Kenneth Basinger
Kenneth A. Basinger, 75, of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Regina Continuing Care Center of cancer.
He retired from Norman Levy & Co. He was a World War II Merchant Marine veteran and a member of Epworth Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sisters, Mary Wessels and Helen Gregg, both of Evansville, and Geneva Joseph of Peoria, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park, with military rites.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Elsie Gasaway
TENNY-SON - Elsie Gasaway, 88, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Southwind Healthcare in Boonville. She was a cook at Gen- tryville School during the 1960s and was the oldest member of Little Pigeon Primitive Baptist Church in Lincoln City.
Surviving are two sons, Wilburn "Dubby" and John, both of Tennyson; three grandchildren, Jeff, Andy and Jessica Gasaway; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Gasaway, in 1980.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel, with burial in Skelton Cemetery
near Tennyson.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
Stephen Burnham
BOONVILLE - Stephen G. Burnham, 66, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at his home of cancer.
He owned and operated Tuned Pipe Windchimes and worked on his Lumina Lightshow for more than 25 years.
Surviving are four daughters, Megan Corn of Boonville, Margaret Burnham of Chandler and Laura Storm and Karen Peterson, both of Seattle; two sons, Geoffrey and Stephen Jr., both of Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister; a brother; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
There will be no services or visitation at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel.
Erma Harbison
WINSLOW - Erma R. (Reith) Harbison, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper of apparent heart failure.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Hensley of Winslow and Roberta Hammonds of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Zelda Papa; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Harbison, in 1978; and a daughter, Rebecca D. Solomon.
Services are pending at Sawicki-Yanico Funeral Home in Russellton, Pa., with burial in Bull Creek Cemetery
in Russellton.
Kenneth Richardson
OAKLAND CITY - Kenneth O. Richardson, 87, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
He retired from Old Ben Coal Co. and had operated a dairy and lumber company with his brothers, Glenn, and the late Fred and L.D Richardson.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, June (Yeager); two daughters, Janis Mason of Boerne, Texas, and Kathryn Novak of Mundelein, Ill.; a son, Wayne of Oakland City; a brother, Glenn of Oakland City; three sisters, Jewel Barnes and Eloise Richardson, both of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Wanda Shaw of Speedway; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be private. There will be no visitation at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
Melvin Brinkman
LAMAR - Melvin W. Brinkman, 65, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at his home of apparent heart failure.
He retired from Whirlpool Corp. after 33 years and was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are a brother, Donald of Chandler; and two nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Youngblood Funeral Home in Chrisney, with burial in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Phillip 'Eddie'Hunt Jr.
CHAND-LER - Phillip "Eddie" Hunt Jr., 49, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at his home of can- cer. He was the former owner of Tri-County Microwave Satellite and Multi-Media Services.
He was a member of Christian Development Center.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Hunt; three daughters, Camerin, Caitlin and Cayla, all of Chandler; and his parents, Phillip and Dorothy Hunt of Owensville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Krystal Hunt, in 1988.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Christian Center, the Rev. Jerry Daniels officiating, with burial in Maumee Cemetery
in Johnson, Ind.

Ruth Ann Cunningham
TELL CITY - Ruth Ann Cunningham, 60, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County in Paoli of a heart attack. She was an X-ray technician at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Evanston.
Surviving are a son, Carl J. of Tell City; and a sister, Norma Marshall of Lanesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Arthur "Bud" Cunningham, in 1998.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST at St. John's Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.

Robert Deffendall
PETERSBURG - Robert L. Deffendall, 71, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes of heart failure.
He was a railroader for Conrail. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and was president of the Bird Hunters' Club.
He enjoyed quail hunting, harness and car racing and Indiana University basketball.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Walton); two sons, Mick of Petersburg and Nick of Francisco; his mother, Helen Higginbotham Deffendall Cundiff of Princeton; two sisters, Shirley Miller and Marilyn Morton, both of Petersburg; three brothers, Aumurul Butrum of Florida, Dick Butrum of Marengo and John Elmer Butrum of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Jo Ann Robling and Sara, Jackson, Jamie and Asa Deffendall; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Deffendall.
Services will be at 1 p.m. EST Sunday at Harris Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Hills Cemetery.

Lois Reed
POSEYVILLE - Lois M. (Jordan) Reed, 67, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of a pulmonary embolism.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Reed of Evansville; three sons, Robert and Kevin, both of Boonville and Stephen of Oakland City; three sisters, Carol Simpson of Yuma, Ariz., Jane Dunkerson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Peggy Dike of Owensville; and a brother, Tom Jordan of Burbank, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Reed, in 1979.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Holder Funeral Home in Owensville, with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery
near Griffin.
