Delores S. Fleming
Delores S. Fleming, 80, LaPorte, died at 5:57 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) at the LaPorte Hospital.
Mrs. Fleming was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, LaPorte, and LaPorte Chapter of the Eastern Star 280. She was active in the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and also in the Hanley School PTA in LaPorte.
She was born Dec. 12, 1920, in LaPorte to John and Blanche Casper Horsley. She married Laurence D. Fleming in Huntington on June 27, 1943. Her husband died Sept. 1, 1971.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Fleming and Cynthia Evans, both of LaPorte, and Christine Shelton, Centralia, Ill.; three sons, Terrance Fleming, Chicago, Laurence Fleming, LaPorte, and Jerome Fleming, Indianapolis; two sisters, Addie Bel Ness, Huntington, and Joan Hook, Fort Wayne; two stepbrothers, Harry Miller, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Lyle Horsley, of California; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ladora Holmes and Arlene Huking.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. (CST) Tuesday, with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7 p.m., and from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Wednesday at the Essling Funeral Home, 1117 Indiana Ave., LaPorte. Rev. Susan Martin will officiate. Burial will be at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte.

Doris Ruth Kwietkowski Hall
Doris Ruth Kwietkowski Hall, 76, Phoenix, Ariz., died at 10:25 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 15, 2001) at Sunbridge Estrella, Avondale, Ariz.
Mrs. Hall was a homemaker who worked several years ago at Classic Trophies in Fort Wayne, where she made the Huntington North High School banner that hangs in North Arena.
She was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Roanoke, to Russell Feighner and Mary Ellen Shatzer Feighner Moore. Her first marriage was June 14, 1940, in Huntington, to Frank Kwietkowski. He died Feb. 8, 1982. Her second marriage was in Churubusco, to Olen Hall. He died April 15, 1988.
She is survived by a son, Jim Kwietkowski, Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Jean) Chambers, Huntington, Mrs. Eugene (Judy) Rollins, Syracuse, and Mrs. Victor (Vickie Sue) Hughes, LaOtto; two brothers, Harold Feighner, Churubusco, and Ray Feighner, Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Tricia) Roberson, Churubusco; two stepdaughters, Patsy Rickwalt, Taylor, Mich., and Mrs. Richard (Irene) Dalmer, Sterling, Mich.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Dorothy Mae Kwietkowski, Deloris Ruth Kwietkowski and Mary Margaret Kwietkowski; two sons, LeRoy Kwietkowski, and Timothy Kwietkowski; a stepson, Frank Kwietkowski; and a brother, Guy Feighner.
Calling is from 10 a.m. until the noon service Monday at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Rev. Steven N. Ailes will officiate at the service.
Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
Marian M. Holbrook
Marian Morris Holbrook, 88, St. Petersburg, Fla., died Friday (Feb. 16, 2001) at Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg.
She was a former Huntington resident.
She was born April 8, 1912, in Huntington, to Aubrey and Viola Allison. Her first husband, Paul Morris, and her second husband, Louis Holbrook, are deceased, as is a son, Jack Morris.
Survivors include a brother, Richard Allison, Huntington, plus three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held in St. Petersburg.
Irald Everett McBride
Irald Everett McBride, 90, Wabash, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday (February 17, 2001) at Wabash Healthcare Center, Wabash.
Mr. McBride worked for 20 years as a machinist with Ford Meter Box in Wabash, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Roann Christian Church and lived in the community of Stockdale for 43 years.
He was born May 11, 1910, in Huntington County, to Orla and Elizabeth Sheets McBride. His marriage was Jan. 24, 1937, in Huntington County, to the former Elizabeth Barnes. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Patrick McBride, Marion, Samuel McBride, Harlan, Daniel McBride, Cumming, Ga., Timothy McBride, Roann, and Ted McBride, Brunswick, Maine; two daughters, Mrs. Berne (Holly) Jones, Blue Mounds, Wis., and Mrs. Ervin (Bonnie) Castle, Roanoke; a brother, Ira McBride, Arcadia; and two stepsisters, Joan Eshelman, and Mrs. Herman (Pauline) Shoemaker, both of Avon Park, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A brother and a grandchild preceded him in death.
Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Monday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, 335 S. Chippewa Rd., Roann, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Dr. Lee Kantenwein officiating.
Burial will be at Roann Community Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the American Lung Association.
Vicki L. Reber
Vicki Lynn Reber, 48, Bluffton, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 18, 2001) at her home.
Mrs. Reber, a 1971 graduate of Bluffton High School, worked as a school bus driver for the Bluffton Harrison Metropolitan School District. She also drove for Seniorride, operated by the Wells County Council on Aging.
She was born Jan. 25, 1953, in Adams County, to Robert Graham and Betty Faus Graham. Her parents survive in Bluffton. She married Raymond Reber March 19, 1971, in Bluffton; her husband survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Christi Reber, Huntington, and Mrs. Patrick (Cami) Williams, Bluffton; a son, Cory Reber, Bluffton; a brother, R. Michael Graham, Fort Wayne; a sister, Mrs. Terri Ray, Bluffton; and a grandchild.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, 3220 S. Ind.-124, Bluffton. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery, Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wells County Council on Aging or Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana.
Linda M. Richardson
Linda M. Richardson, 62, Lagro, a former resident of Huntington, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 18, 2001) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Richardson had been employed as a finisher with IMCO Inc. of Huntington, where she had worked for 17 years. She was a 30-year member of Eagles Lodge 823 Women’s Auxiliary, attaining the Golden Eagle designation.
She was born Feb. 14, 1939, in Andrews, to Henry and Mildred Weaver Wintrode. She married Melvin Richardson at the Grayston Avenue Church in Huntington on June 4, 1955. Her husband survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Timothy L. Pfaff, New Baltimore, Mich., Randall J. Richardson, Huntington, and Melvin Lynn Richardson, Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Tina M. Stout, Lagro; a sister, Deloris Hoffman, Rockford, Ill.; two brothers, Bill Wintrode, Gas City, and Donald Wintrode, Wabash; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Russell Jon Richardson; two brothers, Frank Wintrode and Daniel Wintrode; a sister, Emogene Souers; and two grandsons.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Evangelist John Adams will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery, Mt. Etna.

