Dean E. Guhl
Dean E. Guhl, 69, 460 Forks of the Wabash Way, died at 8:15 a.m. Thursday (March 22, 2001) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Guhl was a tool and die worker from 1955 to 1989. He co-owned Guhl Machine Shop from 1970 to 1989.
Mr. Guhl was a 1949 graduate of Wabash High School and a
Korean War veteran. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and a trustee.
He was born July 13, 1931, in Huntington, a son of Otto J. and Emma Sunderman Guhl.
Survivors include a son, Tom Guhl, Andrews; three daughters, Deana Dennis, Fort Wayne, Linda Sievers, Bloomington, and Amy Guhl, Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers, Richard Guhl, Decatur, Ill., and James Guhl, Huntington; a sister, Mary Ann Burnworth, Huntington; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Guhl, and a grandson.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Pastor Richard Lofgren will officiate.

Iowa M. Stabler
Iowa M. Stabler, 89, Fort Wayne, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (March 22, 2001) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Stabler was a former resident of Roanoke, where she was a co-owner of the Stabler Drug Store. She attended Seminary United Methodist Church, Roanoke, and was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne.
She was a member of the Roanoke Antiquester Club, the Better Homes Club of Roanoke, the Roanoke Area Heritage Center, and the Roanoke Library Board.
She was born May 11, 1911, in Malcolm, Iowa, a daughter of Arden McCoy and Elizabeth Dravelbes McCoy. She married Charles W. Stabler in October 1932 in Portland; her husband died in 1984.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Welker, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. James (Ann) Crawford, Columbia City; two sisters, Patricia Hargrave, Sunnydale, Calif., and Lucille Bitner, Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Roanoke Memorial Chapel and 1-2 p.m. Monday at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, U.S.-24, Fort Wayne. Services will be held at the church at 2 p.m. Monday, with Rev. Russel Shook officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.

Lloyd B. Clements
Lloyd B. Clements, 84, Ellenton, Fla., a former resident of Warren, died at 9 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2001, in Sarasota, Fla.
Mr. Clements retired from United Technologies, Columbia City, in 1980. He had lived in Ellenton for 10 years. He was a member of the Warren Church of Christ.
He was born June 20, 1916, in Huntington County to Alva E. and Nellie Watkins Clements. He graduated from Montpelier High School. He married Frances Maloney on Jan. 9, 1940, in Lagro. His wife survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Al (Judy) Bowman, Ellenton; two sisters, Imogene Needler, Hartford City, and Mrs. Henry (Carol) Yencer, Grand Island, Neb.; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Calling will be held from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Sunday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. Rev. Charles Dye will officiate.
Burial will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery.

Paul E. Cross
Paul E. Cross, 72, Angola, died Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at his home.
Mr. Cross retired in 1983 from International Harvester, Fort Wayne, where he had worked in 1983. He was the owner of the Pine Haven Motel, Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes, Angola.
He was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Huntington, a son of Harry and Nova Strouse Cross. His first wife, E. Jean Cross, died April 8, 1998. He married Nancy L. Sutton Moody May 29, 1999, in Angola; she survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Alan E. Cross, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Kimberly J. Schreve, Fort Wayne; two stepdaughters, Barbara Pfundstein, Princeton, Ill., and Diane Darragh, Carmel; two brothers, Jack Cross, Greencastle, and James Cross, Kendallville; three sisters, Betty Henderson, Warren, and Patricia Hedrick and Joyce Satterthwaite, both of Huntington.
A daughter, Judy Englert, died in 1987.
Calling hours and services are pending at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola.

Rex E. ‘Bob’ Adams
Rex E. “Bob” Adams, 71, 150 N. Market St., Andrews, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at his home.
Mr. Adams retired as a custodian with Ford Meter Box, Wabash, where he had been employed from 1979-95.
He was born March 24, 1929, in Andrews to Homer and Esther Wise Adams. He married Eva R. Thompson Feb. 24, 1956, in Wabash. His wife survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Deanna Kochensparger, Huntington; two sons, Chris D. Adams, Albuquerque, N.M., and Daniel J. Adams, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Homer Adams Jr., Everett Adams and Dick Adams, and a sister, Thelma Harris.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Andrews Chapel, 233 N. Main St., Andrews, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Paul DeMerchant will officiate. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.
Mary E. Sisson
Mary E. Sisson, 85, of 801 Huntington Ave., Warren, died at 10 a.m. Monday (March 19, 2001) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Bluffton.
Mrs. Sisson, a resident of the United Methodist Memorial Home for the past five years, was a homemaker. She was a member of Floral Chapter 75 Order of Eastern Star, Huntington; the Wayne Township Home Economics Club; the Neighborhood Club; and the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church. She played the organ for many years at the church.
Formerly of Converse, she had moved to the Warren area in 1952. She was a 1934 graduate of Jefferson Township High School, Miami County.
She was born on March 4, 1916, in Amboy, to Arthur Henry and Ida Alice Resler Stites. On Jan. 1, 1939, in Converse, she married Victor L. Sisson. He died on April 6, 1976.
Survivors include a son, Rex Sisson, Warren; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, Max Sisson; and two brothers, Harry Stites and Ralph Stites.
Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Glancy Funeral Home, H. Brown & Son Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. Pastor Tim Prowse will officiate at he service.
Burial will be at the Converse I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Ellen A. Woodward
Ellen A. Woodward, 83, of 280 W. Sparks St., Markle, died at 7 a.m. today (March 20, 2001) at Markle Health Care, Markle.
Mrs. Woodward worked as a certified dental assistant for Emory Bryan Jr., DDS, Fort Wayne, for 13 years, retiring in 1980. She was a 1935 graduate of East Union High School, Wells County, and attended a two-year course at Purdue University. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ. She also was a volunteer for Golden Years Homestead and Inner City Mission, both in Fort Wayne, and volunteered at Markle Health Care.
She was born on April 16, 1917, in Huntington County, to Paul and Jessie Fisher Goodale. On Dec. 31, 1937, in Peru, she married John L. Woodward. He survives in Markle.
Other survivors include a son, Paul W. Woodward, Springfield, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Kathryn) Schwartz, Huntington; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Goodale; and a sister, Esther Whitlock.
Calling will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle, and one hour before the 10 a.m. Thursday services at the Markle Church of Christ, 445 E. Morse St., Markle. Rev. Gerald Moreland will officiate at the service.
Burial will be at the Markle Cemetery, Markle.
