John Kenny
ROME CITY - John P. Kenny, 61, of Rome City, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, in Chicago following a six-month illness.
He was born June 27, 1938, in Chicago to Edward J. and Mary (Berghoff) Kenny. He married Maureen Cowley and she survives.
Mr. Kenny had lived most of his life in Rome City, moving from Chicago. He was a real estate broker.
Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Colleen and Peter Kearney of Bannockburn, Ill., and Tracy Kenny of Chicago; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Edward and Lisa Kenny of Northbrook, Ill., Michael and Susan Kenney of Ravinia, Ill., and John P. Kenny of Chicago; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Virginia and Max Roesler of Rome City, Sr. Elizabeth Kenny OSF, St. Paul, Minn., and Patricia and Anthony Fanone of Roselle, Ill.; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Carol Kenny of Harrison, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Gaspar's Catholic Church, Rome City, with the Rev. Charles Mullen officiating. Burial will be in St. Gaspar's Cemetery, Rome City.
Calling is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday in Hutchins Funeral Home, Wolcottville.

Darwin Werner
WAYLAND, Mich. - Darwin L. Werner, 72, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at 7:30 a.m. in Tender Care Nursing Home, Hastings, Mich.
Mr. Werner had lived in DeKalb County for 25 years before moving to Michigan in 1957. He served as an electricians mate in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1952. He went to Great Lakes for basic training and spent his five-year service career in Jacksonville, Fla., Corpus Christi, Texas, and Widbey Island, Wash. He worked for Keeler Brass from 1957-1990.
He was born Nov. 14, 1920, in DeKalb County to Albert C. and Beulah (Gall) Werner.
On July 19, 1953, he married Louise Warner. She preceded him in death on July 19, 1990.
He married Fran Oly in June 1995. She survives in Wayland, Mich.
Also surviving are a son, Duane Werner of Nashville, Mich.; three daughters, Marlene Frizzell of Tennessee, and Judy Werner and Juanita Davis, both of Hastings, Mich.; a brother, Howard Werner; two sisters, Evelyn Miller of Kendallville and Shirley Werner Shipe of Auburn; three stepchildren, seven grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
A sister, Bernadine Werner Zelmer, preceded him in death.
Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in Koops Funeral Home, Lake Odessa, Mich.
Calling is Monday from 1-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marjorie Miller
KENDALLVILLE - Marjorie A. Miller, 74, died at 5:30 a.m. today at Parkview Noble Hospital, Kendallville.
Arrangements are pending at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville.
Kristofer Gill
HAMILTON - Infant Kristofer Raine Gill of Hamilton was stillborn Wednesday, July 11, 2001, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was the son of Dusty Lynn Gill of Hamilton.
Also surviving are his grandparents, Kevin and Kim Gill of Hamilton, and Deb and Alan Adams of Houma, La.; and great-grandparents, Arden and Sadie Gill of Angola.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Strom Corbin Michael Stevens Walker, on Jan. 4, 1998.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Edon Union Cemetery, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor James Hulbert officiating.
Memorials are to the family. Arrangements are being made by Weicht Funeral Home, Angola.
Robert Anderson I
FORT WAYNE - Robert C. Anderson I, 72, died Monday, July 30, 2001, at home.
The Fort Wayne native retired in 1982 as a building engineer manager from GTE (now Verizon) after 32 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Elfrieda C. Anderson; four daughters, Deporah L. Hornberger of Kendallville, Linda D. Halter and Leesa C. Kern, both of Fort Wayne, and Cynthia A. Bis of Westlake, Ohio; a son, Robert C. Anderson II of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Vergil C. Anderson of Fort Wayne and Donald N. Anderson of Colorado; and 11 grandchildren.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Entombment will be at Covington Memorial Gardens.
Calling is 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wayne Buell
PLEASANT LAKE - Wayne E. Buell, 84, of Pleasant Lake, died at 7:05 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in Carlin Park Health Care Center, Angola.
He was born in Steuben Countyon Feb. 13, 1915, to Willis E. and Lillie A. (Ingledue) Buell. On July 10, 1938, in Steuben County, he married Margaret Jne Tubbs. She preceded him in death Dec. 4, 1997.
Mr. Buell, a lifetime Steuben County resident, was a retired farmer and had worked for the county and state highway departments.
Surviving are one son, Addie of Butler, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. in Johnson Funeral Home, Hudson, with the Rev. Paul Tubbs, a nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Circle Cemetery, Hudson.
LaVaughn Davidson
KENDALLVILLE - LaVaughn Davidson, 64, died at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Davidson was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Hindman, Ky., to Elliot and Dora (Fugate) Davidson.
He was a longtime Kendallville resident and retired from Kendallville Foundry after 28 years of service.
Surviving are one daughter, Darlene Reed of Garrett; three sons, Wayne Davidson of Wolcottville, Michael Davidson of Hicksville, Ohio, and Johnny Davidson of Carrie, Ky.; one stepdaughter, Tammy Ard of Wawaka; one stepson, Burnis Skaggs of Brimfield; three sisters, Iola Smith of Lisbon, Lottie Inzer of Kendallville and Doris Hudson of Dunn, N.C.; one brother, Blanton Davidson of Kendallville; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Services are pending at Hindman Funeral Home in Hindman.
Burial will be in Davidson Cemetery, Hindman.

Robert 'Sandy' Fordeck dies at 59
TECUMSEH, Mich. - Robert "Sandy" Fordeck, 59, of Tecumseh, Mich., and formerly of Kendallville, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 23, 2000, in Herrick Memorial Hospital of a massive heart attack.
He was born May 22, 1940, in Kendallville, to Allen and Doris (Krotzer) Fordeck. His parents survive in Kendallville. On June 16, 1962, in New Haven, he married Ann Downey. She also survives.
Mr. Fordeck was a graduate of Purdue University and Indiana University. He spent 25 years as president of Fordeck-Kemerly Electric Inc. in Kendallville. For the past three years he worked as manager of technical services and training at Tecumseh Products Co. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also an active member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society and served on its national training board.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Fordeck of Dublin, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Daniel Healey; a grandson, Joseph Fordeck of Suffolk, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Mary) Giampietro of Lincolnshire, Ill., and Mrs. James (Kathryn) Lucy of Monticello; and a brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Billie Fordeck of Kendallville.
Funeral Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh with the Rev. Daniel Wheeler officiating. Another service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco.
Visitation is from 1-4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until services Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Tecumseh. Calling is from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home in Kendallville, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Oston Roop Sr.
AUBURN - Oston Roop Sr., 82, died Friday, June 9, 2000, in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Roop was employed by American Welding, retiring in 1982. He lived in Auburn in was a member of Indian Village Church of God, Auburn.
He was born April 25, 1918, in DeKalb County to Mervin and Jenny Roop.
He married Grace Marie Weller on Sept. 30, 1939, in Auburn, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Oston Roop Jr. and Evelee Roop of Kendallville, Steven Roop and Sandra Cantway of Momence, Ill., and Michael Jay Roop of Anderson; one brother, Joe Roop of Auburn; and two grandchildren, Steven Chad Roop and Carrie Leigh Roop.
Three sisters preceded him in death.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery, Garrett.
Calling is Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
