Sister Germaine Stadler

Sister Germaine Stadler O.L.V.M., 84, died at 7:15 p.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at the Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll.

Sister Stadler was born July 3, 1917, in St. Paul, Minn., to John and Catherine Stadler. She entered the Congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 27, 1945, and made first vows on Aug. 5, 1948. She served in missions in California, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada, and Utah, and served at Victory Noll as the general secretary of the Congregation for 18 years. She retired at Victory Noll in recent years.

Survivors include seven sisters, Cecillia Stadler, Susan Stadler, Barbara Knoebber, Sophie Trull and Theresa Fletchall, all of Topeka, Kansas, Mary Stadler, Dayton, Nev., and Regina Matheny, Annandale, Minn.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Stadler, James Stadler and Paul Stadler.

A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Victory Noll Chapel, 1900 W. Park Dr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with calling one hour prior to the Mass, at the Victory Noll Chapel. Father Thomas Fahey will officiate at the service.

Burial will be at the Victory Noll Cemetery.

The Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ronald D. Bartrom

Ronald D. Bartrom, 59, Manchester, Pa., died at 10:20 p.m. Friday (Jan. 11, 2002) at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.

Mr. Bartrom was a machinist for 20 years, first working for Lyons Metal and then Cole Steel, both in Pennsylvania. He was a member of Susquehanna Fire Company Station No. 27 in Pennsylvania; the South End Democratic Club, York, Pa.; the Wago Club, Mount Wolf, Pa.; and the United Steelworkers of America Union. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran.

He was born Aug. 21, 1942, in Huntington to William H. and Nellie Sands Bartrom. He married Cindy L. Burdette on Aug. 8, 1992. His wife survives.

Also surviving are a son, Richard E. Bartrom, York Haven, Pa.; five daughters, Ronda Sue Freeman of Nevada, Christine M. Sheffer, York, Pa., Carole A. Hostler, York Haven, Pa., Cathy S. Florea, Wesley, Iowa, and Tracey L. Bitting, Manchester, Pa.; a brother, Jerry Bartrom, Huntington; three sisters, Phyllis Hall, Huntington, Betty Gerringer, Huntington Beach, Calif., and Dixie Cobb, Brunswick, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Calling will be held from 6 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Tuesday at the Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, Pa. Rev. Richard Stambaugh will officiate the service.

Burial will be private with military honors by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

Esther P. Tomlinson

Esther Pauline Tomlinson, 80, of Roann, died at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 16, 2002) at the Community Care Center in Wabash.

Mrs. Tomlinson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Roann Church of the Brethren and the Womens Fellowship of the church, the Stitch & Chatter Home Economics Club, and the American Association of Retired Persons.

She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Alpena, Mich., to Ernest and Margaret Nitcher Bright. She graduated from Central High School, Flint, Mich., in 1940. She married Howard Tomlinson in Flint, Mich., on Sept. 14, 1941. Her husband died Feb. 19, 1988.

Survivors include three sons, Gene Tomlinson, Roann, Terry Tomlinson, Mansfield, Ohio, and Bruce Tomlinson, Lagro; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Bright and Clarence Bright; and a granddaughter.

Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, 335 S. Chippewa St., Roanoke.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the Roann Church of the Brethren. Erin Huiras will officiate.

Burial will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.

Preferred memorials are to the Roann Church of the Brethren Building Fund, in care of Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, 335 S. Chippewa St., Roann, IN 46974.

Dale E. Stroud

Dale E. Stroud, 49, 216 E. 5th St., Warren, died Wednesday (Jan. 16, 2002) from injuries he sustained while at work for Eckman Motors in Warren.

Mr. Stroud had been employed by Eckman Motors, Warren, as an automotive technician for the past 20 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Warren.

He was born Nov. 29, 1952, in Wells County to Harry L. and Patricia S. Lincoln Stroud. He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1971. He married Debra Falk in Warren on Oct. 17, 1975. His wife survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Darrell L. Stroud and Darren J. Stroud, both of Warren; and two brothers, Dennis Stroud and Robert Stroud, both of Warren.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday. Pastor Kathie Jones will officiate.

Burial will be at the Mitchell Cemetery, Warren.

Preferred memorials are to the Darrell and Darren Education Trust Fund, in care of Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, IN 46792.

Anita F. Renner

Anita Frances Renner, 78, a former resident of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday evening at her home in Lakeland, Fla., following an extended illness.

Mrs. Renner was a homemaker.

She was born March 16, 1923, in Huntington to Hubert and Hattie Young Phelps. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1941. She married George R. Renner in Las Vegas on Nov. 26, 1942. The couple spent most of their married lives in Fort Wayne until moving to Lakeland, Fla., in 1990. Mr. Renner survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Max (Linda) Gay, Churubusco, and Barbara Penn-Renner, Martha Renner and Deborah Mirante, all of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, Robert R. Renner, Lakeland, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Judy Renner, preceded her in death.

Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Churubusco, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. Rev. Ken Robinson will officiate.

Interment will be at the Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola.

C. Ellen Louck

Celesta Ellen Louck, 82, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2002) at AmeriCare Living Center, formerly Hartford City Community Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past two years.

Mrs. Louck retired from Muncie Chevrolet after 36 years of service. She was a member of the Hartford City Ladies of the Moose. She was a former resident of Dunkirk.

She was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Upland to Alvin M. and Stella L. Berry Glascock. She married Robert Lee Louck in Hartford City on June 29, 1946. Her husband died Dec. 2, 2001.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Walter R. (Vivian) Rodgers, Dunkirk, and Delores M. Hunnicutt, Montpelier; a brother, Alvin C. Glascock, Huntington; several nieces and nephews including Mrs. Wayne (Mary Ann) Jackson, Warren, and Mrs. Louis (Debra) Veilleux, Andrews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Henderson and Preston Glascock; and two sisters, Iva Buckland and Thelma McHenry.

Calling is 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service Saturday at the Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City. Rev. Lloyd Hall will officiate the service.

Burial will be at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.

Preferred memorials are to Riley Hospital for Children, 50 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46204.

Edna P. Bauer

Edna P. Bauer, 83, 1075 Little Turtle Trail, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2002) at her home.

Mrs. Bauer retired as a secretary for Schenkel’s Dairy after 10 years of service. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

She was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Huntington County to William and Mary France Lahr. She married Herbert Bauer on Nov. 19, 1938. Her husband died Jan. 10, 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Sharon) Solloway, Fort Wayne; a son, Gary Bauer, Huntington; six sisters, Lillian Lahr, Mrs. Don (Mary Alice) Shideler and Ruby Eckert, all of Warren, Mrs. Earl (Betty) Moldenhauer and Margery Rupel, both of Huntington, and Mrs. David (Shirley) Clapp, North Manchester; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A sister, Martha Weaver, preceded her in death.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hart Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 840 Cherry St., with Father Ron Rieder officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services for Huntington County, the American Heart Association, or Mass at the church, in care of Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.

June Schoeff

June Schoeff, 81, 739 Hitzfield St., died at 12:35 a.m. Friday (Jan. 18, 2002) at the I.U. Medical Center, Indianapolis.

Mrs. Schoeff was a professional singer and model. She was also a homemaker.

She was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Belleville, Ill., to Walter and Charlette Davison Schiender. She married Carl E. Schoeff May 15, 1950, in Los Angeles, Calif. Her husband survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Beverly McFadden, Huntington; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. A brother, Walter Schiender, preceded her in death.

Calling will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the Deal-Robbins and Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Jon Heaslet officiating. Burial will be at the Lancaster Cemetery.
