Esther M. Foust
Esther Mae Foust, 86, a resident of the Markle Health Care Center, Markle, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday (March 29, 2001) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Bluffton.
Mrs. Foust, a lifetime resident of Huntington County, was the former owner of the Country Beauty Shop. She retired in 1991 after working as a beautician for more than 56 years. She was a member of the Loon Creek Church of the Brethren and Order of the Eastern Star, Markle Chapter. She graduated from East Union School in Wells County in 1932 and also graduated from Betty Jean Beauty College in Fort Wayne.
She was born Dec. 17, 1914, in Wabash County to F. A. and Hazel Mae Byrd Thomas. She married Walter Foust in Markle on March 1, 1937. Her husband died Aug. 25, 1965.
Survivors include two sons, Lynn Foust, Niles, Mich., and Mark Foust, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Diane Lahr, Huntington; a sister, June Coffield Schell, Bluffton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Cone; and a grandson.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Richard Stiver will officiate. Burial will be at the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.

Raymond A. Perdue
Raymond A. Perdue, 86, Marion, died Wednesday (March 28, 2001) at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Perdue retired as a foreman in the construction industry in 1980 and had been a lifetime member of the Carpenter Union. He had lived in Marion most of his life and was an active member of the Christland Church, Marion.
He was born Dec. 15, 1914, in Wells County to Carl and Leila Beavans Perdue. He married Ruth Pfeiffer on Sept. 19, 1937. His wife survives.
Also surviving are a son, William R. Perdue, Banquo; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Judith) Whitehurst, Dumfries, Va.; a sister, Esther Harris, Marion; and four grandchildren.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Irvin Behm will officiate. Burial will be at the Grant Memorial Park, Marion.

Ruby M. Raber
Ruby M. Raber, 80, Avilla, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday (March 27, 2001) at her home.
Mrs. Raber was a 1938 graduate of Chester High School, North Manchester. She was a homemaker, and had lived in Kendallville and Bippus.
She was born July 25, 1920, in Wabash County, a daughter of Walter Biehl and Dora Rupley. She married Glenn E. Raber Nov. 25, 1939, in North Manchester; her husband died Feb. 11, 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Beverly) Gerber, Kendallville; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Audra M. Koch and Donita Marie Biehl.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, 222 S. State St., Kendallville,where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Rev. James Toole will officiate. Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American heart Association.
Lenora M. Thompson
Lenora Mae Thompson, 85, died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday (March 28, 2001) at the University Nursing Center, Upland, where she was a resident.
Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and attended the Upland Friends Church, Upland.
She was born June 6, 1915, in West Virginia to Jack and Mary Etta Christian Davis. She married Charles “Ned” Thompson in Wayne, W.Va., on March 31, 1934. Her husband died Jan. 12, 1973.
Survivors include two sons, Charles “Bud” Thompson, West Virginia, and Fred A. Thompson, Milton, Fla.; a daughter, Jewell Ann Short, Las Cruces, N.M.; three brothers, Roy A. Davis, Kenova, W.Va., John W. Davis, Huntington, W.Va., and John W. Davis, Point Pleasant, W.Va.; a sister, Ruth Mayberry, Pittman, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen, Manchester Avenue Chapel, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Pastor Douglas K. Phillips will officiate. Burial will be at the Center Grove Cemetery, Lincolnville.
Sister Frances Meyer
Sister Frances Meyer, 96, died Wednesday morning (March 28, 2001) at Holy Family Health Care Center, Victory Noll.
She was a member of the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters, entering the congregation on Feb. 5, 1927, and making her first vows March 25, 1929. She ministered in New Mexico, Utah, California, and Texas, returning to Victory Noll in 1987.
She was born Oct. 9, 1904, in California, Ohio, a daughter of Frank A. and Agnes Koehler Meyer.
She is survived by a sister, Sister Mary Laetitia Meyer, O.S.F., Oldenburg.
A brother and a sister are deceased.
A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Victory Noll Chapel, with calling before the wake. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Victory Noll Chapel, with Father Thomas Fahey officiating. Burial will be at the Victory Noll Cemetery.

Frederic E. Divelbiss
Frederic E. Divelbiss, 88, a resident of the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren, died there at 9:15 a.m. Saturday (March 24, 2001). He was a former resident of 54 W. High St.
Mr. Divelbiss was a tool and die maker for General Electric for 31 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. He was a 1932 graduate of Markle High School. He was a member of the Amity Lodge 483 F & AM, the Scottish Rite Valley, Fort Wayne, and served in DeMolay for 20 years at both the county and state levels.
He was born July 19, 1912, in Huntington County to Harry and Elsie Elick Divelbiss. His marriage was Nov. 2, 1934, in Markle, to Olive J. Pence. His wife died Oct. 15, 1985.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald E. Divelbiss, Leo, and Steven F. Divelbiss, Huntington; a sister, Mrs. George (Leah) Gearhart, Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Masonic services will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Steven N. Ailes officiating.
Interment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the donor’s choice, in care of the Myers Funeral Home.
Cleo S. Harrold
Cleo S. Harrold, 74, Montpelier, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday (March 23, 2001) at his residence.
Mr. Harrold was a police officer, including service as police chief of Montpelier. He was also a fireman, including service as the fire chief of Montpelier. He had also been the Eaton Town Marshal and a Delaware County Deputy Sheriff. He was director of civil defense of Blackford County, as served two terms as treasurer of the Indiana Civil Defense. In 1996 he was named Volunteer of the Year in Montpelier. He attended the First Baptist Church of Montpelier. He was a 1944 graduate of Chester Center High School.
He was born April 11, 1926 in Roll, the son of Sherman and Victoria Drabenstott Harrold. His marriage was Aug. 23, 1944 in Hartford City to Betty Roberts. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, David Harrold and Donnie Harrold, both of Montpelier, and Michael Harrold, Augusta, Ga.; three daughters, Mrs. William (Connie) Wyatt, Warren; Candy Irelan, Montpelier; and Mrs. Todd (Betty) Shady, Bluffton; 24 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death were two sons, Daniel Harrold and Dennis Steven Harrold; a daughter, Sandra Harrold; two brothers, Burr and Francis Harrold; a sister, Vesta Gibson; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Frank Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Montpelier.
Preferred memorials are to either the Montpelier Fire Department or the Blackford County Civil Defense.
Pat R. Monroe
Pat R. Monroe, 79, Mattoon, Ill., died at 7:25 a.m. Saturday (March 24, 2001) in the Odd Fellows-Rebekah Home, Mattoon.
Mr. Monroe was a retired electrical engineer for CIPS, working in Mattoon for 35 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the 83rd Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in Mattoon. He organized and was program director of the Junior Achievement Club, Mattoon. He was also a member of the Danville, Ill., Consistory.
He was born Oct. 19, 1921 in Newton, Kan., to William Patrick and Katherine Minniear Monroe. His marriage was Aug. 30, 1948, in Huntington to Dorothy M. Morris. His wife survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Kaye) Cooper, Johnson City, Ill., and Mrs. Keith (Patsy) Gaston, Brownsburg; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
A brother preceded him in death.
Private family services will be held in Indianapolis at a later date. Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
