Gary J. Follin
Gary J. Follin, 52, 9499W-1100S-35, LaFontaine, died at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday (March 13, 2001) at St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.
Mr. Follin was vice president of finance for Transmission Builders Federal Credit Union, Kokomo. He was a past president of the North Central Indiana Credit Unions and was a member of Etna Acres Golf Course and the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, Marion.
He was a 1966 graduate of Warren High School and served with the Marine Corps in Vietnam, where he was a decorated combat veteran.
He was born May 29, 1948, in Pontiac, Mich., to Joseph L. and Ruth Reid Follin. His marriage was Aug. 25, 1998, in Kokomo, to the former Kathy K. Reed. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Adam J. Follin, LaFontaine; a stepson, Paul J. Stephan, LaFontaine; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Kit (Destiny) Wilburn, Andrews; a grandson; two brothers, Fred T. Follin, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Larry B. Follin, Warren; and two sisters, Mrs. Reggie (Sandra) James, Newnan, Ga., and Mrs. Mike (Carol) Bishop, Quito, Ecuador.
Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the McDonald Funeral Home, 104 S. Main St., LaFontaine. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, Marion, with Rev. Doug Barton officiating.
Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery, LaFontaine.
Preferred memorials are to the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
Margaret L. ‘Midge’ Snider
Margaret L. “Midge” Snider, 77, 953 Polk St., died at 6:39 p.m. Wednesday (March 14, 2001) at Huntington Memorial Hospital. She was a former resident of Detroit, Mich., and Ossian.
Mrs. Snider had been employed by Square D in Huntington for 15 years and Huntington Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a cashier, for 10 years. She attended SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She was a Past Senior Regent of Huntington Women of the Moose Lodge 837 and was a member of American Legion Post 85 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689 Auxiliary. She was a graduate of the Moose College of Regents, the highest award for Women of the Moose.
She was born March 1, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., to Clea and Helen Lahman Botruff. She married Walter James Snider Nov. 23, 1947, in Fort Wayne. Her husband died Nov. 22, 1973.
Survivors include a son, Paul “Butch” Snider, Huntington; a daughter, Mrs. John (Jennifer) Stayton, Plymouth; four sisters, Carolynn Tupiak, Houghton Lake, Mich., Mary Bartholomew, Naples, Fla., Dorothy McPhee, Sebastian, Fla., and Bea Lunetta, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; two brothers, Elmer Botruff, Heartland, Mich., and Clea Botruff, Detroit, Mich.; and two grandchildren.
A daughter, Jeanne Louise Snider, preceded her in death.
Calling is 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, with a Moose College of Regents memorial service at 7 p.m., at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Additional calling will be held from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Saturday at the funeral home. Father Robert Fosselman will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Mausoleum, Fort Wayne.
Preferred memorials are to the choice of the donor.
Lloyd B. Clements
Lloyd B. Clements, 84, Ellenton, Fla., died at 9 a.m. Monday (March 12, 2001) in Sarasota, Fla.
Mr. Clements had been employed by United Technologies in Columbia City, retiring in 1980. He moved to Florida from Warren 10 years ago. He was a graduate of Montpelier High School and a member of the Warren Church of Christ.
He was born June 20, 1916, in Huntington County, to Alva E. Clements and Nellie Watkins Clements. He married Frances Maloney Jan. 9, 1940, in Lagro; his wife survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Al (Judy) Bowman, Ellenton, Fla.; two sisters, Imogene Needler, Hartford City, and Mrs. Henry (Carol) Yencer, Grand Island, Neb.; two grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
Two brothers are deceased.
Calling is 2-3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Stephen Leininger will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery.

Delores Evans
Delores Evans, 85, Marion, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday (March 12, 2001) at the Bradner Village Health Care Center, Marion.
Mrs. Evans and her husband farmed in the Warren area for many years. She had also been employed by Farnsworth Radio, Marion, and retired as the manager of the Lord’s Dress Shop in Huntington. She was a member of the Hillside Wesleyan Church, Marion, and the CPC Sympathy Club. She had lived in Marion since 1954.
She was born May 16, 1915, in Cicero, a daughter of Earl and Lemina Bennett Hall. She married Ernest Evans July 6, 1935; he died Jan. 9, 1989.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Patty) Crago, Huntington, Darlene Hoggatt, Warsaw, and Eda Michaud, Albany, Ga.; a son, George Evans, Marion; a sister, Bessie Hall, Marion; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, a stepgreat-grandson, and two stepgreat-great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Sparks and Anna Frietal; two brothers, Herman Hall and Claude Hall; and a grandson.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. Services will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday, with Rev. Gary Bingham officiating. Burial will be at the Van Buren Cemetery.

Marjorie J. Hubert
Marjorie J. Hubert, 79, died Monday (March 12, 2001) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Hubert had worked for General Electric for 30 years, retiring in 1980.
She was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Bippus, to Dale Close and Canna Pence Close. She married August Hubert, who died in 1993.
Calling is 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, with Pastor Forrest Van Gundy officiating. Entombment will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.

Violet E. Szabo
Violet E. Szabo, 73, Fort Wayne, died Tuesday (March 13, 2001) at the Norwood Nursing Center.
Mrs. Szabo was a member of the Broadway Christian Church, Fort Wayne. She had worked as a laborer in the textile industry for 15 years, retiring in 1989.
She was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Fort Wayne. She married Joseph Szabo, who died in 1956.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Szabo, Fort Wayne; two sons, Joseph Hughes, Fort Wayne, and Danny Hughes, Roanoke; three sisters, Gertrude Jenkins, Lillian Ladig, and Fern Miller, all of Fort Wayne; and seven grandchildren.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home, 1327 Wells St., Fort Wayne, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at the Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
Mary L. Dibert
Mary Louise Harland Dibert, 94, Auburn, died Sunday (March 11, 2001) at Smith Farms in Auburn.
Mrs. Dibert had been a music teacher at various elementary schools in Indiana, including schools in Avilla, LaOtto and Harlan. She had also been the owner of Harland’s Hardware in LaOtto. She was a member of the Huntertown United Methodist Church, the Home Extension Club, and Order of the Eastern Star, Huntertown.
She was born Jan. 20, 1907, in Bippus, to William and Elizabeth Bechtold Wetters. She graduated from Bippus High School in 1924 and Manchester College in 1927. Her first marriage was to Lynn Harland, who died June 4, 1966. Her second marriage was to Ernie Dibert. He died June 2, 2000.
Mrs. Dibert is survived by seven nieces, including LaVonne Haines, Huntington, and several stepchildren.
Two sisters, Ethyl Steffen and Veda Leyman, preceded her in death.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday at the McComb, Dilgard & Cline Funeral Home, 502 N. Main, Auburn. Burial will be at the Huntertown Cemetery.

Lowell D. McDonald
Lowell D. McDonald, 54, a former resident of 750 Webster St., died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday (March 10, 2001) at the Courtland Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne.
Mr. McDonald was born Aug. 5, 1946, in Hartford City, to William and Hazel McDonald.
Survivors include three sons, Michael J. McDonald, Sandusky, Mich., and Mitchell L. McDonald and Shawn A. McDonald, both of Huntington; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Michelle) Johnson, Huntington; three brothers, Wallace McDonald and Noel McDonald, both of Hartford City, and Delano McDonald, Huntington; three sisters, Armella Harness, Huntington, Mrs. Paul (Juanita) Miller, Hartford City, and Mrs. Kenneth (Zola) Weston, Marion; and 11 grandchildren.
He is also survived by a companion, Sarah Denney.
A brother, William McDonald, and a sister, Vivian Fleming, preceded him in death.
Calling will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
