Sam McNamara of Huntington and John McNamara of Markle.
Two brothers: John McNamara, Fred Sprankles and a sister: Elizabeth Busick preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 6, 2003 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel.
Services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery
in Markle.
