Victoria M. Dwornicki
Victoria M. Dwornicki, 81, 5707W Maple Grove Rd., Apt. 2806, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 4, 2000) at her home.
Mrs. Dwornicki was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She had been employed by Memcor, retiring in 1978.
She was born Sept. 1, 1919, in Nanticoke, Pa., to Andrew and Emma Butchko Manosky. She married Marcel John Dwornicki Jan. 10, 1942. He died on Aug. 21, 1988.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. William (Sandra M.) Milner, Huntington, Mrs. Gary (Norma Jean) Eberhart, Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Douglas (Andrea) Chapman, Fort Wayne; a sister, Helen Hassara, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; three brothers, Andrew Manosky, Nanticoke, Pa., John Manosky, Huntington, and Thomas Manosky, Jacksonville, N.C.; six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Two sisters and a brother are deceased.
Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hart Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Father John Guimond officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Harry E. Eltzroth
Harry E. Eltzroth, 76, died at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 4, 2000) at Miller’s Merry Manor, where he had lived since 1994.
Mr. Eltzroth had worked at the Carl I. Smith Lumber Company in Plum Tree. He served in the Army during World War II and was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689 and the American Legion Post in Warren. He attended the Warren Church of Christ.
He was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to Ora B. and Nettie Day Eltzroth. He graduated from Warren High School in 1942.
Survivors include four sons, Roger Yeiter and Gary Eltzroth, both of Huntington, Ed Eltzroth of Warren and Terry Eltzroth of Liberty Center; six daughters, Brenda Barton of Oxford, Ala., Mrs. Mike (Pam) Koons and Mary Bustos, both of Bluffton, Rhonda Eltzroth of Andrews, Mrs. Larry (Sondra) Scheiber of Huntington, and Mrs. Jim (Susan) Martin of Warren; a brother, Ralph Eltzroth of Warren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Mary) Barnes and Mrs. Arnold (Marie) Frickie, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling is from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Arley Higgenbotham will officiate.
Burial will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery.

Richard A. Hall
Richard A. “Dick” Hall, 76, 639 E. Third St., Warren, died at his home at 7:51 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2000).
Mr. Hall was the former owner of Rainbow Lanes in Huntington. He was retired from E-Systems Memcor Division (Raytheon Systems), where he had worked as a quality manager. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, Huntington, and American Legion Post 160, Roanoke. He attended Huntington Township High School.
He was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Grant County to Clyde B. and Fairie McFarland Hall. He married Lois Paxton on Feb. 7, 1993, in Warren. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Rick Hall, Florida; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Wolf, Huntington; three stepsons, Mike Trout, St. Petersburg, Fla., Mark Trout, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Mitch Trout, Warren; a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Maxine) Vogel, Marion; three brothers, Doyle Hall, Logansport, Jim Hall, Warren, and Dean Hall, Huntington; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Rev. Reece Bookout officiating.
Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Dr. L. G. Sapp
Dr. L. G. Sapp, 87, a resident of the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren, died at the home at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2000).
Dr. Sapp was a United Methodist minister, serving in the North Indiana Conference for 42 years until retiring to Fort Valley, Ga., in 1978. He served churches in Fort Wayne, Butler, Angola, Charlottesville, Bluffton, Huntington, Forest Park, New Castle, Marion, and Simpson. He was also active in church missions, visiting Liberia, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Zaire, South Africa, Honduras, and Haiti.
He was a district superintendent of the United Methodist Church, serving the Richmond and Marion districts in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and was a former chairman of the board of Epworth Forest. He served on many boards in the North Indiana Conference, including the board of the ministry and board of education. He was conference missionary secretary and served as a delegate to the general and jurisdictional conferences and the World Methodist Council.
Dr. Sapp was a graduate of Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky., and Garrett Seminary. He also received an honorary doctorate of divinity from Indiana Central University.
He was born Oct. 21, 1912, in Owensboro, Ky., a son of Parvin and Katura May Sapp. He married the former Emily Elizabeth Duke, who survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Wesley Duke Sapp, Fishers, and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia May Sapp.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Applegate Chapel of the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren, with calling in the chapel after the service. Rev. Gary Forbes and Rev. Charles Elam will officiate.
Another memorial service will be held later in Fort Valley, Ga.
Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Fort Valley, Ga.

Berneil E. Amstutz
Berneil E. Amstutz, 89, 613 Seminary St., Roanoke, died at 8:09 a.m. Monday (Oct. 2, 2000) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Amstutz was employed as a secretary in the finance office of General Electric, Fort Wayne, and was an organist for Seminary United Methodist Church, Roanoke, for 37 years. She was a member of Seminary United Methodist Church and the Trillium Garden Club of Fort Wayne.
She was born Sept. 23, 1914, in Wells County, a daughter of Earl and Clara Miller French. She married Harold Amstutz May 18, 1946, in Roanoke; her husband survives.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Vughn French, Austin, Tex., and Roger French, Fort Wayne.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Roanoke Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Seminary United Methodist Church, 285 N. Seminary St., Roanoke. Pastor Martha Troyan Lyon will officiate. Entombment will be at the Greenlawn Mausoleum, Fort Wayne.
Raymond Forsthoffer
Raymond Charles Forsthoffer, 60, Wabash, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2000) at his home.
Mr. Forsthoffer was an Air Force veteran who worked at AL-FE Heat Treating Inc. in Wabash. He also worked for many years at the Majestic Co. in Huntington. His hobbies included Harley-Davidson motorcycles and golf.
Mr. Forsthoffer was born April 30, 1940, in Middlesex County, N.J., to Charles and Anna Forsthoffer.
Survivors include a daughter, Corina Amable, Fremont, Calif.; three grandchildren; a sister, Carol Osowski, New Jersey; and a brother, Louis Forsthoffer, New Jersey.
Calling will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the Manchester Avenue Chapel of the Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Home, 1177 Manchester Ave., Wabash. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Dane Mathews officiating.
Veronica A. Kastner
Veronica A. Kastner, 91, a former resident of Huntington, died at 10:15 a.m. Friday (Sept. 29, 2000) at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne.
Ms. Kastner was a nurse in the office of Dr. J. B. Eviston for 47 years, prior to her retirement in 1984. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the parish’s Rosary Society.
Ms. Kastner was born Oct. 30, 1908, in Huntington, to William and Matilda Keefer Kastner.
Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. Lawrence (Ann) Scher, Huntington, Mrs. Raymond (Rose Marie) Fearnow, Columbia City, and Mrs. Carl (Rita) Chalk, Columbia City. A sister, Mary Masbaum, and three brothers, Marcellus Kastner, Raymond Kastner, and Paul Kastner, preceded her in death.
Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Hart Funeral Home. Additional calling will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are in the form of Masses to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Joan D. Meyer
Joan D. Meyer, 72, North Manchester, died at 11:35 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 30, 2000) at the Timbercrest Health Care Center in North Manchester.
Mrs. Meyer had worked as a bookkeeper for the Warner Corporation in North Manchester for 26 years and had also been the assistant postmistress in Liberty Mills. She was a member of the Liberty Mills United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer, and a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, serving as state president from 1986-87.
She was born June 19, 1928, in Huntington to Harvey and Irene Brechner Swineheart. She married Robert Meyer Aug. 23, 1946, in Huntington. Her husband died April 10, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Steven Meyer of North Manchester; a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Carole) Fraley of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, two great-granddaughters and one stepgreat-grandson.
A brother, Pete Strodel, preceded her in death.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Liberty Mills United Methodist Church with Pastor Ed French officiating.
Burial will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
