Emely Irene Enos
Irene Enos, 92, formerly of Huntington died at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2002 at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren where she had been a resident since 1995. Mrs. Enos was a homemaker and a life long member of the Central Christian Church in Huntington.
She was born on August 17, 1910 in Huntington, a daughter of Ernest F. and Ruth E. (Shafer) Poling.
She was united in marriage to Charles L. Enos on May 26, 1929 in Huntington, IN. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter: Mrs. Karol (Gloria) Cossairt of Markle, 3 Grandsons: David Cossairt of Huntington and Kevin & Maurice Cossairt of Markle. 7 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Patricia A. Enos and Georganna Enos; two brothers Silas and Earl Poling.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN. with Rev. Cameron Douglas officiating.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2002 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery
in Warren.

Theda Vanessa Gates
Theda V. Gates, 92, formerly of College Avenue in Huntington died at 8:10 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at the Timbercrest Retirement Center in North Manchester. Mrs. Gates was born on February 19, 1910 in Heaslip, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of William C. and Elizabeth J. (Webb) Gilchrist. She was a 1928 graduate of Kenmore High School near Buffalo, NY. She also attended business college for two years in Buffalo, NY.
She was united in marriage to Earle W. Gates, Sr. on September 13, 1936 in Buffalo, NY. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1963. For 25 years she served alongside her husband who was the pastor of First Church of Evans in Derby, NY.
Mrs. Gates was a homemaker and also worked for 9 years as a residence counselor at Huntington College. She was a member of College Park United Brethren Church and was active in the Women`s Missionary Fellowship. She was also actively supportive of the work of the International Society of Christian Endeavor and was a member of the Huntington College Auxillary.
Survivors include a son; Mr. Earle W. Gates, Jr. (Laurel) of Collins, NY; two daughters; Mrs. Kent (Carol) Maxwell of Huntington, IN and Mrs. John (Diane) Bedell of Canon City, CO; one brother; Carl Gilchrist (Ruth) of Cleveland, Tennessee and a sister; Mrs. Oliver (Verna) Strait of Kenmore, NY; six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; two foster daughters; Mrs. Robert (Pearl) Vest of Clearwater, Florida and Mrs. Adam (Emily) Miller of Mansfield, Ohio and one foster son.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 10, 2002 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN. Additional visitation will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Heimburg-Addison Funeral Home, 262 North Main Street, Angola, NY.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at 10:00 AM at First Church of Evans, 7431 Erie Road, Derby, NY. Interment will be at the Forest Avenue Cemetery
in Angola, NY.

Buford O. Whisenhunt
B. Olen Whisenhunt, 73 of Huntington died at 5:45 AM on Friday, November 8, 2002 at the Parkview Huntington Hospital. Mr. Whisenhunt owned and operated Wholesale Auto Parts in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1974 to 1989. He moved back to Huntington in 1989 after retiring. He had also worked at H-K Porter and the Schacht Rubber Company in Huntington for several years. He was a member of the Saint Mary`s Catholic Church and was a member of the ALPCA License Plate Collectors Club #7908.
He was born on October 6, 1929 in Foreman, Arkansas a son of John and Ida Tedder Whisenhunt.
He was united in marriage to Rita Jane Homier on November 5, 1979 in Arkansas. His wife survives in Huntington.
Survivors include five sons: Robert O. Whisenhunt of Keys, FL, Thomas O. Whisenhunt, Bobby O. Whisenhunt both of Dierks, AR, John O. Whisenhunt, Roger Whisenhunt both of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Four daughters: Mrs. Tim (Teri) Beeks of Huntington, Jo Whisenhunt of Dierks, AR, Georgia Trujillo, Mrs. Dean (Minnie) Baker both of Albuquerque, NM, two step daughters: Pam Dennis and Deb Arquette both of Huntington, two brothers: Bill L. Whisenhunt of Tuscon, AZ, Jim Whisenhunt of Minden, LA, twenty-four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A sister: Oza Mae Young preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 11, 2002 from 2:00 - 8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at 10:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Father Gary Sigler officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery
in Huntington.