Carolyn Sue Saunders
Carolyn Sue Saunders, 66, 1060 Esther St., died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) at Huntington Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Saunders was a lifelong resident of Huntington County. She was a 1952 graduate of Monument City High School and attended Ball State University. She retired after 13 years’ service with Memcor.
She was born Dec. 31, 1934, in Huntington, to Galen B. and Angiebelle Morris Lee. Her marriage was Aug. 28, 1954, in Huntington, to Donald I. Saunders. He died Nov. 23, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Ted Saunders and a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Tracy) Kissinger, both of Huntington; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Calling is from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Bailey-Love Mortuary.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Etna Cemetery, with Rev. Raymond Waldfogel officiating.

Ford W. Soper
Ford Wesley Soper, 83, Timberville, Va., died Friday (Feb. 16, 2001) at MontVue Nursing Home, Luray, Va.
Mr. Soper was a carpenter for the Carpenters’ Union Local 232 in Fort Wayne. During World War II, he was a master sergeant in the Army Air Corps.
He was born on June 18k 1917, in Detroit, Mich., to Charles L. and Elizabeth Staudard Soper. On July 30, 1949, he married Martha Heath, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sherry O’Hara, Indianapolis, and Jacki Coffman, Fulks Run, Va.; three sons, David Leakey of S. Carolina; Charles Soper, Tuscan, Ariz., and Joe Soper, Willard, Ohio; a sister, Vivian Mickley, Huntington; a brother, Warren Soper, Coos Bay, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Harrisonburg, Va. There are no separate calling hours.
