Curtis E. Stetzel
Curtis E. Stetzel, 87 formerly of Huntington died at 3:25 PM on Monday, December 9, 2002 at the Hospice Home of North East Indiana in Fort Wayne. Mr. Stetzel was a lifelong farmer in Huntington, Whitley and Allen Counties. He was a member of the College Park United Brethren Church in Huntington where he was active in the Monday Morning Men`s Prayer Group and had served as an usher for many years. He was a member of the Huntington County 4-H Board and served as chairman for many years.
He was a 1933 graduate of Union Township High School in Huntington County.
He was born on June 26, 1915 in Huntington County, a son of Cary E. and Susan G. (Hosler) Stetzel.
He was united in marriage to Edna M. Wetters on June 12, 1938 in Roanoke. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1998.
Survivors include two sons: Duane E. Stetzel of Roanoke, Dwight A. Stetzel of Columbia City, a daughter: Mrs. Michael (Laraine) Mills of Syracuse, IN., two brothers: James Stetzel of Huntington, Von Stetzel of Warren, a sister: Clanedia Platt of Huntington, ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A sister: Laura Lahr preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 1:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Rev. Raymond Waldfogel officiating.
Preferred memorials are to the College Park United Brethren Church in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Interment will be at the Zion Cemetery
in Huntington County.
Joseph Louis Burkhart
Joseph L. Burkhart, 75 of Sechrist Lake, Warsaw (formerly of Huntington) died on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at his home. Mr. Burkhart had worked for the Erie Railroad for 22 years. He was owner of the Green Parrot Tavern in South Whitley. He was also a realtor for Pier 13 Realtors in North Webster. He was a 1946 graduate of Huntington High School and he attended Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne for two years. He was a member of the Huntington Moose Lodge, VFW Post 2689 of Huntington, American Legion Post 253 of North Webster, F.O.P. of Huntington since 1977, the Indiana Board of Realtors and the Indiana High School Basketball Hall of Fame.
He was born on January 14, 1928 in Huntington a son of Theodore W. and Ethel I. (Rupley) Burkhart.
He was united in marriage to Tillie VanWagner; she preceded him in death. His second marriage was to Marjorie Davidson, she preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son: Joseph L. Burkhart Jr. of Huntington; two daughters: Jody Wehr of Hilliard, OH; Mrs. Ray (Janna) Williams of Roanoke; a sister: Evalois L. Sunday of Huntington; his companion: Barbara A. Hale of Sechrist Lake; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A brother: Paul R. Burkhart preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 15, 2003 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Services will be on Friday, May 16, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana with Rev. Matt Snodderly officiating.
Interment will be at the Oak Lawn Cemetery
in Ossian.

Marilyn J. Myers
Marilyn J. Myers, 59 of Columbia Street, Huntington died at 11:45 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the Hospice Home of North East Indiana in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Myers was a 1962 graduate of Huntington High School. She worked in the printing department at Our Sunday Visitor/Noll Printing for 40 years. She was an avid rock collector and enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts. She was also an artist.
She was born on July 16, 1943 in Huntington County, the daughter of Robert B. and Gladys V. Mote Szelis.
Survivors include her mother: Gladys V. Szelis of Huntington; two uncles: Kenneth Mote and Raymond Mote and several cousins.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Rev. Joe Hostetler officiating.
Interment will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery
in Huntington.

Martha Marie Shively
Martha M. Shively, 100 of Uniondale, died at 3:57 AM on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Markle Health Care in Markle. Mrs. Shively was a homemaker. She was a life member of the St. Mark`s Lutheran Church in Uniondale.
She was born on January 12, 1903 in Wells County the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth Harvey Gilbert.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence M. Jack Shively on January 17, 1923 in Uniondale. Her husband preceded her in death on November 11, 1987.
Survivors include three grandchildren: Ruth Butcher of Ft. Wayne, Jack Roller of Uniondale, Jim Roller of Bluffton, a son-in-law: Dallas Roller of Uniondale, seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
A daughter: Darlene Roller preceded her in death in 1996.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 24, 2003 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Services will be held following visitation on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 3:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel with Pastor Andrew Hart officiating.

Thomas E. Teusch
Thomas E. Teusch, 57 of Etna Ave., Huntington died at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne. Mr. Teusch had worked at Wabash Magnetics for 29 years, he was a supervisor in manufacturing. He attended the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was a 1964 graduate of Huntington Township High School. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears and he also enjoyed fishing for bluegill and crappie.
He was born on May 2, 1946 in Huntington County, a son of Clarence E. and Ruby L. Burns Teusch.
Survivors include his mother: Mrs. Ruby L. Teusch of Huntington, two brothers: Jack Teusch of Brookville, FL., Michael Teusch of Florida, two sisters: Suzanne Raper of Huntington and Mrs. Larry (Dorie) Heyde of Huntington.
Two brothers: Donald and Joseph Teusch and a sister: Mrs. Clayton (Linda) Shepperd preceded him in death.
There will be no calling hours.
A private graveside service will be held at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery
in Huntington County.

Mabel Irene Wilhelm
Mabel I. Wilhelm, 87 of rural Huntington died at 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at her home. Mrs. Wilhelm was a 1933 graduate of Huntington Township High School. She had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Brubaker for seven years. She and her husband farmed in Lancaster Township since 1935. She was a member of the East State Street Church of God in Huntington.
She was born on October 31, 1915 in Wabash County, a daughter of Fred and Florrie Turner Cozad Sr.
She was united in marriage to G. Myron Wilhelm on November 9, 1935 in Huntington. Her husband preceded her in death on September 14, 1976.
Survivors include a son: James E. Wilhelm; two daughters: Mrs. Donald (Janice) Hanson and Mrs. Kent (Martha) Fites all of Huntington; two brothers: Fred Cozad Jr. of Huntington; Kenneth Cozad of Columbia City; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Two daughters: Ann Covey; Marilyn Ingram; a brother: Raymond Cozad and three sisters: Pearl Cozad; Elsie Zumbrun and Ernestine Richards preceded her in death.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 21, 2003 from 5-8PM and Sunday, June 22, 2003 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the East State Street Church of God with Pastor Steven Stull officiating.

Lola M. Gray
Lola M. Gray, 81 of Huntington died at 2:50 AM on Friday, June 20, 2003 at Norwoods Nursing Center in Huntington. Mrs. Gray had lived in Huntington County since 1969. She was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2689 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Post 7 American Legion for over 50 years. She had worked in retail at the Grants Store in Huntington for 6 years and had worked in the Huntington County School Corporation for 9 years in the cafeteria kitchens.
She was born on June 26, 1921 in Clarksville, TN, a daughter of Pete and Sue Clark Morrison.
She was united in marriage to John E. Gray Sr. on December 24, 1939 in Hopkinsville, KY. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1984.
Survivors include a son: John E. Gray of Enterprize, OR; a daughter: Suzanne Gray of Huntington; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
Four brothers: Robert, Mack, Henry and Jewel Morrison and two sisters: Vera Greer and Laura Metcalf preceded her in death.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery
