Edna U. Forrest
Edna U. Forrest, 84, Elkhart, died at 5:47 a.m. June 23, 2000, at Elkhart General Hospital.
Mrs. Forrest retired in 1986 from Kmart in Elkhart. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Elkhart.
She was born March 1, 1916, in Wabash County, to Pete and Katie Conrad Urschel. Her first marriage was to Ernest Harrell in Wabash County in 1934. He died in 1940. Her second marriage was to William Forrest on June 10, 1950. He died Feb. 13, 1979.
Survivors include a son, Larry G. Harrell, Elkhart; three sisters, Mrs. Herman (Josephine) Welch, Bippus, Mrs. Oakley (Frances) Wineke, Fort Wayne, and Lois Urschel, Huntington; two brothers, Ernest Urschel, Huntington, and Wilber Urschel, Andrews; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Jester, Edith Gemmer, and Mary Sell, and a brother, Howard Urschel.
Burial was at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart, was in charge of arrangements.

Earl E. Hall
Earl E. Hall, 67, 9230W-900S-35, LaFontaine, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 1, 2000) at his home.
Mr. Hall worked 37 years as a forklift driver at RCA in Marion, retiring in 1989. He graduated from Banquo High School in 1951 and served in the National Guard.
He was born June 14, 1933, in Wayne Township, to Charles W. and Martha Inez Sirk Hall.
Surviving are three sisters, Evelyn Ann Owen, Granger, Mrs. Raymond (Esther) Terrel, Urbana, and Mrs. Willetta Hall, Wabash.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph F. Hall, Dale D. Hall, and Arthur V. Hall.
Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the McDonald Funeral Home, 104 S. Main St., LaFontaine. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Banquo Christian Church with Pastor Gary Riley and Dr. Jim Blanchard officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to the Banquo Christian Church.
Canda L. Moore
Canda L. Moore, 52, French Lick, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 2, 2000) at her home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Moore had been a teacher at Huntington Township School. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Jasper and was a former resident of Van Buren.
She was born July 5, 1948, in Huntington to Dean and Wilma Hatcher Shafer. She married Tom Moore on Aug. 21, 1971, in Warren. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kristen Kearby and Rena Moore, both of French Lick; a brother, Kent Shafer of Marion; and two grandchildren.
A brother, Gary Shafer, preceded her in death.
Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday at the Fellowship Baptist Church on U.S.-231, north of Jasper. Rev. Gerald Dooley will officiate.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.

Ada M. McComb
Ada Mae McComb, 79, Ocala, Fla., and formerly of Huntington, died at 11:35 p.m. Monday (July 31, 2000) at Munroe Regional Hospital, Ocala.
Mrs. McComb was a member of the First Christian Church of Ocala. She and her husband owned and operated McComb’s Party and Card Center at Southgate Shopping Center in Fort Wayne during the 1960s and at Huntington Plaza. She had also been a resident of Fort Wayne and Lafayette.
She was born Feb. 23, 1921. She married Walter Frank McComb, who preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1999.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis McComb of Marietta, Ga., and Richard McComb of Canton, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Janet Bardonner of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Louise Shaff of Lafayette; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
Calling is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 N. 9th St., Lafayette, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Mark Hetrick officiating. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
John C. Meyler
John C. Meyler, 38, 705 E. State St., died at 7 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 2, 2000) at his home.
Mr. Meyler was employed by National Tube Form, Fort Wayne, and had formerly been employed at MagneTek in Huntington. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a 1980 graduate of Huntington North High School.
He was born March 2, 1962, in Huntington to Charles J. and Shari Pinkerton Meyler. His father survives and lives in Huntington. His mother and stepfather, Shari and Berry Smith, survive in Huntington.
He is also survived by a half-sister, Mrs. Larry (Kim) Asher of Huntington.
Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Elzie Spencer will officiate.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Robert M. Williamson
Robert M. Williamson, 53, 286 Posey Hill, Roanoke, died at 3 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 2, 2000) in a traffic accident in LaPorte County.
Mr. Williamson was a truck driver for Shaw Industries Inc., based in Bensenville, Ill. He had formerly been employed as a driver for North American Van Lines for 25 years. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietname War. He was a former resident of Lexington, Va.
He was born June 24, 1947, in Pikeville, Ky., to Russell D. and Mary Elizabeth Coates Williamson. His parents survive and live in Bera, Ky. He married Babette Miller Nov. 22, 1982, in Lexington, Va. She survives.
Also surviving are three brothers, R. Patrick Williamson of Winchester, Va., Roger Williamson of Clinton, N.C., and Kevin Williamson of Richmond, Va.; and two sisters, Mrs. William (Betty) Leskovec of Ashland, Ky., and Mrs. Dennis (Karen) Williamson-Michiel of Funkstown, Md.
Calling is from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the Roanoke Memorial Chapel, 240 Crestwood Dr., Roanoke, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.
military graveside services will be conducted at the Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke, by American Legion Post 160, Roanoke.

Louise Aleman
Louise Aleman, 82, 244E-800S, Warren, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 1, 2000) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Aleman was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Grayling, Mich., and had been employed by the Lincoln/Mercury Factory in Grayling. She moved to the Warren area three years ago from Grayling.
She was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Streater, Ill., a daughter of Joseph Spisak and Anna Surday Spisak.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Arthur, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. James (Ann) Redman, Slidell, La.; a son, John Aleman, Warren; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Calling is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. brown and Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday, with Father Robert Moran officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.

Grace Yates
Grace McCormick Yates, 84, Jonesboro, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday (July 31, 2000) at the Extended Care Facility, Marion.
Mrs. Yates attended Jonesboro and Gas City schools and was a member of the Baptist Church in Gas City. She retired in 1974 from Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Gas City, where she had worked for 31 years.
She was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Bluffton, a daughter of Roy McCormick and Bessie Alice Yates McCormick. Her first marriage was to James Sutton, who died in 1980. Her second marriage was on March 15, 1983, in Montpelier, to William L. Yates; he survives.
Additional survivors include a brother, Charles McCormick, Interlochen, Fla.; and two sisters, Ruth Burkholder, Wabash, and Dorothy Vickers, Marion.
Calling is 1-4 p.m. Friday at Glancy Funeral Homes, Walker Chapel, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier. Services will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Friday, with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Memorial Park, Montpelier.
