E. Paul Daniels
E. Paul Daniels, 67, 2000 Little Turtle Trail, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 20, 2001) at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Mr. Daniels, a former resident of Bluffton, Auburn and South Bend, retired as administrator for the Moose Lodge, where he was employed for more than 25 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 837, American Legion Post 7, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, all of Huntington; and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was born on May 3, 1933, in Adams County, a son of Carl Daniels and Ruth Hobson Daniels Balog. He was a 1951 graduate of Pleasant Mills High School. On Dec. 1, 1967, in Huntington, he married Elizabeth Kinsey. She survives in Huntington.
Other survivors include a son, Paul C. Daniels, Huntington; a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Catherine) Scheiber, Harrison, Idaho; a stepson, Scott Kinsey, Ossian; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Dan (Sharon) Barnes, Coram, N.Y., Mrs. Steve (Sandra) Arnold and Mrs. Bruce (Sheila) Blem, both of Bluffton; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Sue Myers; and two brothers, James Lloyd Daniels and Clyde Daniels.
Calling will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, with the Moose Lodge Pilgrims Memorial Service at 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rev. Steven N. Ailes officiating.
Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.

Dale E. Denton I
Dale E. Denton I, 65, 1634 Cottage Ave., died at 9:47 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 20, 2001) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Denton retired after nine years at Carriage Place Apartments, Huntington. He had worked for 25 years as a foreman with Worthman Homes, Fort Wayne. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, American Legion Post 7, and Eagles Lodge 823, all of Huntington.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1935, in Rochester, a son of Franklin and Esther Nunemaker Denton. On Dec. 27, 1988, in Mesa, Ariz., he married Esther Adkins, who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Dale E. Denton II, Milwaukee, Wis.; a daughter, Roberta S. Denton, Indianapolis; a stepson, Mike Green, Huntington; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lewie (Lori) Mayo, Huntington, and Kathy Green, McHenry, Ill.; two brothers, Richard Denton and Ralph Dean Denton, both of Huntington; three sisters, Josephine Sands and Frances Miller, both of Huntington; and Velma McCracken, Fort Wayne; six stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Frank L. Denton.
Calling will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bailey-Love Mortuary, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. Brent Birdsall will officiate at the service.
Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery.
William M. Steixner
William M. Steixner, 49,Whitelock Street, died at 4:41 p.m. Monday (Feb. 19, 2001, at Huntington Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Steixner was employed by Our Sunday Visitor and Transwheel, both of Huntington. He was a Vietname War veteran of the 6th Marine Corps, 2nd Division. He has been a resident of Huntington since 1977.
He was born on Oct. 18, 1951, in New York, N.Y., to Fredrick and Margaret Gurish Steixner. His mother survives in Cleveland, Ohio.
Other survivors include a daughter, Julie Hill, Wabash; a brother, Fredrick Steixner, Cleveland, Ohio; a sister, Joanne Tillie, Cleveland, Ohio; a stepson, Kevin McGroder; and one granddaughter.
He also is survived by his companion, Bev Soper, Huntington.
Cremation was held and a memorial service is planned for a future date in Cleveland, Ohio.

Charles Bennett Jr.
Charles Bennett Jr., 83, Linden, died at 5:18 a.m. Monday (Feb. 19, 2001) at St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville.
Mr. Bennett had farmed most of his life, retiring at age 65. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and had served on the board of directors of the Montgomery County Co-Op for 15 years. He was a member of the Linden Methodist Church.
He was born April 2, 1917, in Pueblo, Colo., and moved to the Linden area as a child. He married Frances L. Linderer on Aug. 4, 1940, in Lafayette. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Larry Bennett, Romney; a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Diana) Meier, Huntington; seven grandchildren, a stepgrandchild, and six great-grandchildren.
Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hahn Funeral Home, Linden, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Dennis Zetterberg officiating.
Burial will be at Linden Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Linden United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
Dottie M. Chain
Dottie Mae Chain, 57, Wabash, died at 4:21 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) at MedCentral in Mansfield, Ohio.
Mrs. Chain was a homemaker.
She was born March 25, 1943, in Barbourville, Ky., to Kelly Davis and LaVita Collins. She married Roger Chain on Jan. 4, 1970, in Mississippi. He survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Scott A. Davis, Roanoke, and Charles E. Mofford, Wabash; two daughters, Jena S. Kerr, Roann and Tye Womack, Mansfield, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Velma Carpenter, Bryant, Ohio, and Esther Johnson, Fort Wayne; two brothers, Glenn Davis, Richmond and Billy Davis, Amelia, Ohio; two sisters, Nora Jones, Pensacola, Fla., and Madeline Thomas, Cincinnati, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Main Street Chapel, 86 E. Main St., Wabash, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Cledies Holbrook and Rev. Jason Gross officiating. Burial will be Friday at Davis Cemetery, Barbourville, Ky.

Ray F. Gill
Ray Francis Gill, 89, Franklin, died Sunday (Feb. 18, 2001) at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Johnson County.
Mr. Gill farmed for 36 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Second Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Franklin, where he was a trustee and a member of the Standard Bearers Sunday school class. He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge 107, Franklin Elks Lodge 1818, the Johnson County Farm Bureau, and the Needham Township Advisory Board. He helped organize the Needham Community Volunteer Fire Department and served as its president for eight years.
He was born June 19, 1911, in in Johnson County to David and Rose Anna Cowan Gill. He married the former Ruth Crooke Able on May 9, 1936, in Bloomington. She died Aug. 14, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Roger Gill, Bushnell, Fla., and Lt. Col. Joseph H. Gill, Warren; a daughter, Rev. Alice Goshorn, Franklin; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Eight brothers and four sisters are deceased.
Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Vandiver-Tudor Funeral Home, Franklin, and from 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Wright Memorial Chapel of the Franklin United Methodist Community, Franklin. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wright Memorial Chapel, with Rev., John Eley and Rev. Dennis Patton officiating.
Burial will be at Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Franklin.

Helen I. Riggle
Helen Irene Foudy Riggle,94, Anderson, died Feb. 1, 2001.
Mrs. Riggle had lived in Anderson since 1931. She retired after 27 years of employment with Warner Press, formerly the Gospel Trumpet Co.
She was born April 12, 1906, in Huntington, to Michael and Laura Rosella Smith Foudy.
Survivors include three daughters, Naomi Rhodes, Houston, Texas, Betty O’Dell, Riverside, Texas, and Pippin Sites, Anderson; a son, Chuck Riggle, Anderson; a brother, Fred Foudy, Zanesville; two sisters, Mary Heitz, Wabash, and Alice Foudy, Huntington; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, George Willard Riggle; two brothers, Lawrence Foudy and Dale Foudy; and a grandson.
The Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, Anderson, was in charge of arrangements.
Margery B. Dyer
Margery B. Dyer, 83, died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 17, 2001) at the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren, where she was a resident.
Mrs. Dyer was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a life member of United Methodist Women.
She was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Fulton County, to Kline W. and Addie Belle Campbell Sales. She graduated from Culver High School in 1935. She married Rev. L. Herschel Dyer in Evanston, Ill., on Aug. 10, 1941. Her husband survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Lynn H. Dyer, Indianapolis, and Larry E. Dyer, Mishawaka; a brother, Kenneth P. Sales, Kokomo; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Sales and Genevieve Osborn, and two brothers, George Sales and Robert Sales.
Calling will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. funeral service Tuesday at the United Methodist Memorial Home, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren. Rev. John Wallace will officiate. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Warren.