Delvia Washington Stickler
Delvia W. Stickler, 89 of Huntington, died at approximately 7:00 AM on Monday, December 2, 2002 at his home. Mr. Stickler was a machinist at General Electric for 37 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church and he attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington. He enjoyed singing in both church choirs. He was also a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the GE Camping Club. He volunteered in Missions in Mexico. He was a member of the Markle Historical Society. He participated with his wife, Alice (Plasterer) in her bubble show presentations. He earned both the associate and bachelor degrees in Biblical studies from the Anchor Theological Seminary of Texarkana, Texas. He served for two years with the Civilian Conservation Corps. in Idaho and California. He was a 1931 graduate of Huntington High School. He was also a member of the National Amateur Press Association.
He was born on July 3, 1913 in Markle, a son of Aaron and Velta Brickley Stickler.
He was united in marriage to Talitha F. Mounsey on August 1, 1937 in Markle. She preceded him in death on November 14, 1985. His second marriage was to Alice M. Plasterer Jacobs on April 23, 1992 in North Webster. His wife survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Dan (Marjoria) Dafforn of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Ron (Jane) Helzerman of Riverdale, MI., Mrs. Larry (Judith) Park of LaVista, Nebraska, two stepdaughters: Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Simmons of Long Beach, California, Mrs. Robert (Juanita) Schaeffer of Milwaukee, fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
A sister: Arzetta Nevius, a brother: Paul Stickler and a great grandson: Christian Hersha preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 1:00 PM at the Markle United Methodist Church, 455 Morse Street, Markle, Indiana with visitation from 10:00 AM - 1:00PM prior to the service with Rev. Gary Allen and Rev. David Arnold officiating.
Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery
in Markle.

Arlene Louise Bechtel
Arlene L. Bechtel, 49 of Swan Street, Huntington died at 7:54 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Bechtel was a member of the New Hope United Brethren in Christ Church. She was a member of the Women`s International Bowling Congress and the Eagles Lodge in Huntington. She was a 1971 graduate of Four County Vocational High School in Ridgeville, Ohio. She was a daycare provider for many years in Huntington and she was a devoted grandmother.
She was born on July 30, 1953 in Napolean, Ohio a daughter of Guy Leroy and Betty Arlene Dannenberger Dishong.
She was united in marriage to Michael T. Bechtel on July 17, 1976 in Sandusky, Ohio. Her husband survives in Huntington.
Additional survivors include her mother: Betty Bowers Amato, Stepfather: Anthony Amato, a son: Michael T. Bechtel Jr., two daughters: Angel R. Bechtel and Amy M. Bechtel all of Huntington, a brother: David G. Dishong of Bryan, OH, a sister: Barbara S. Butler of Bluffton, two stepbrothers: Anthony Amato III of Sea Grove, MO, Alan J. Dishong of Florida, two stepsisters: Vicky Ciccotte of Florrisant, MO, Wendy Sue Lagert of Pennsylvania and seven grandchildren.
Her father: Guy L. Dishong and a granddaughter: Ariel R. Boyd preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2002 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at 11:00 AM, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the New Hope United Brethren in Christ Church, 2001 Engle Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana or to the American Cancer Association in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery
in Huntington.
Ernest Arthur Jenerou
Ernest A. Jenerou Sr. 63, of Gardner Ct. in Markle, died on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at 8:53 p.m. at the Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mr. Jenerou had worked various jobs over the years in cement work and in construction in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge in Michigan and a past member of the Moose Lodge in Huntington.
He was born on November 23, 1939 in Manistique, MI a son of Charles A. and Minnie S. Jenerou. He was united in Marriage to Ethel Lou Daily on March 2, 1968 in Flint, MI. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2002.
Survivors include - a son: Ernest A. Jenerou Jr. of Wyoming, a brother and Sister-in-law: Hughie W. and Sandra Jenerou of Manistique, MI., a sister: Mrs. Bill (Sharon) Hicks of Manistique, MI and several grandchildren.
Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle, IN.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Interment will take place in the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County.
