William R. Jamison
William R. Jamison, 101, a resident of Orange, Calif., and formerly of Huntington, died Aug. 19, 2000, at Verdugo Hills Hospital, Glendale, Calif.
Mr. Jamison retired Oct. 29, 1964, as a passenger conductor with the Erie Railroad. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Orange, Calif. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, the Scottish Rite and the Shrine Temple.
He was born Nov. 10, 1898, in Huntington to William V. and Ella Snyder Jamison. He married Hazel Yahne Oct. 29, 1925, in Huntington. His wife died Aug. 31, 1977.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Graveside services were held Aug. 26 in Tustin, Calif.

John T. Langel
John T. Langel, 79, Liberty Center, died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 24, 2000) at the Meadowvale Care Center, Bluffton.
Mr. Langel was a farmer in Harrison Township and a lifelong Wells County resident. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps.
He was born on Oct. 12, 1920, in Wells County to Theodore M. and Bessie Inskeep Langel. On Jan. 7, 1950, in Ossian, he married Mona Ilene Yarger, who died on June 14, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, John “Jay” Langel and L. Joe Langel, both of Bluffton; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Dunahoo, Bluffton; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
No calling and no services will be held.
Burial will be at the Horeb Cemetery, Uniondale.
Preferred memorials are to the Wells County Emergency Medical Service.

Raymond G. Leonhardt
Raymond G. Leonhardt, 92, died at 3:10 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 24, 2000) at the Norwood Nursing Center, where he had been a resident. He was formerly of Lagro.
Mr. Leonhardt was a custodian for the Huntington County School Corporation for 45 years, working at Bippus and Northwest schools.
He was born June 1, 1908, in Bippus to Elmer and Lula Grube Leonhardt. He married Martha Hauenstein, who preceded him in death March 7, 1971.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Leonhardt and Paul Leonhardt, both of Lagro; a daughter, Kay Hoch, Fort Wayne; a brother, Howard Fults, Tulare, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donavon Leonhardt, Herbert Leonhardt and Kenneth Leonhardt; and a granddaughter.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Funk Cemetery, Bippus, with Rev. Ray Davis officiating. Burial will follow.

Frances E. Buckner
Frances E. Buckner, 85, 5518N-376W, died Thursday (Aug. 17, 2000) at her home.
Mrs. Buckner had been a teacher for 30 years, teaching in Chester Center, Wells County; Montpelier, Blackford County; and Huntington County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Huntington.
She was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Southern Wells County to Alpha and Anna Ester Schooley Nusbaumer. She graduated from Chester Center High School and attended Ball State University. She married Ralph W. Buckner Dec. 23, 1950, at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington. Her husband died July 29, 1988.
She is survived by a daughter, Betsy Ann Buckner of Rockville.
There will be no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery
with Rev. Frank Gready officiating. Burial will follow.

William G. 'Bill' Gretzinger
William G. "Bill" Gretzinger, 84, Gas City, died at 1:28 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 22, 2000) at Marion General Hospital, Marion.
Mr. Gretzinger retired from Glass Containers, Gas City, in 1978 after 22 years of service. He had been a resident of the Grant County area since 1940 and attended the Swayzee Church of the Nazarene.
He was born June 24, 1916, in Andrews to Joseph and Cora Adams Gretzinger. He married Cynda Brown Nov. 26, 1968. His wife survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jerald (Gloria) Greentree, Jonesboro; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Gretzinger and James Gretzinger; and two sisters, Mary Beatty and Mildred Ziegler.
Calling is from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday at the Needham-Storey Funeral Home, 400 E. Main St., Gas City. Rev. Dan Heincker will officiate. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.

Lori L. Johnson
Lori Leigh Johnson, 36, 588 Hitzfield St., died at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 23, 2000) at Huntington Memorial Hospital.
She had formerly been employed by Sulky Restaurant and Pyle Manufacturing. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Huntington.
She was born April 11, 1964, in Fort Wayne to Robert LeMoine and Rilla Sue Crabbs Johnson.
She is survived by a daughter, Jamie Leigh Johnson of Huntington; and two sisters, Dawn E. Johnson, Columbia City and Heather M. Johnson, Auburn.
Calling will be held from 10 a.m. until the noon funeral service Friday at the Hart Funeral Home.

Josephine H. Kriegbaum
Josephine H. Kriegbaum, 90, a resident of Covington Manor Nursing Center, Fort Wayne, died at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 22, 2000) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was a former resident of Huntington and Vero Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Kriegbaum taught business administration at Huntington Township High School and had previously taught in Hamilton County. She was a 64-year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington where she served as an elder, deacon, Bible school teacher and an officer of the Women's Association. She was a 50-year member of the Froebel Club, the Indiana Sorosis Club and Order of Eastern Star Floral Chapter 75, all of Huntington. She was also a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority and P.E.O. Sisterhood. She served as a member and officer of the Huntington Council of Women, the Salvation Army advisory board and the Pathfinder Services board. She had been a Girl Scout leader and a counselor at the YMCA's Camp Dick Runyan. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1928 and Ball State University in 1931, earning a degree in business and physical education. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority, the Commerce Club and the Women's Athletic Association while a student at Ball State.
She was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Jefferson Township, Huntington County, to Todd Everett and Clara Edna Ellis Hawkins. She married Howard E. Kriegbaum Oct. 16, 1935, at the First Presbyterian Church in Huntington. Her husband died June 28, 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Jo Ann) Woodward of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Thomas (Carol) Butler of Hinsdale, Ill.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Two sisters, Elizabeth Dunbar and Florence Hawkins, preceded her in death.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service Saturday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Pastor Arnold Piering will officiate. Burial will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Ottomar W. Winkelman
Ottomar William Winkelman, 93, 1071 Zahn St., died at 4:22 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 23, 2000) at Miller's Merry Manor.
Mr. Winkelman, a lifetime resident of Huntington, retired as a printer with Our Sunday Visitor in 1972. He had formerly worked for Orton Crane and the Farmer's Guide. He was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
He was born Jan. 19, 1907, in Huntington County to Frederick C. and Marie A. Starke Winkelman. He married Mildred Elizabeth Peting Sept. 3, 1932, at St. Peter Lutheran Church. His wife survives.
Also surviving are six sons, John Winkelman of Kent City, Mich., David Winkelman and Richard Winkelman of Huntington, Paul Winkelman of Rosholt, Wis., Carl Winkelman of Amherst, Wis., and Daniel Winkelman of Stevens Point, Wis.; three daughters, Mrs. Roger (Judith) Turgeson and Mrs. Paul (Susan) Kellam of Huntington and Doris Laughlin of Sterling, Va.; a brother, Fred C. Winkelman of Huntington; two sisters, Lydia Starke of Ovieda, Fla., and Mary Louise Gambrell of Coupeville, Wash.; 34 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Marguerite Stensel, preceded him in death.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, with calling one hour prior to services, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 605 Polk St. Rev. Allen T. Goebbert will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
