Andrew Wellmeyer Sr.
HUNTINGBURG - Andrew Harold Wellmeyer Sr., 75, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at his home of pancreatic cancer.
He gradu- ated from Huntingburg High School and Purdue University's agriculture short course.
He was a dairy farmer for 40 years and became a basketmaker after his retirement in 1988, making 4,649 baskets that were given as gifts and sold at craft shows, the French Lick Hotel and the Spring Mill Inn Gift Shop.
He was an Army veteran, serving in Europe from 1944 to 1946.
He served as a 4-H leader for 24 years and served on the Dubois County 4-H Council for 10 years. He was a member of Huntingburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2366, the Indiana Basketmakers and Huntingburg United Methodist Church, where he was an usher, Mennonite Youth Fellowship leader and past Methodist Men's President.
He was the first recipient to be awarded the Jaycee Outstanding Young Farmer Award in April 1955.
Ruth Fulkerson
Ruth Ann (Meurer) Fulkerson, 82, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital. She was a member of the Elberfeld American Legion 351 Auxiliary, Eagles Post 427 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114 Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Thomas Fulkerson; a daughter, Cherie Mangler of Boise, Idaho; and a niece.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Fairmont Cemetery
in Huntingburg, the Rev. Jack Ulrich officiating.
Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel.
Ann Hilbert
Ann C. Hilbert, 92, of Newburgh, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Angel River Health and Rehabilitation Center of peritonitis. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Blandford of Evansville; a son, Jack of Granada Hills, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Michael and Patrick Blandford and Casey and Caitlin Hilbert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Hilbert, in 1996.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. Raymond Kuper officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Chester Norman
Chester C. Norman, 75, of Taylorsville, Ind., formerly of Evansville, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Indianapo- lis of heart failure resulting from circulatory and heart disease.
He retired as an assembly line worker for Wilson Fiberfill in Evansville in 1989 after 23 years.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of United Auto Workers Local 2074, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1114 and the Westside Sportsman's Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Sandefur of Elberfeld, Ind., and Kari Brodeur of Evansville; five sisters, Janetta Gaskins of Taylorsville, Ind., Nina Burton of Edinburgh, Ind., Nan Cox and Norma Burton, both of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Nancy Aldridge of Columbia, Ky.; two brothers, Lester of Evansville; seven grandchildren, Bambi Juarez, Kieta Hollingsworth, Heather and Megan Morrison and Matthew, Chance and Karrisa Brodeur; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, the Rev. Joe Smith officiating, with entombment in the cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to service time at the chapel.

Eddie Banks
Eddie Lee Banks, 61, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at his home of a stroke.
He was a Catholic.
Surviving is a friend and caretaker, JoAnn Litrell of Evansville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery

Johnny Baughn
Johnny W. Baughn, 67, of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at his home of cancer. Surviving are two daughters, Angila La'Dean White of Utica, Ky., and Mary Ann Sherman of Evansville; six sons, Terry Ray Baughn of Hartford, Ky., Daniel Baughn and Gray and Michael R. Combs, all of Evansville, Steven Combs of Mount Vernon, Ind., and William Combs of Seymour, Ind.; 25 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Patsy J. Baughn; a daughter, Teresa M. Cosby; and a son, Samuel C. Combs.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. David Schwambach officiating.

Lola Barton
Lola Barton, 81, of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Woodbridge Healthcare and Rehabili- tation. Surviving are a sister, Betty Byers of Evansville; and two brothers, Ray and Jack Byers, both of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, with burial in Twin Cemetery
in Spencer County.

Josephine Hale
Josephine (Podsobinski) Hale, 81, of Acworth, Ga., formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Kennestone Hospital in Kennesaw, Ga., of an aneurysm.
She was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna M. Joyner of Kennesaw and Sheila A. Smith of Evansville; two sons, Dennis E. of Savage, Minn., and Joseph C. of Chillicothe, Ohio; three sisters, Evelyn Unghajer of Carnegie, Pa., and Rita Podsobinski and Irene Chesney, both of Daly City, Calif.; three brothers, John Podsobinski of Velmont, Ohio, Eddie Podsobinski of Carnegie, Pa., and Raymond Podsobinski of La Mirada, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, continuing at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in the county, the Rev. Eugene A. Schroeder officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery

Henrietta Fravel
Henrietta (Smith) Fravel, 87, of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at her daughter's home.
She was a sales clerk for Grant's De- partment Store in Florida and a Baptist.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon S. Doench of Evansville; and six grandchildren, Douglas and Daniel Doench, Linda McDivitt, Susan Montgomery, Tracy Massa and Terry Gagne; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1991; and a son, Barry Lynn Fravel, in 1999.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. John R. Hilbert officiating.

Ida Lawrence
Ida Derrett Lawrence, 91, of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Holiday Nursing Home. She was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, LaVern Hall of Omaha, Neb.; a son, Jerry Q. of Omaha; and 10 grandchildren, Ronald, Donald and Towana Baxter, Bridgette Thomas, Yolana Reed-Young, Claudia Cotton, Latota Reed, Jermaine Hall and Carletta and Orvel Lawrence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Lawrence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mason Bros. Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Steve Loehrlein officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
